My favorite song by Jim ed and Helen rip Jim ed
This was over 30 years after the original. And they sing just as well. Amazing!
RIP Jim Ed, Ms. Helen, thanks for these beautiful songs!!! PURE TALENT!!!!
Tremendous duet. Natural chemistry. Classic Country at it's best.
I love this old song and Jim and Helen singing it
Lord, the talent in this room!!! Wow!
Jim Ed, as smooth as glass, with class
Another wonderful love song by Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius. 😍😊💯
R.I.P. up there Jim Ed.
this is a good song jim Ed brown and helen comelius
Smooth as always. Probably the best country duet of all time.
WOW! Jim Ed Brown still has a wonderfully smooth voice!
Like butter
I met Jim Ed Brown when I was backstage on the opry and it was one of the last times he was on the opry if not the last so I'll see him on the other side and thank you for your service Jim Ed we shall Pop a top again on the other side of Jordan
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. RIP Jim Ed Brown. "Morning" will always be my favorite as it brings back so many memories of being a newlywed. See ya again!!! God Bless You and yours!!!
I loved this song from the first time I heard it!! One of the sweetest songs I’ve ever heard!! Love like this doesn’t excist anymore!!
RIP Jim Ed Brown we will miss ya'
The vocal harmonising here is the best I've heard.
I love this song and the two that is singing it. Take your breath away
Watching this video in 2019 you can just see how many great country singers we've lost in the last 10 years, the Grand Ol Opry has been decimated to the point there's hardly anybody left.
Yes its very sad i miss our older singers.
R.I.P. Jim Ed-they sound as good as when they recorded this Fred Imus[Don's brother] and Phil Sweet song in 1976.So many of my musical hero's are in this room.I just learned of his passing on the Wilburn Brothers show. The black haired girl right behind Jim Ed is Carol Lee Cooper, daughter of Wilma Lee and Stoney.
The girl I dated in 1976-1980 this song was my desire for us.I loved her and listening to these songs we would hold hands and I was filled to the brim with bliss. I regret losing her and have never got over her. Bosque Farms NM, these songs and her are gone forever. A fire I kaint put out...sigh
I never knew the singers by name. At least not all of them. But I was born in the late 90s and I grew up listening to these songs. So I am slightly emotional as I relive my young childhood. Music is a key. And to me, it opens memories I've forgotten. I'm only in my late teens, but these songs will always be in my heart. And my soul.
I'm old but this is how I feel too.
Jim Ed and Helen Cornelius were a duet from the early to mid 70s by the early eighties they started fizzling out and they weren’t even making that many public appearances on shows as a duet! If you heard their songs on country radio in the 90s which they do that, they will play classic country music songs from time to time but, they now have radio stations/ satellite stations or internet radio that play the classics 24/ 7.
R.I. P Jim Ed Brown, you will be missed by those who remember you.
I lived by that song! There was no way I wanted to have to get married. I told everyone I went out with if I got pg I would never marry them. I would never tell them I was PG. made a lot of guys mad. But I never had to get married or give a baby away! No sex till I got married! I don’t regret it at all. Louise Tridle North Platte Neb.
RIP Jim Ed, you will be missed.
"Please stop, and take me home..." I always did... Amen!
Helen & Jim were always great together. It was a shame that they split up.
They never were together, the just sang as a duet, nothing more! No one ☝🏻 in country music ever crossed those lines nor ever cheated with their spouses just because, they were a duet that doesn’t mean they were a couple having some sort of a affair and, nor were they a couple, it simply is a put on act like Bradley Cooper stated because, you want your audience to buy into the song and, feel it! The only duet that was together as a couple, ended up getting married and, that was George and Tammy! That’s like when, Olivia Newton -John and Cliff Richards sang together it was just them singing together and that was it, even when, she sang with Leo Sayer it wasn’t because, her and Cliff were made at each other or having some kind of disagreement, that’s just how it happened to be sometimes. All these duets have admitted though they are simply no more than friends with each other! Loretta Lynn and, Conway T. admitted that their families and, spouses do things with each other such as went on family vacations and, one of her granddaughters married one of Conway’s sons and, they sing together now as duet!
I cannot believe I only just heard this in 2019 and Im 61. Came as a suggestion from spotify. We are really starved of Classic Country in New Zealand. We really only get the Crossovers if we are lucky.
wow this takes me back love it
This is Jim Ed at his best and he does well with Helen, this is a fantastic upload. Thank you so much.
She sounds fantastic!
I think she is a fablous singer and luvly performer
Who will fill their shoes when they are gone ? Think about that ....
Dorn Tennis d
Jim Ed Brown is dead.
@@twinkletoes.9968 But he was alive 6 years ago when Dorn Tennis commented that. He died in 2015. The comment was from 2014.
My mother had their record album with this song and used to play it in our big record player that was also a piece of furniture back in the early 1970s. This brings back lots of memories from growing up.
Both still sound Amazing!!!
Whispering Bill always gets the best seat. 👌
That’s because, once Ralph Emery stepped out of all of his hosting duties, Bill Anderson stepped into host the Family Reunions, and, it’s always appropriate to make sure they have proper seating to attend their hosting duties! It wouldn’t make sense to put a host in the back with the band where he couldn’t see no one, how dippy would that be? Lol Simple Common Sense, Makes Simple Common Sense!
Can't believe I was 60 in 2018 when I first heard thi (in New Zealand). Beautiful effortless singing. RIP JEB
Ed not JEB!
Gosh, I haven't seen Jim Ed in such a long time...loved his gentle voice..
This song was one of my first memories and with you singing. Never dreamed at 65, i would be seeing you. Still got it.
Sweet memories 😢😍
It doesn't get any better than this!!!
I agree 100%.
Agree
He is like Conway and some others there will never be another.Music has changed so much but i prefer the older stuff, especially country. Some starts out country and the record companies change them. Sara Evans first album was out of this world country, I went thru about 6 cd's playing it so much but her 2nd album was "new country or pop country" what ever they want to call it. If i want to hear country , I want to hear country.Jim Ed Brown you will be missed. love you.!
And that is country music
So GREAT to listening on it🎶🎤🎼🎸Real old country..
Looked into the face of Bill Anderson. What a beautiful man. Opened for him on a few shows on the road and he was my ticket to the Opry Stage. They tell me 17 times. I remember 3
Two of my favorite singers singing one of my favorite songs
SO LOVE THIS SONG.............WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VOICE HE HAD...XO
Counting Jim about three quarters of that room has passed away now. RIP Jim and the others. Too many are already gone.
I MUST find this whole program on DVD. MUST.

Real country
TO A GREAT SING U WILL BE MISS
👍Thank you for posting Great music.
Cindy
The looks on the faces of the stars from the same era all look like they know something. Lol.
I was thinking the same thing, especially Jean Shepards look.
Jim is, obviously, still really attracted to Helen.
Nope, don’t read nothing into it or assume things, they were just a country music duet and, nothing more! There was never assumed cheating on each other spouses or none of that, people in country music have never done that , people start assuming things in their head and, that’s how these nasty supposedly rumors are put out there, it’s all not true, it’s a all flat out false rumor! The only duet in country music that were romantically involved we’re married which was George and Tammy!
Love my youtube Country. Love my True Stars ! Of great Music !
You will be missed. RIP.
Hot Stuff in their time Great

Jim Ed was ill here and it probably wasnt easy for Helen as at the end of the song they were out of sync. That wldnt hve happened back in the day!!
They were the Greatest!!!!!
great song
Just read the book by Jim Ed's wife, and she mentioned Jim Ed had an affair but i didnt know it was this woman! They divorced over it, 5 mos later, they remarried. She gives the glory to God.
what ever

Who airs their husbands private matters after he dies and he has no chance to tell his side. That is so mean and vile. How does he defend himself. Religious she is…I don’t think not!!!
Well, if it’s in a book, it would have been before his death but, I don’t believe it neither, it’s a delusion that people think that these duet partners are having affairs on their spouses, they never have done the such and, they will tell you so, that’s how it was in country music, everyone assumed when, they sang with a someone it was, well, why aren’t they singing with their spouse and, why are they singing with someone else! Well, they didn’t understand the fact their spouse didn’t necessarily want to sing professionally, it was them and, they writers and, the producers along with their managers pairs them up with whoever they think that person would work best for them. Loretta Lynn always said, they always had fans accusing them of having a affair. All these duet partners have admitted to on all the country music shows in the 70s and, 80s that they never had affairs behind their spouses back, nor have they ever cheated on them, they said, their Christian Faith and their Faith in God would never allow them to do such a thing and, they have admitted to loving their spouses too much to ever want to destroy that Union and their family unit. Now, goodness we know Jim Ed and Helen Cornelius looked at times on stage like a married couple and, there might have been others but, George and Tammy were married! But, the thing was it was nothing more than a friendship! Heck, Bradley Cooper said, it’s like your acting and, it’s nothing more than, that you are trying to make it look real for the audience!
@@beverlywaite9492 agree completely -cldnt say it better myself
Truth was they did for a season have a fling...but Jim loved his wife and they reconciled
Hello Kathy
No, they were a duet for many yrs throughout the 70s and 80s, do your research, they simply were a country music duet, there never was no love affair and, neither one ever cheated on their spouses! People want to believe that was so, but, it never was, especially in country music. The only country music duet that we’re sleeping together was George Jones and, Tammy Wynette and, that’s because, they were married! Aka/ duets aren’t paired up because, they been together, recording executives team them up together and, the people that get paired up together don’t usually have a choice in the matter and, these 2 didn’t! Again do your research before jumping to conclusions!
Oh yes there was. Look it up. He left his wife for awhile. But then went back!
@@kathyrorie4400 nope, you look it up and, you will find absolutely nothing, the assumed affair that people would have you believe is a completely false rumor that someone assumed and put in their head!
His wife even stated that had an affair with Helen.
Don Imus's brother, Fred (deceased) co-wrote this song.
Thanks. I wondered. :-)
Helen Is a Godly woman. Years ago, Hollywood wanted Helen to do some movies, but she turned them down when they wanted her to kiss another guy. She said it would be morally wrong for a married lady to kiss another man. She stood her ground for was Godly.
AWESOME DUET...
Always good!!
Yes that is Little Jimmy Dickens @ 1;40.
Precioso.
Yo orgulloso de ser Español, si me dicen que elija otro lugar para nacer sin duda, diría Texas.
The words are true .lol
Иегова, мне бы очень хотелось, что бы все эти люди вновь стали молодыми!
"Love & Marriage, Dad was told by Mother,
You don't get one without the other."

Fred Imus, the brother of Don Imus, wrote this song.
A life well lived. RIP Jim Ed..
