Haha well they are not that big, the do have to be big because they are rubberized for protection

I generally like Magellan, it's just too big (in my opinion) for the bike handlebars. Slick interface for sure.
It is big, for the Africa Twin, it was perfect. The big screen sure is nice

@@rlogue06 They do make a TR5 but its not Rugged (waterproof or dust proof). but a TRX5 would be great!
I've been looking for a good on/off road gps for my Africa twin that has a larger screen, small screen with old eyes is not so good. This looks like it could be right up my alley. One question I do have for this unit is it doesn't come with a wiring harness to hard mount into the bikes system, which is fine, but say you plug in a route to somewhere before you leave home. Say you stop for gas, when you repower the bike will the route still be there being that its just plugged into the accessory socket? Sorry, I'm a bit new to the hand held gps thing.
It don’t come with a hard wire kit but you can cut the plug off and hard wire it. I had the TRX7 on my AT connected to power all the time so it wouldn’t shut down. It does have a battery built in also so it will run for quite a while. Did you see my TRX7 Africa Twin videos?
@@WOODZMAN I've gone back and watched some of your vids with the older model of this unit on your AT. I really think this is what I've been looking for. I assume this new model has turn by turn built in nav just like the older unit did after its update. Thats what I've been wanting. Something I can really use in town, but will also get me out to the forest service roads, and trails and can navigate me cross country. When is this new unit going to be available? I went to their web site the other day and it shows it, but no ordering info.

I can tell you that it’s great for the off road stuff and back roads, I love it! It does have the turn by turn and voice also and gets you to the tail.
I do not have a date but if should be very soon. If you are going to use it in a vehicle and not on an ATV then I would look at the new TR7. I have one and will be making a video this weekend. Same features pretty much be a lot less money. Just not ruggedized and waterproof

How well does it do street nav to get you to the start of a trail? Or a med specialist in another city 100 miles away??? Seems Magellan combo units have a lot of poor highway reviews on Amazon.
I’ve never had a problem with it, it’s not as good as a regular street GPS but it works

The TR7 is good, the only problem is that it’s not ruggedized like the TRX7 And TRX7 CS Pro.
In a side by side you would want a TRX model unless you don’t ever get wet or dusty on the inside.
Also the TRX models has a lot better RAM mount setup.
