Uncle Roger was my gateway to both Chefs, Brian and James, and I can honestly write that I'm able to learn something from both of them. There's almost always a lot of crossover, and that's to be expected. They're both classically trained chefs, after all. In the videos, they both discuss their own experiences in the kitchen, and it's in those bits that the two distinguish themselves. One thing that I do enjoy is when they both see something impressive, and you can just see the energy that they both bring when they share their craft with us.
As stated by many already: Watch both, and for different reasons. Don't really think either of you is hurting eachother's communities. Quite the opposite, frankly. Two absolute fountains of knowledge, with different experiences in the food and hospitality business and that's reflected in the videos. Chef, I am sure you know that you are not the first to start reacting to uncle Roger and I love Chef James. He is so knowledgeable because he has worked in professional kitchens in multiple countries.
I just want to say, with a combination of watching you and uncle Roger, I started to actually learn how to cook, I’ve bin making my own meals for the past two weeks. Thank you for inspiring me to not to fear failure.
I was just thinking it would be cool to have both of you chefs collab 😂😂😂 I found James before you. I agree with others that you two are different. James focusses more on cooking techniques. The vibe is more educational and controlled as he tries to not react to dirty jokes 😂 You are more balanced and personally I find your vids more natural and entertaining. Like, why would you not laugh at uncle’s jokes! You create more community vibe and you get the audience to be more involved by asking about stuff in a conversational sense. So, that’s why I think the two of you together would be bomb! I believe you have more knowledge in Asian cuisine too so it can be an exchange about that too if James prefers it that way. So, yeah. Please collab!
I’m glad (but not surprised) you had a mature response to all this. There are channels out there who copy videos by other creators by literally copying the entire script almost word for word. You clearly have different styles and bring different things to your videos.
I think he’s the most knowledgeable in European cuisine and especially French and Spanish cuisine. If you want some more educated takes from him you can see his “roast” of Epicurious’ paella 🔥
I like watching yours and James because you have 2 different perspectives. You as an Asian chef, know and understand ingredients common in Asian households. And he while based in Europe, grew up in an English household so hearing him talk about why Jamie would use this ingredient makes sense too even though it makes so sense to the dish. Would love to see a collab for you guys in the future.
I feel its sort of internet course where 3 different teachers have their own style of teaching and giving the knowledge. Does not matter the slightest if the topics overlap - its even cooler to get multiple opinions. Overall, I think its great that you are taking it so well and set good example to your viewers (us) that internet and intellect are not privately owned by anyone and we can all share it and get along nicely. :) And three heads reacting to one head cooking and one head observing the cooking live .. is just absurdly great :D

I watch both of y'all. You're both great. You both are in the same field but you're totally different from each other and give different vibes in your reactions. It's great watching and learning from you both.
Chef James is awesome.. in fact I'd love to see you all together he us an amazing chef and and educational while funny so I stand. He seems legit and cool AF. Almost u all seem educated, funny, and have your own take. I love all of you.
Of course there's enough internet for everyone. "Pro (insert profession) Reacts to (insert trending video related to pro's field)" is already an accepted genre. So long as the person reacting provides actual input/insight and doesn't just stare at the video slack-jawed, there shouldn't be any issues. Also, when it comes to these genres, a lot of the viewership is the same. So while there are many who messaged "This guy is copying you" there are likely just as much of your viewers who suggested the same videos for him to react to.
You offer a mix of humor and first hand Asian cultural knowledge along with some more direct experience with Asian cuisine. Chef James is in most videos a dead serious technical overview of a dish. Given that he is cooking in Europe he is going to have a different range of experiences and training which offers a great 2nd opinion on any video that you both do.
I like them both! Listening to Chef James reminds me of listening to your teacher straightforwardly whereas Brian is your buddy who likes to entertains you with his jokes and laughter. Both are good in their own unique ways! Definitely no shade!
I watch all three of ya’ll and enjoy the differences in the videos and your reactions. I like your jokes and James’ calm demeanor and how he focuses on the food.
I like watchin you and Makinson reacting as you both give different viewpoints to roughly the same issues that Uncle Roger roasts. Often times you'll have the same thought process on stuff but then the slight differences come out from an east meets west. Now we just need to make sure that Uncle Roger does NOT react to this video or Jame's Makinsons. A reactor reacting to 2 reactors reacting to his reaction of a reaction just might be enough to blow up UA-cam. Actually... Do it!
i have been been with James Makinson since he had 4k subs man. and by then he was on youtube for 2 years or so according to himself. i have given him a tip or 2 on stuff that could have been improven. and improvement he has gotten as he is getting sponsered these days. i had these ideas on how he could grow. and that would be working along side other content creators. because then both parties get subs from eachother like that. one of them i suggest he could contact, would be you Chef Brian! he had around 15-20k subs at the time while you had around 60k something. and he did not hesitate to talk himself out of doing that as you were much bigger then himself. but if anything. this guy isnt copying anybody. he works alot having many years in the kitchen. and when he is home, he is working on his youtube content. currently he is working with spanish cuisine! and he has experience with food from all over Europe as far as i understand. reacting to his content may be fun!
I celebrate your wise initial words, as a suscriber (and admirer) to both channels. They are different enough to teach from a same video without making it boring or repetitive (believe me, I usually watch one after the other on Sunday noon, and I enjoy both a lot). Keep it up Chef Brian, congratulations for both the learning and the fun!
Love watching both Chef Brian and Chef James. Both are so authentic. Both know what they're talking about. There's enough room for both excellent content creators. Thank you to both of you! 😊
I am very glad that there is a place left in the corner of the video so another chef can make a reaction video. Uncle Roger is great. he started a chain of several videos, what a guy ;)
There's a point where it gets too meta. It's already derivative that the videos are reacting to Uncle Roger reactions. Reacting to reactions to reactions is confusing. Nigel plays the role right: providing exposure to lesser known content and creating a unique product with his reactions. The pro chef reactions take what is already popular and provide straight commentary to Uncle Roger's comedy. But pro chefs providing serious commentary on other pro chef reactions is doubling (or tripling) up on the same thing. Not as much value.
Those "copying" comments are probably coming from new those Gen kids who were just released from the delivery ward and seeing the internet for the first time on their gadgets given to them by spoiled parents before they're even enrolled into school..lol
I watch all of y'all and you guys all bring something unique to the reactions. You all have personal insight and knowledge that makes them entertaining to watch, even when they're all about the same video.
I mean, I've literally watched all 3 of you when i search up uncle roger react videos, all of you got different styles and wisdom nuggets, who was the lucky bloke that thought Brian would be in any way offended by this?
I like all 3, and this is like inception reaction lol I adopted the egg crack on flat surface years ago watching pro chefs, and yes it does keep the accidental shell out of the bowl.
Interesting side-note: if you're fighting with a Medieval longsword, the proper cutting technique is surprisingly similar to the technique you describe for a chef's knife. I sometimes teach people about swordfighting at Renaissance faires and at sci-fi conventions, and I often start by describing the sword as a very large steak knife.
I love you both You have different focuses and experiences when it comes to cooking. Likewise, you have completely different ways of reacting. Keep it up Brian. 😊
so the next video tittle Chef James react to chef Brian reaction on chef James reacting to Uncle Roger reaction of Wang Gang Perfect Egg Fried Rice haha. Anyway hello everyone i am new here and i love watching your videos. Greetings from Serbia
I actually saw one of chef James' vids before my fav, chef Brian. But chef Brian brings the humor and makes the reactions as funny as the original. ChefJames offered a bunch of info and expertise, just like chef Brian, but I'll stick w the fun Prof.
I really like both of you guys’ reaction. Makinson has his own reaction that is different from you. You have your own style of review Uncle Roger’s videos, so it’s hard to decide who is a good chef. 😅
I first saw the thumbnail and I went, "Oh hey, it's James Makinson...." and then I gasped, saying "What the heck??!! It's a Chef's version of reaction Inception at this point"😂✨ But hey, we are ALL in for this. I mean, Master Chef Wang Gang + Uncle Roger + James Makinson + Chef Brain !?!? Boy..... It's almost illegal to be able to see this video for free at this point 💖🙊
This is peak react video content. I've been seeing this on Asmon and other channels XD now when we get uncle Roger reacting to him reacting to you reacting to him reacting to uncle Roger, we'll really be there.
Hey, Chef Brian! I just noticed that Guga has a third channel called “Guga” which has some interesting stuff on it that you should check out. There is a fun video about Gordon Ramsey reacting to some of Guga’s videos and Guga reacting back. Hilarious! You got to check that one out!😂 You might want to check out Gordon Ramsey’s channel for some of his reactions videos to react to.😂
A subscriber here, discovered you through Uncle Roger videos.l love your Channel by the way and there are similarities between you and the other chef James especially the long cooking rant lol but then again you guys are the Real deal real Chefs so respect.Difference is the sense of humour you are Asian Américain and he is British.l personally prefer your own and Uncle Roger humour, the other guy is more serious but still cool
This feels like some inception type isht. I'm watching a reaction of a reaction to a reaction of a cooking video. I follow both of you and I like you both. You two approach reaction videos very differently. I appreciate the technical points he focuses on and I've chatted with him a tiny bit over yt which is cool maybe what he meant with the cleaver is hard vs soft steel. I prefer soft steel clevers or other blades when working near bones but hard steal knives for general cutting and finesse cuts.
omg I didn't expect this chef. It feels like a duet reaction but it's no. Actually lately you and chef James are the only food related reactors that I'm watching
My egg cracking experience: I get eggs from a local producer, they vary wildly in hardness and brittleness. If I were to crack them on the edge of a bowl or pan they would 100% fracture into little pieces or possibly shatter in my hands. Commercially available eggs from the supermarket have stronger shells that are less brittle and they don’t break the same way. If you wanted to break them on the edge of a bowl you could more easily do so. The inner membrane is weaker while the shell itself is stronger (the exact opposite of the eggs I buy from the family down the road). Anyway, just my 2 cents.
I find this interesting, since the eggs from my neighbor's chickens have SUPER thick shells. I have to hit them on the counter pretty hard to crack them, whereas I have to be super careful with the eggs from the supermarket. Maybe it has something to do with Swiss vs American supermarket standards?
I actually would love to see you two react together kind of like how they do for movie react collabs. You bring your thoughts and he brings his and I really enjoy seeing two professionals who are passionate about what they do get really into what they are talking about. If he did everything exactly the same and used your words I would have an issue but it just seems to me you reacted to the same thing and had your own things to say. Of course a pro chef is gonna say they are a pro chef. You don’t go through the hell that is training to be a chef just to pretend you didn’t do all that hard work. That’s like saying all the “medical student reacts” and “Doctor reacts” videos are copying. No. They just aren’t dismissing what they worked so hard to achieve. If you are a chef you ain’t copying by saying you’re a chef. End of story. Just as long as you don’t throw bull out there.

I watch all of y'all and you guys all bring something unique to the reactions. You all have personal insight and knowledge that makes them entertaining to watch, even when they're all about the same video.
🤘
Why is it so chaotic in here, even before the video premiered😨
I am honestly scared now....🥲
😂
I mean, I've literally watched all 3 of you when i search up uncle roger react videos, all of you got different styles and wisdom nuggets, who was the lucky bloke that thought Brian would be in any way offended by this?
You two are so different with such different vibes, and you’re both lovely
Who said he was copying you
WHOM-
Bunch of peeps dm’ed me on IG and it was annoying AF
Agreed many other youtuber's have videos titled the same but are extremely different.
Lol. I actually watch the three of you chefs and only 3 of you are my favorite
❤️
I like all 3, and this is like inception reaction lol I adopted the egg crack on flat surface years ago watching pro chefs, and yes it does keep the accidental shell out of the bowl.
Interesting side-note: if you're fighting with a Medieval longsword, the proper cutting technique is surprisingly similar to the technique you describe for a chef's knife. I sometimes teach people about swordfighting at Renaissance faires and at sci-fi conventions, and I often start by describing the sword as a very large steak knife.
🤘😂
I follow Chef James Makinson. Dudes an awesome chef
I love you both You have different focuses and experiences when it comes to cooking. Likewise, you have completely different ways of reacting. Keep it up Brian. 😊
🤘
This is Opus.!..all three of you together..and Wang Gang..solid.!..this is brilliant..I'd love to see more of this..beautiful,and thank you..
Thank YOU!
Later, Jamie OliveOil reacts to Pro chef reacts to Pro chef reacts to Uncle Roger reacts to Jamie Oliver
😂
so the next video tittle Chef James react to chef Brian reaction on chef James reacting to Uncle Roger reaction of Wang Gang Perfect Egg Fried Rice haha.
🤘
And now you guys are friends ❤
I really like both of you guys’ reaction. Makinson has his own reaction that is different from you. You have your own style of review Uncle Roger’s videos, so it’s hard to decide who is a good chef. 😅
No need to decide! There is plenty of internet and UA-cam for everyone!
We need to have them react- collab now! :)
@@ChefBrianTsao true
I love watching both of you! two different energies and personalities. But the knowledge you provide is awesome!
I have watched both of you. You both add something different to my knowledge. You are both amazing.
💯
Absolutely love this
This is literally a reaction of a reaction of a reaction 😂
Yup 😂
Chef james is a nice guy I think you should collab with him
I first saw the thumbnail and I went, "Oh hey, it's James Makinson...." and then I gasped, saying "What the heck??!! It's a Chef's version of reaction Inception at this point"😂✨
But hey, we are ALL in for this. I mean, Master Chef Wang Gang + Uncle Roger + James Makinson + Chef Brain !?!? Boy..... It's almost illegal to be able to see this video for free at this point 💖🙊
😂
Frfr 2-3 years ago this would be on paid service in someone's subscription
This is an AMAZING video! Hearing all the different techniques in everything. It simply incredible. Thanks for sharing
I watch you and james all the time I would love to see this collab!!
🤘
There are many videos starting with "Pro Chef Reacts" - you come for the title, you stay for the content :)
🤘
This is peak react video content. I've been seeing this on Asmon and other channels XD now when we get uncle Roger reacting to him reacting to you reacting to him reacting to uncle Roger, we'll really be there.
🤘
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery mate. I watch both of you so no one is losing out
Hey, Chef Brian! I just noticed that Guga has a third channel called “Guga” which has some interesting stuff on it that you should check out. There is a fun video about Gordon Ramsey reacting to some of Guga’s videos and Guga reacting back. Hilarious! You got to check that one out!😂
You might want to check out Gordon Ramsey’s channel for some of his reactions videos to react to.😂
Cool! Will do!
He was saying the Chinese cleaver is thinner than a normal cleaver.
🤘
This feels like some inception type isht. I'm watching a reaction of a reaction to a reaction of a cooking video. I follow both of you and I like you both. You two approach reaction videos very differently. I appreciate the technical points he focuses on and I've chatted with him a tiny bit over yt which is cool maybe what he meant with the cleaver is hard vs soft steel. I prefer soft steel clevers or other blades when working near bones but hard steal knives for general cutting and finesse cuts.
Only Brian adds a drinking component to his commentary.
😂
omg I didn't expect this chef. It feels like a duet reaction but it's no. Actually lately you and chef James are the only food related reactors that I'm watching
🤘❤️
My egg cracking experience: I get eggs from a local producer, they vary wildly in hardness and brittleness. If I were to crack them on the edge of a bowl or pan they would 100% fracture into little pieces or possibly shatter in my hands.
Commercially available eggs from the supermarket have stronger shells that are less brittle and they don’t break the same way. If you wanted to break them on the edge of a bowl you could more easily do so. The inner membrane is weaker while the shell itself is stronger (the exact opposite of the eggs I buy from the family down the road).
Anyway, just my 2 cents.
100% I get eggs from my dads farm and I’ve experienced the same!
I find this interesting, since the eggs from my neighbor's chickens have SUPER thick shells. I have to hit them on the counter pretty hard to crack them, whereas I have to be super careful with the eggs from the supermarket. Maybe it has something to do with Swiss vs American supermarket standards?
I watched both of you and honestly saw his videos before and then found you but never thought about the copy angle. I just want the entertainment.
🤘
looks like you've shown the way haven't you Chef Brian
YAAAAAAAAAS! I love that you found Chef James! I found him before I found you and had no idea you'd reacted!!
💯
