Is there a point in the first half where you have try to stop them and make half end 0-0. Basically they identified the strategy and are pushing for a tie or hopefully going up 1-0 on you and letting you score fast in 2nd half
I've been enjoying these as an intro to the new rules so thanks for the content! This isn't the best of the bunch though I'm afraid, at one point I think you argue that Dash teams want to receive (and thus the 2-1 grind is a good thing for them?). All the arguments for wanting to kick would seem to apply even more so for a Bash team wanting to receive first, rather than let the Dash team get a very likely first score (or worse a stall and then score) the Bash team should spend the first half receiving and grinding up the pitch removing players to score on turn 8. The Dash team then has to start the 2nd half with fewer players and they must score quickly because they need to get 2 TD's. Even with Bash vs Dash, if you give up that first set of blocks on the line you are risking being down a player or two and skewing the rest of the game. I'd love to know if anyone has collected stats on the win rate of kicking vs receiving first, seems like something FUMBBL would be perfect for and if we're gambling then I'd put money on something like a 55% win rate for receiving first, there's too many other factors for it to be glaring but I bet it's there. Everyone should want to receive first, you get three free blocks and get the initiative, do you want to score quickly and then defend with your whole team, do you drag out some turns and score late or do you grind out the 8 turn drive removing players. You choose what's right for your team rather than the opposition being in control.
As a noob, this is a GREAT video, because it's something that I've been noticing in my own. So it's great to hear the summary and both sides! Bonus: i think Ben said "dashing and handsome"... I'm gonna use that as a team name! 🤣
I tend to receive the ball whenever possible with my dwarfs, build a cage then bash anyone who comes near me...drag out the TD and hope I can half the enemies team before the second half starts.
This is the first time I have to disagree with you Ben. I wouldn't advise to score fast with elves. They typically can do the elf stall with dodging every player out of tackle zone. Than frustrate try opponent by putting up 'The Elf Screen' which only allows 1 blitz per turn and one square of advancement. I do get that Skaven are not perfect for this strategy and do like to protect the linerats if possible because you have to put three players on the line.
The Art of Chain Pushing, please? Pretty please? With snotlings on top!?

Does attacking first aid a bash team by receiving the ball?
Generally as a Bash team, I like to punch first by receiving the ball.
It allows you to dictate where your punches go and start controlling the pitch.
I would like to see passing and intercept spelled out clearly

well, with the new stalling rules, I don't think "Dragging the TD out" works anymore :)
@@GretSeat stalling rule only comes in to play if you roll it on the ptn tablr
