    It was because of your demo of their "Dimension" reverb in 2012 that I bought that unit and still use it. This is quite the step up from that in terms of features, but also in cost. Might be worth it for them to have a cheaper option available still. Obviously it sounds great.

  • @jat5am

    bought it couple of years ago, still don't see a reason to swap it. lots of engines + lots of under-the-hood parameters to play with + two processors to run both in parallel and cascades = insane amount of sounds. can be also your trem, chorus and delay (you can even make a delay out of spring reverb, I saw such community made preset). last but not least, stereo: don't say you heard e-dome, if you ran it through a single amp.

    Reading about Source Audio what I am really interested in is the fact they provide a midi preset switcher Soleman and Hub that can go with all of their pedals which means you can control and treat all their pedals as one system. the Nemisis is also a fine pedal from them. Strymon questions I see, well I have a Timeline and all I feel is Strymon need to update the big 3 and provide better control. SA are almost half the price with dual DSP here. Boss with their big 3 laying down the gauntlet also to Strymon~. I use a TC HOF 2. Unless you are in to exotic reverbs and delays all these are overkill. My Timeline really does not get a lot of presets. I am thinking going back to Analogman delay as more standard

      I still want the Meris Mercury7...

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin 6 років тому +1

      Funky' Furballs Meris are making awesome stuff, and the modulation ability really separates them from these other companies. Just like I prefer the GFI Specular Tempus if I want a multi Reverb. It has delay and it's a couple hundred cheaper than Strymon or Empress with algorithms that I like just as much(reverb at least), the Delay is catching up as well.

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin 6 років тому +1

      Source Audio have really gone beyond those others for a more affordable price, you just have to get used to midi and you have so many options it would take months to explore them all.

      @mattgilbert7347 4 роки тому

      I have the Specular Reverb V3. It's good. Not really comparable. I'm kinda over big "mega-pedals" and think I might just get a Walrus Slo for my Reverb needs and sell off any others I own, except for my beloved Marbleverb and Behringer Reverb machine (so underrated!)

    Big Sky, empress reverb or ventris. Which is better?

    • @jquanmusic
      @jquanmusic 6 років тому +5

      I've had all 3 plus a pile more. The Ventris is the best by far. It's not even a competition in my eyes. I'm a huge fan of plate reverb and the Ventris has the best plate algorithm I've heard. The natural reverbs sound closer to the real deal than the other two you mentioned and being able to combine engines makes for some textures the other two just can't achieve. The Empress has a pain in the ass interface too. I still have the Echosystem because it's just so awesome, but Empress really needs to re-think their user interface. Once the editor is out the Ventris will more than likely be even more configurable than the BigSky. It's also smaller and cheaper than the other two and has full size midi jacks unlike the Empress.
