if you turn the HR and gps off in this watch it IS a mudman. Never needs to be charged like that. PPL seem to have no technical understanding of the watch before they parrot what they heard someone else say.
Yea, a lot of guys ganged up on the Rangeman and rejected it out of hand. I'm disappointed with some of the design decisions but I'll give it a shot.

I love my 9400, it's a really very good watch, it's possible the best G-Shock ever made by Casio, but... I love my GPR H1000 too! It's a giant watch with very fine materials and great construction. But, I think, I will love my future GPR H1000! I really want to buy it and enjoy the new Rangeman generation. Thanks for your videos.
If you get the new Rangeman just hang on to the old one. You never know when you might need it.
I am so glad I heard you mention the Garmin Instinct X2 in one of your videos. I have been waiting to get my next watch for months and was set on G-SHOCK but I was just so disappointed by what they have. This watch might be tough but the Instinct module is way better. I will be going with the instinct X2 Tactical.
Just bought the instinct 2x tactical. MIP display is a lot dimmer. Not nearly as visible as the g shock MIPs. Also got a fenix tactix on my wrist, same story, slightly worse in fact.

I can compare my Casio Gbd H2000 with my Garmin watches right here by my side and I have to say that the MIP displays of my Garmins are better( and bigger).
@@freddykruger3320 Thanks, that's an opinion I hadn't heard yet. For me, if the Instinct is less visible, it's still better. I welcome any new bit of info about the distinction between them as buying a watch like this is a rare purchase for me and I hope to use just one for maybe 3 years or more.
oh god here we go. On what planet are they better? I can hardly read my garmin tactix, the instinct is better but still not a shadow on the gbdh100 or gbx100. I bought it because paid advert bots like you keep threadjacking g shock videos and tossing about how good they are but thats none of your victim blaming business really is it? Garmin makes good GPS systems, Their watches are an afterthought. G shock has carbon core, garmin has fiber core. G shock makes MIP look good, garmin makes MIP. G shock makes water proof, garmin make water resist. So on. Paper specks. @@blackforestghost1
2 weeks with heart rate and some GPS is pretty good, same as my instinct, better than my non solar garmin tactix, no guarantees the garmin would be any better. No idea how much sun this guy got. Gamins solar estimates need some pretty high sun levels to live up to it.@@mattscrapper9938
Honestly, I would pick a gshock over the Garmin Instinct Solari wear now but Amazon had it for $200 and took monthly payments. I haven't found a gshock that ever has monthly payments. I'd wear the crap out a gshock with all the sensors. I live in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan so would love it up here. Thanks for fur videos!
a yooper, eh? you can use this rangeman as a puck for pond hockey. I can't fault you for taking that Garmin at that price. Sounds like a good deal.
I bought it!!! and I love it!!!! For me it will be non pulse sensor, non notification Watch. I love look, screen is great. It has vibe alarm and GPS when i run or Bike. I do not want Garmin I am a simple user.

Hi Jim, is the push botton of this Rangeman H1000 feel more solid compare with the gbd h2000?
The rangeman buttons feel a little squishy because of the mud resistant gaskets. The H2000 buttons are so easy to press but are plastic. So in terms of feel it’s a draw but I’m confident in the performance of the Rangeman buttons.

I didnt expect you to throw it out a window, that wouldnt be right for a personal watch anyway. I hoenstly think it would survive, i just think whatever video I saw was probably just making stuff up. It wasn't done in one continious video so its impossible to tell if it was broken before hand or not.
I’m sorry Jim. I just couldn’t bring myself to buy that rangeman. I have the 9400 previous version which I love, I have the 9500 mudman which I also love. But this new Rangeman is just to similar to the GBD-H2000 which I have and in my opinion looks a bit nicer than the new Rangeman. So I have done something I swore I’d never do! I bought a Garmin Instinct x2 instead… I have never owned anything outside of Casio and g-shock so this is a first for me. I’m hoping I make the right choice! We will see! Great video man, love your channel!
Shocking! I can't believe it! But I understand. Just let us know what you think about Garmin and how it compares to G-Shock. Who knows. Maybe one day I'll try out a Garmin too.
@@JimKinkade ok so the on the first day it’s far superior to the GBD-H2000. The set up process, the app all that jazz is far easier and in every way better. As far as I’m concerned this garmin is a direct competitor to the GBD-H2000. If Casio stick to their roots as in the 9400 and the 9500 they win every time. The older rangeman and the newest mudman are my favourite watches and the garmin doesn’t come close. But as far as modern, Bluetooth, tracking, fitness and all that jazz. Even the ease of use with the watch itself, the menus are easier to navigate and there isn’t that lag that the GBD-H2000 has when you press a button. The garmin is comfortable on the wrist but I’d say the GBD-H2000 is more comfortable as it is truly the most comfortable watch I’ve ever worn. Now if we can get a mudman like what we have now with an MIP display then Casio will be the absolute!! In a zombie apocalypse I would still take the rangeman 9400 and/ or the mudman 9500. They’re top dogs!!
I was in that position. G shocks for years. Bought the 2x, sold it as the hard plastic is just going to get beat up at work, and screen isn't as strong . And I see Garmin/Garmin type looking watches on everyone.
Not until I saw the new Rangeman in person and tried it on, I liked it and bought it. I don't need a full blown smartwatch. I look at the new Rangeman as just a g shock with extra features lol.
I also tried the fenix 7 Pro solar but have heard people still have button issues with them. I can't have that thought in the back of my head each time I get out of the surf or beat around at work.
@@mwboost have a look at the instinct range of Garmin’s. I have the instinct x2 solar. Which has MIP display and the solar actually gives it full infinite battery which seems to be working for me with all sensors on. Also I have noticed that on the Casio they say the stopwatch can’t show milliseconds because the MIP display doesn’t refresh fast enough. On the Garmin it does. I am a huge Casio fan, a huge g-shock fan. I must have 30+ Casio’s but as far as their semi smart watches go they’re not very good. But the Garmin does the same, it will show you a notifications but it’s almost a secondary function, no focus is on that. It’s all about the other features. I’m not into the full oled smart watches. I tried Apple Watch and I can’t be bothered with all that.
@@Splodg yeah that's what I had and sold as well. The 2x. Never really use stopwatch. I really need the g shocks for work. Just get beat around too much for a Garmin.
I looked in to why I couldn’t find the gps map so I can find my way back to civilisation and found out the grp b1000 is the watch that has that feature and I have the wrong watch😂. Hopefully there is a software update in the future.
Also the first time I used the heart rate monitor it was high but it’s good now
It's really weird that they took that navigation feature away. We'll see what software updates bring us but I'm not holding my breath.

@@pparmar40 with this question you question the sense of g-shocks itself. who would need a watch that tough, if 99% of all users wont use it the way its meant to be. why would you comment here, if you wouldnt be a fan? we are men and people that wish the best possible equipment thats availabe for the designated purpose. and this is smart and the only option, no compromisses if not really necessary. there is absolutely no sense in trying to demolish this by saying "but this and that situation is too rare to happen". we buy a survial watch, we want it to be 100% reliable and best built for this purpose. you want a sportswatch, you want it completely built for that way. the new rangeman is a transgender whatever. its no use for sports- nor survival guys.
