@@karlpopewoodcraft Hi Karl. They are called parking heaters, used in vans, caravans, and HGVs. Many are now using them in sheds and workshops. Some say they have tested the emissions but have found no cause for concern. The heaters are fitted with a stainless steel exhaust which you vent to the outside. I'm quite happy with mine, it is a portable unit that I can move around whenever I need.
@@karlpopewoodcraft all 👍 finished earlier in the year then was working in the house, bit in workshop! More in there next year, hopefully start videos again!
Everbuild 502 in the UK from Toolstation is a good buy, but be aware it only has a shelf life of 12months. So check on the container when you buy it, the date of manufacute will be printed in black on the container near the cap. Also note that the Everbuild D4 (Titebond 3 alternative) only has a shelf life of 6 months. Since I retired these are the two adhesives I use in the main other than epoxy and Cascamite.
@@karlpopewoodcraft I’m doing first stall next week so it’s some last minute additions. But if I don’t get there first then there will be either broken boards or broken kids.
Aye. My glue lives in the hoose in the cold weather. Take care & stay safe. Merry Christmas. PS Production in the backyard 'shop' has dropped to zero in this weather.
@@karlpopewoodcraft The backyard IS ma 'shop.' Hence the lack of and waiting for. Saw someone say about carrying glue in pockets which is why I like to reuse my yellow mustard pots as glue bots.
I stopped using everbuild glue as it has a short use by date and had glue ups fail because of it quite often nearly out of date when purchased only use titebond now had no issues since using this brand. 👍 🎄
@@karlpopewoodcraft if i remember correctly D4 has a 6 month date from date of manufacture and 502 is 12 months so its worth looking at the date before buying as some retailers have a low turn over
Nice tips there m8 am looking at getting both those heaters you've got also not sure if you've come across the propane space heaters not sure your thoughts on them. One more tip though id say from personal experience if it's minus temps outside and u can get away with it just stay out shop pretty sure a have given myself some kinda hypothermia and infection from 2 days really cold shop days. 🏴👍😯
@@karlpopewoodcraft pretty sure it's cause of it aye. We had -5/-6 for couple days up here of course what did a do a went shop had one those stupid wee electric heaters going didn't do f*** all then for next 2 days spent shivering but sweating and now on antibiotics for an infection so yea keep shop warm folks. 👍🏴
@@karlpopewoodcraft yea that was the kinda thing a was thinking just when am there have it on. Can pick one up off eBay for like hundred quid then just need the gas after that. Not sure what I'll do need figure sommit out.
👍👍👍 I've just bought a 12v diesel heater. Puts out quite a bit of heat and it's cheap to run. Thanks Karl
Nice to blast out, do you need to consider carbon monoxide with these?

@1orbicularis sounds good and I bet the kick out lot of instant heat.
Tip 1: Live in Sydney. No more cold glue. 😁😁
Haha
Nice tips, extra one from me, I often fill my trouser pockets up with glue to keep it warm in the winter.
Haha 😄
How's the garden room mate?

I use exactly the same mate, I didn't realise about the pretty short shelf life until recently. I use 5lt in a couple of months lol
Just the opposite here on the east coast of Australia 42C (108F) today. Glue will probably set before I get the pieces together!
Nice problem to have mate 😆 I don't think I could handle that heat actually.
Awesome as always thanks 😊
Thank you Cindy 😊
As long as youve got an understanding partner who doesnt mind big bits of wood being dolloped in the living room or in the kitchen 😂😂😂😂😂 CLASSIC 😂😂👌
Haha mine used to go mad 🤣

Another great tips video Karl.
3 glue ups in the house tonight. Only issue is I need to get up early before the kids find them.
Are the gifts?

Merry Christmas mate, ye it's hard in the shed in the cold isn't it. I did that for a few years until we went full-time. 😳

Just checked my latest bottle, only seems to have a manufactured date, 15.08.23 can't see a run out. Never had that issue though.

Bloody hell have you really? 😳 not used a propane heater before. Sounds like one I'd only use if I'm in the shop again and not leave on, quick heat.

Put the glue tub into a cooler box. keeps it from freezing
Good tip thank you 😊
Not sure if it really works well but you can put your glues in a cool bag .
Have you tried this?
No not yet . I saw the tip on a plastering channel , he puts is pva a tubs in the bag .
On the trowel is the channel
I built a glue cabinet for the workshop, fitted a thermostatically controlled bulb in it, keeps glued etc above freezing, works perfectly.
@@davidcharlesworth623 wow thats amazing. 👌
The pva will dry white not clear if its too cold, and stays white unfortunately.
Yes I've seen this as well good point.😊
