Hahaha it is a lot for sure. Many of my neighbors think I don't have a job in the months leading up to this with how much I am outside setting it up and building stuff. They do not even see all the work behind the scenes it takes for programming haha. But hey it's our hobby and our labor of love so we enjoy doing it!
After watching your behind the scenes then seeing this, it’s just jaw dropping how you manage to keep everything synchronised so perfectly. Just amazing. Kudos from Spain with our 10 LED IKEA Christmas tree!
@@AVeryMerryMeridian your welcome I use all of you for my inspirational dreams. I’m a two year LOR user and I found out they have there limitations, but it’s simple to use. Just started looking at Xlights but seams a lot more complicated. We will see, maybe someday I can post remarkable videos also. Marry Christmas
@@arcsmanpa you got this! We’re not techie people by nature but there are lots of great people in this hobby and resources to get things figured out that’s for sure! We would not have a show if it was not for others help!
Last years show was great. But this year is even better. Love the addition of the matrix on the driveway. The setup is simple without an overwhelming amount of lights. Just enough to make it interesting. Great job in synchronizing the score with the pixels. This is the best execution of synchronization I have seen so far. And your choice of music is far out. Nice job. I am a huge Marvel fan and I love you musical choices. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💯
Thanks for the support and the big compliments! We agree that more lights does not always equal a bigger, "better" show. Glad ours translates well to others the way we try and do make it all come together :)
Drive way totally takes it to the next level! Thanks for sharing. Would love to see a behind the scenes on how the drive way works. Can you drive across it??
Yes, very happy with that new addition this year for sure! Im planning on doing a behind the scenes video on it. No cannot drive on it but I can move a portion up and down to get 1 car into the driveway still! :)
@@LawrenceKaneshiro I suspect (and please correct me if I’m wrong) that the driveway is exactly the same as the garage in that it’s a spaced grid, but it’s just larger and laid flat on the driveway.
It DOES look like projection mapping. FANTASTIC! I know that's a compliment for you.... but just fantastic. Not sure if you care to answer this, but what does this hobby cost for a beginner...and then for you?? lol
Yeah we’ll take that as a compliment with what we can get away with only 19,000 pixels :) I’d say you could get started in this hobby and have a nice little show for around 3 grand perhaps. As far as ours I rather not know how much we have in it as I don’t keep track on purpose lol
Everybody knows, ain’t no parent gonna let some kid or dude come up to their new born child and start playing a drum in front of him while he’s sleeping. Jesus or no baby Jesus.
By the way I love your show in this video, I’m working on my first one this year. I have a falcon F14V4 which I know nothing about and am currently learning how to use XLights which I just started playing with and hope to be able to run some sequence’s here soon. Any tips on where a good comprehensive learning source is on the web? Thank you for your help!
Take a look at our Behind the Scenes Video as it has lots of the parts and stuff we used listed in the description: ua-cam.com/video/_4t1Ql_Vvzg/v-deo.html Another good channel here on UA-cam to learn is ua-cam.com/video/lhOAzysWDuA/v-deo.html
We use LED strip pointed AT the house instead of away from it like most. We definitely think it makes our show unique amidst the many light shows out there. You can watch our behind the scenes video towards the end I show how we installed it
We will be by tonight or tomorrow to see the show! Would like to set up my own show, so maybe in the future we could set something up. Can find lots of info on UA-cam, but much of the important minutiae is skipped.
I had a couple pixels up there to trick the sensor into thinking it was daylight and treated as a prop in our show to just the ON effect the whole time when the show was running and when the show is off the light would come back on for the night
@@AVeryMerryMeridian oh wow. I thought it was way more than that. Btw for driveway, you tried using maybe cargo net? It might make the driveway usable if you can just roll it up to side or towards the doors.
@@MihirK007 that might work but I would worry about how it would sag and not look uniform. I did build the right 1/3 of this driveway matrix on hinges so I can lift it up and down and at least get my wifes car in the garage still. Honestly though its just more convenient to park in our neighbors driveway though lol
@@AVeryMerryMeridian haha that’s very true. I plan on starting doing LED displays next year and ditching traditional string lights. Looking at the bullet RGBW pixels. But controllers are sacred right now with supply issues. Only if I could park in my neighbors driveway haha!
How long does it take to code a sequence like this? Can you go into the process of that? Your house is goals. I've wanted to get into this for years now. I will slowly start buying the proper things soon.
Starting from scratch it takes us about 10 hours for every 1 minute of "show time" that you see to sequence...at least for us...Im sure others can do it quicker that have mad skills. Luckily in the hobby there are plenty of awesome people to collaborate with regarding sequences as lots of people sell their sequences, share their sequences or aspects of them like timing tracks or lyric tracks which can save LOTS of time as well!
I found this channel because the "Behind the scenes" video from last december was in my recommended. Nice addition of the driveway! **AND** you guys use drones?! I haven't seen any other channel do that!!! :o Also, I don't think it was said in the behind the scenes video (or maybe I missed it), but where do you place the speakers for the performances? I assume the videos have the music added in editing.
Thanks for the comment! So we have an FM transmitter that plays the music over the car radios that come and park and watch the show. Sometime we crack the garage and I have a radio on there if we see people out of the cars standing on the sidewalk
Whoa! Neat!!! Is that the way the other people with setups like this also do it, or you don't know? And is that something that's done often in America, set up a radio station for an event? Because that's crazy!
@@mvl8209 yeah most of us with light shows like this have a low frequency fm transmitter for visitors to tune their cars. It’s really only like $100 and not too complicated if you want a static radio station to broadcast just a block or so around your house
I agree with the moving heads! This is really the only other thing I could imagine adding in at this point and still keep it really clean looking. So this specific sequence is from Tom Betgeorge so yes we do get some from others, make our own, and customize lots all the way around.
