I recently came back from holiday and found my GTV passenger side footwell inches deep in water. I checked forums and read the same issue you discovered, so had to remove the panel to clear the sludge, and then waxoyled the area. Glad to report after yesterday's deluge there was no more water in footwell :)
Unblocked mine a few months ago, I toyed with the idea of cutting off the rubber flaps beneath as its almost sphincter-like and wont take long to block.
Are there any repercussions of removing that stupid black rubber insert? Seems pointless to keep it if it blocks easily and we push down what ever is blocking it anyway.
Reminds me of vw polo's of the 00' , water would fill up and enter the air cabin filter then drip all the way to the fan assembly and fill the cabin with water....smelly stuff
You can un-block it without having to remove the plastic grill above it. If water builds up in this area it ends up leaking somehow into the rear footwell
@@horaciostjeward You need a thinner rod than in this video and you can push it thorugh the grill /cover as long as you guide it down the drain hole, I used the metal inserts from a windscreen wiper
@@ItaliaAutos well: there's only one very short piece of tubing around the center. Comes out a bit to the right of the air con pipes going into the cabin. Found out that it went there after taking the wipers and trim off. Drain was clogged so water went into the air filter, blower and cabin during a car wash. All fine now apart from a slightly crooked/corroded blower bearing. At least now I know I can reach the tube from underneath without taking anything apart. :)

Just cleaned out under my 156 scuttle, amazing how much muck one can find under there.. you could grow a pot plant in what came out
yeah its one if those things people forget.
Thanks for the video, mine is exactly same as your 159. Water totally stuck.
Thank you I just checked on mine they were all empty :-)
Great tip, too bad where it drains causes rust. All car makes mistakes but still love my Alfa
will only cause rust if its left blocked.
@@ItaliaAutos i agree, but what I meant is that the place where is comes out is easy to get rust.
Hello rust, my old friend...

Thanks, will check my Brera ASAP. Is anything needed to remove the plastic cover or will it pull off easily?

dont think this one was far off entering the cabin.
If this drain is blocked up, can it cause a wet patch in the footwell on the driver’s side? Thanks
Tss ...I always check it 👍
good stuff.

Hi! Is there chance for some tut, how to remove rear Brera bumper? Of course if it is not a big problem!
There will be when I can get round to it.
@@ItaliaAutos
It would be great, I and probably many others would be grateful!
Anyone have any idea where the drain hole is on a alfa gt? Thanks
Are these drains also on the 147?
Yes but prob not in the same place.
