Do it to the tiguan. Defeats the purpose on the t-roc. If you can live with a car that small you may as well get a golf r. If you have to compromise and get an suv for space and practical reasons the tiguan would benefit more from the performance improvements and appeasing those that cant get into a golf r.

I believe a tiguan r will come they have been testing one. And it sounds like a 5 cilinder. The next golf r will probably have a 5 cilinder aswell.

I hope they update the T-Rocs low quality interior before they start charging £30k+ for this model.
That seems to be the case unfortunately
I also find it quite sad how they're acting like this car is on the same level as the golf when it's actually lower than the polo in terms of quality
Makes me kinda concerned about the next golf if this is what they consider an suv alternative to the golf instead of the tiguan

@@blarkdexture8899 nothing to do with dieselgate. Just poor decisions. If they can do soft touch materials in the Polo, they should be able to do it in the T-Roc and Cross. But too bad...
CyAn the t cross actually has a soft touch dash which is even more sad considering that it sits below the t roc
They spent a long time over-stating what a HUGE challenge it was to bring the performance of an R to the T-Roc. It's the same challenge that their sibling company Audi did 5 years ago with the RSQ3. They're pretty much the last manufacturer to bring a performance SUV to market.
Got the 4Motion 190hp normal T-Roc, it's a lovely car but the interior is what lets it down. Had hoped on VW making a high quality interior for this but doesn't seem like it :/
Agree with most of the comments, same size as the Golf R but higher, so what's the point? Definitely needs to be a Tiguan and the Tourag R. Wish they did a VW Golf version of an RS3.

Nice to see that VW makes an R version of this car, I am curious to see how well it will do. I have a feeling quite a few family fathers will be tempted! :-) Although there is of course the Gold R variant, which in probably a big in house competitor..

I’m sorry guys but I stopped watching after three and a half minutes. You can’t tell how a car handles looking out the driver window. Maybe I’m being short sighted and I would benefit from watching the whole interview. Please tell me. On another note if the test driver needs a full racing suit and full face helmet why is Brian at least not wearing a helmet? His choice or VW's?

The same car as audi SQ2 and Cupra ateca with the 2.0TSI AWD(4motion/ Quattro/ 4Drive) and 7 speed DSG produces 290-310hp and 280lb-ft

Does the regular t roc have ambient lighting?
If it doesn't, then hopefully that would indicate that they've used higher quality materials inside of this car
Does not only the GTI and R versions have ambient light?
My regular t-roc has ambient lighting but its an extra option package

I’ll never understand high performance SUV’s. There’s a reason they’re not raced. What next BTCC changing to BTSUVC. If SUV’s need adapting in an attempt to make them feel like a high performance sports car you’ve answered your own question. If you want something that drives & feels like a high performance sports car buy a high performance sports car.
What they going to do build 300 of them - or building them to sell oversea ?

@@christianwoldNo I haven't heard. I just haven't heard a thing since the spy pictures and rumors of the rs3 engine. I wasn't sure with the diesel scandal and with vw partnering with ford. On the uk configurators all the high power diesels and petrol cars have been pulled which made me think they must be doing badly with the new wltp emissions tests so I thought they might do a model reduction like ford.
yes, I think a number of manufacturers are having a lot of trouble with WLTP, and corporate total CO2 costs. The VW Group are amongst these. I guess the VW Group management will be waiting to see - and looking forward to the introduction of their ID range of EV's to help with the corporate CO2...!

The fact that making an R version of a car like this in particular is still a priority for VW shows how screwed our planet is.
Did you know that a petrol powered car is the least damaging to the environment if compared to the battery manufacturing? If you want an EV, go ahead and buy one but know this; You are only buying good conscious while not making any difference.

It is completely understandable why they do it like this, this is a more enthusiast oriented version and it will only sell to that specific market with that hardware.
