As a retired RN, BSN, IM Triage Nurse I loved "House, M. D." because of how over the top it was. There is no way, in reality, the things that were done on this show would have been done in a medical area. Thanks for the laughs, the tears, & the information. Cheers to all who took part in bringing "House, M. D." to the air.
Yes, I am also a retired nurse, BSN RN, Oncology...And the show was for sure pure Hollywood... And was pretty hard on nurses, like all there was on the show was doctors, whereas in an actual hospital nurses outnumber doctors 10 to 1. But I did love the show and still do...And once you get past all the Hollywood, there are some actual medical truths laid down. I recall the episode called "History"... If you are outside of the medical field, it's hard to understand what an accurate history can mean to a diagnosis.
My mom was a nurse. She eventually began hating nursing. With that said, she abhorred House, pretty much, for exactly what you said. I would often tell her it's just a show. She could not suspend disbelief.
Does it make a difference that it takes place in the fictional Princeton Plainsborough Teaching Hospital? Wouldn't there be a higher quantity of doctors ( _full time and in training_ ) than in regular hospitals?
@@AnnoyingNewsletters The reality of the situation is that all hospitals are basically teaching hospitals. Especially for nursing. In fact there is a trend where larger urban universities are buying rural hospitals, just so they can have clinical space. But if one where to go to a major hospital, in a major urban area, it would be clawing with all kinds of MD's.
I agree. House M.D. is a masterpiece of medical drama, psychological introspection, emotional intrigue, sarcasm and humor (humour - shout out to Hugh!). A privilege to watch.
@عبدالرحمنعبدالله-ز4م I hate to say, but it is at least full of sarcasm and humor/humour so your statement is incorrect. I can understand the rest being a matter of opinion, but House has sarcasm all day long
I thought I have seen that interview before and they may have cut off his follow up where he acknowledges that he's british and speaks very highly of Hugh's accent skill
I can totally see her last words being "Taub owes me five bucks" when House without any word just walks in and ends it, implying she bet House was still alive.
Growing up, I loved watching this series. I developed a huge admiration for Hugh Laurie and the entire cast; everyone gave spectacular performances from beginning to end. Now as an adult, this show is more relevant than ever to me in ways I can’t even begin to describe. Thank you to the entire team that made this masterpiece possible, a display that shows even those of us who are different, in pain and misunderstood are still worth loving.
I can't believe I never saw this before. I love the show so much. It was amazing seeing how Hugh Laurie sees House as a character. I always wondered about it. It was nice to hear him say that he loves him and thinks he is worth loving. The show helped me through a lot of difficult times. I've watched it several times over the years, and in all of those times it made me feel less lonely, it made me laugh, it made me cry, and it will always have a special place in my heart. It's hard to believe I'm only 2 years older than the show (yes, born in 2002). Just a 22-year-old Brazilian girl who, inspired by the show, is now a healthcare student (hopefully a doctor someday). I was only a baby when this amazing crew was doing such incredible things together. I hope they can all look back and be proud of their accomplishments as a team. Thank you!!! Planning on my House tattoo to symbolize my love ❤
Absolutely incredible documentary showing the real work behind House M.D. I grew up watching House and continue to rewatch episodes now that I am in medical school training to be a doctor. I never imagined the sheer magnitude required to produce such good quality episodes, and it's jaw dropping to see the amount of effort that goes on behind the scenes. Extremely grateful for all 8 seasons and massive props to everyone involved in the creating of House.
man, 20+ years from Blackadder to Laurie and Fry, and it's still surreal to hear Hugh in his true native British accent instead of the House's New Jersey accent
I am really happy I was able to enjoy this show as it was airing. Thank you to everyone who worked on this show and especially this youtube channel for keeping the show alive with so many rewatchable clips!
I hope all the cast stay healthy, live happy life and don't get entagled in scandals. Best TV show ever. Loved every episode and every character; mostly the humour.

I've watched this show many times on dvd, the intro song Teardrop by Massive Attack is one of my favorites, and House's Head & Wilson's Heart are my favorite episodes.
This show didn't have to be as good as it was. But the writers, the actors, everyone really, tried some really exciting stuff and made a fucking great show. Like, this is just a hospital drama, isn't it? That's what I thought. It became so much more than that.
I was an intern when I watched house md. for the first time and suddenly I was obsessed to watch this amazing series. After that day, I think I finished 3 times from the beginning to the end and I still watch 1 or 2 episodes everytime I feel "I need my house med". Most of the time I watch the episode "All in" again. Because it gives you the complex emotions of the House, and I always love seeing the fear of loss and the passion of the House.
I learned I had Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) from a similar show, Grey’s Anatomy. Chandra Wilson’s daughter inspired the episode, she had it herself. I know how much work goes into moving the pieces around, making sure the train stays on the tracks… On the other side of things, I hope you know how much relief I felt seeing my symptoms pay out on screen, or finding the name of my condition because of it.
