We in the knife community really need to stop referring to these knives a cheap. A week ago I took a chance on buying the least expensive knife I ever purchased. A single blade appeals to me and saw it as I was getting ready to check out. It is the Rough Rider Blackwood Work Knife (large)for $7.43 at Chicago Knife Works. The fit and finish is well beyond what I expected...there are no flaws and the wood has character in the light. A few passes on the strop and she is good to go. CKW has your knife for $12.43 so I added it to my cart. The brand is new to me so thank you for showing it.
I've had two of these over the years it cuts fruit and meat it doesn't hold an edge forever but who cares I like sharpening knives in the us I can get for 12-14 dollars so it's a no brainier for me . Great review and letting people know about this old school essential
@@TheKnifeRaven no worries, I always on the lookout for new channels to watch especially ones like yourself who review knife brands and patterns I have not seen before, since watching your review, I have been searching for it with my usual supplier, unfortunately it is out of stock, it would be a great addition to my collection. I have only one Italian knife in my collection a Maserin Temperino, a single bladed knife, stainless body with Ebony inserts, a “ gentleman’s carry” Great to talk 👍
@@puzzlering1 If you want one of these, they have them at a place called "Warriors & Wonders". They're my frequent supplier of most brands. I don't know if you're in North America, but the shipping is superb! (They also stock the Temperino!) Cheers, friend!
I purchased this knife. It isn't bad but I have a hard time getting a toothy or polished razor edge on it. I guess I don't like the way they have heat treated the steel. I can get my SAKs, Opinel, and Douk Douk way sharper.

I quite like this one, pretty nice for a made in Italy foler.
Cheap means it doesn't cost much, cheap doesn't mean it's bad.

Yeah, the edge on mine is sharp, but far from smooth. Regardless, it's still an okay piece.
Cheers!
There is no 420 C or 420 A.
There is 440A, 440B and 440C, and 420 is not one of them.
Well, according to Antonini, the blade is "Aisi 420 Steel".
I can't recall what I said the steel was in this video!
Cheers!
