Whoa!!!! When he hits those outro passage chords from Daulton Lee......that's Lyle 110%....sends chills up my spine how sublime even that small sequence of 10 chords is. Thanks Lyle....and to all who loved him, family, friends and fans.
This is a Gem. The poor guy is almost apologizing by carrying so many synts, lol. Every one of them has his own reason to be there, has sense. It also demonstrates his love for every instrument. Nothing to do with showdown, image or shit like that, like many rockstars. If there is a musician completely far away from showdown or braggin, is Lyle Mays. Happily for him, with the tecnological developments in his late perfomances he only brings the stenway, of course, with midi, a couple of laptops and one or two master keyboards to get the full palette.
i remember seeing PMG in a moderate sized club on the first circle tour.....in France. I hung out with the band.....it was all good. They opened with Chet's Call.....blew my ass away......(edit no they opened with forward march and then into have you heard.....then chet's call). Sorry. It was a long time ago. And I was probably NOT sober at the time.
@Chileanskies : I think at the time - must have read it somewhere - he also used to have a Rhodes Chroma and was really into those kind of sounds, especially on his solo stuff (his first eponymous album and "Street Dreams"). So the Chroma could be one of those couple of unidentified keyboards.
Man what a sad day to know Lyle and Pat will never play again!! I will miss Lyle! What an amazing musician... his playing always inspired me
That little tune he played in this clip was Daulton Lee from Falcon and the Snowman Soundtrack. RIP to a true genius Lyle Mays.

Hangin’ with the BIG GUY!!! 💔
Man, could you upload it? I would do anything to watch the whole documentary!
Wow, what a gem! R.I.P.
RIP Lyle!
so are many other instruments, but to master them one has to spend years playing and really live and breathe music

Goodbye to a master. :(
he has the prophet-5, the synclavier, the k250, the 4-voice, and i can't figure out the one underneath the oberheim.
Most probably Kurzweil
Heard some Falcon and the Snowman there at 2:45
Correct
Yesss!
The Octopus Man!
Is that Lyle tuning his piano? (I'm totally blind, which is why I'm asking.)
No, it is not Lyle tuning his piano. Probably a roadie.
you guys got so mad about that old comment omg lyle is amazingly talented and i really respect him but COME ON LOOK AT THAT HAIR
pinkorpurple432 - It is a sign of genius.
That's the Chroma under the Oberheim. He also has a small organ to the right of the Prophet 5.
I might be the only person who got that as a GEICO reference, and not something an asshole would say.....
No, sir, just an ol' fashioned piano salesman.
What are you? Auto insurance salesman?
Hahaha!

Looks like a Televideo at 1:10.
Piano: So easy, a caveman can play it.
