Amazingly done. Watched lots of gate videos. Just looking for high-level comparison, and this one was by far the best.
Glad you liked it!
Fantastic explanation on how the bifolding gates operate . Well done Grant .
Glad it was helpful!
very informative, Great Idea for trackless 4 panels bifold gate. Thanks.
Top class video. Thank you!
Nice gate
After long term usage will the wires over stretch? And once that happens will there be free play when the gate is closed?
Great video. You just give an option for the gate i need. 4 panel folding gate. My question is: must the 4 panels have the same exact size? Thank you
Gate on track that runs parallel to the inside boundary wall
Bom dia, vocês vendem o projeto?
How do you make the wheel on the post twisting anticlockwise while opening gate?
the hinges between the gates are installed opposite . grate video . the cable locked from 3 point , right ?
What's the other metal hardware to make the second gate fold?
No mention of cantilever gates which don't need a running track across the drive but need to be slightly longer.
I had been looking for a company to install a sliding gate with three panels, I had called many companies but they do not do that type of job. Any suggestions, I need help, I live in Baltimore MD. Thank you...
very informative
Glad it was helpful!
Good day am looking to construct a 4 panel folding gate.do you have any sight I can go on to find drawing and materials for such project and opener
Is the rollers of automatic folding gate with four leafs fix or rolling?
These sound great. But I can’t find a local contractor who installs these. Any ideas?
Where are you from? perhaps I can help
Great video. I'm trying to find option for small, narrow, odd shaped (trapezoidal) drive. Two options the may fit my requirements are a 4 panel bi fold gate or two panel telescopic sliding gate. Can I ask how secure these are? How easy can they be forced open?
They are as secure as any other gate
Hi, there's a project for the bifolding gate at 1:20 ? Thank you so much
Do the wires slip?
No the wires don't slip they are attached very well
where to buy those wheels ?
What if your driveway is slightly sloping? What kind of tolerances does it allow?
if the driveway slopes across the gate must be hung at the lower side and bottom racked, if sloping up from road, it can be made to rise as it opens.
Hi, I thought the same system but with sprockets and chain because the total length of the gate is 5.6m, the large sprocket has 24 teeth and the small sprocket has 12 teeth, I want to know if you have, or produce hinges, because my gates are heavy and one of the gates also includes a pedestrian gate, thank you.
We custom make our bi-folding gate mechanisms from off the self hinges to suit the style of gate and use wire ropes because they can go at the bottom of the gate and hardly be seen. Chains are much bulkier and must go on the top because they need to be oiled and if near the ground pick up dirt, so they don't look as nice. The wheels for the wire ropes (or sprockets if you're using a chain) need to be accurately centred with the hinges other wise they don't work.
@@automaticGatesExplained Thanks a lot for the explanations.I sent a message by e-mail, with more pictures and explanations, maybe you can help me
@@automaticGatesExplained can you provide us a drawing ? i want to draw this design for myself because and i'm very interested about the last part with centering the hinges with the wire ropes
How do you calculate the wheel diameter?
The wheel on the post is twice the diameter of the others
@@automaticGatesExplained it doesn’t matter what diameter?
exact diameter doesn't really matter although the smaller wheels should be more than 50mm (2")
@@automaticGatesExplained thank you so much.
Sliding
Snow and/or ice problems?????
maintained costs on these wire rope on bifold gates are astronomical stick to double gates or single sliding gates
Not when your business is located in Australia
Theres a flaw i'm seeing in the wire rope. What's to stop someone from cutting the rope and the opening part of the gate? The wire is exposed outisde the property.
i was thinking about the same thing. For the purpose of demonstration i think it's exposed but it can be hidden
