    Mr. Fajita, uncoated polyester twill from twill USA. 1.8 oz Cut away stabilizer. I’m pretty bomb at patches. As far as sewing it into a hat. I ain’t got nothing for you. But message me if you need patch help. After you cut out the patch. Lighter to the edges. I think you used duck canvas here. Great video! Keep uploading!

    For the heat n bond on back of the patches... I cut the heat n bond a little larger than the patch. Also, If I'm going to iron the patch to the cap, double the heat n bond or use heat n bond ultra.
    The heat n bond will secure the stitches around the edge. This old gramma will probably give hints as she watches your videos...don't yell at me...just suggestions & I love watching you all. I watch so many UA-cams and it has kept me almost sane through this pandemic & hubby's health issues.

    Spritz with water and those wrinkles will lift. Same for the puff. Melco will cut time in half or more.
    You could actually do several patches at same time. On the patch edges run around them with same color of the edge stitching so they don't show. Loved watching this video!

    Awesome video! I always wondered how people did this. Do you have to use special foam or digitize it differently for puff embroidery?

    • @Red.E.Hustle
      @Red.E.Hustle  3 роки тому

      So I used basic craft foam from joanns, but i did hear they have special foam for embroidery, both work. As for digitizing, it does require a few more steps, but not as bad as it sounds.

  • @themelonpatchbydeb8411

    A couple of tips for you. Instead of using white bobbin thread, use black bobbin thread, that way you will not see the white bobbin thread coming through around your black edges of your patch. If you don't have that, use a Black fabric marker, by coloring the edges of the patch so you can't see any white threads or white fuzz coming through.

    Erik you know what else is good if you not ready for the Multi needle is the hand sewing machine check this video out, do some a research on amazon as well for the machine I think is great cause you can stitch after you make them all on the PE800. Ask me how I know cause I was working with my PE770 for years making Hat not FUN lol. but I made it happen. I am still going to get one I think because I want to use leather patches.

      Thanks for the tip! I really want to get a glow forge and make leather patches for hats. I was thinking about just busting out the needle and tread and sewing it on. I was hoping the press would of been easy and quick, but i think i could hand sew in the same time. Maybe get a dedicated hat press in the future. So maaaannnyyy ideas right now lol
