Heard this song in a new car advert and brought back so much memories. I had find the group who sang it, Erasure was a such great pop group with so many hits. 80s pop music will always be the best. Lucky to have been there around the 80s listening to these songs.
@@Sizle-z3k Yeah, the Second British Invasion is what made the 80s great. Before then, everyone was trying to sound like the Rolling Stones. What music needs now is for the Brits to come back.

The 80’s were amazing and unparalleled. These were my teen years. The music, the fashion, the artistry, the boldness, the unapologetic confidence - It was all so extraordinary. Nothing before then and nothing after then will ever compare. It was a culture and a vibe that will never be duplicated - Parodied, but never duplicated. Only in recent years have I come to realize and appreciate just how iconic and special this period of time was. I feel so fortunate to have been immersed in those years. To witness and participate in the 80’s as a teenager was nothing short of spectacular. How lucky I am.
Yes , you are 💯correct! We didn’t have any other distractions. Music was our life! It was a necessity to have a top ten favorite list. I always wanted to be different and like bands most Americans knew nothing about. MTV opened my eyes to British synth pop and I’ve never stopped listening. 80’s forever ! 😎
They are the soundtrack of my life. In the 90's my parents didn't let me go see them in Buenos Aires, and then when I was older my partner, in 2017, took me by surprise to see them in London. A dream come true

MY GOD this song gives me the memories!!!!! The night I heard this at The Eagle in Columbus, Ohio I was obsessed. I spent the whole next day in every record store looking for it and took it back home to my local gay bar. BEST SONG EVER.
love the memory you shared with us. bless you and love from England. the lead singer of the group at the time in the 80's remined me of a boy i had some feelings for. unfortunately he was a love rat. so i found out later. no other gay boy was able to evade his wit, charm, dress sense and good looks. he was half English, half German, blond hair blue eyes. we all fell for his charisma. just couldn't help it. he was talk of the town and also other towns as well. he broke many hearts on his journey of love action. that love rat played erasure on tape in his car. every time i hear a song by erasure i remember him kissing me out in fresh falling snow Christmas 1988. the boy would show you a good time both in and out of the sheets. but he was a swine since he was a bit of a wheeler dealer of antiques and jewellery from a small town. no matter where he went in other towns people seemed to know him. he knew how to get things out of people for his own advantage. he took things from myself and others. yes i had a great time with him but paid the price for it in the long run.. that dirty love rat.
Andy Bell was, as well as Holly Johnson, Boy George or Jimmy Somerville, an iconic gay singer of British New Wave and pop music in the middle of the 80s. This song was a plea for love in these uncertain times of Aids.
Still an incredible track. You were all I listened to growing up been to see Erasure twice excellent to see live too. Thankyou for the music so good. ❤❤
Born in 98, dad would play this absolute banger daily on the way to school. 25 years old and still a fan of all the old music. Ya'll had... well... MUSIC! Not the rubbish you see and hear these days! ERASURE, Thank you for leaving a place in my heart and leaving me memories of my father 💙
People say Erasure started to be big with Something (a great song) but I think Erasure really started to stake off with this song. It is the song that brought me to Erasure. Been a fan since 1988, but never got to see them live until the World Be Gone Tour. This was the opening song an it just brought the house down right way. One of if not the best concert I have been too.

Zeitlose
This song never gets old. Timeless.
Oh L'Amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Looking for you
You were looking for me
Always reaching for you
You were too blind to see
Oh love of my heart
Why leave me alone
I'm falling apart
No good on my own
Oh L'Amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Why throw it away
Why walk out on me
I just live for the day
For the way it should be
There once was a time
Had you here by my side
You said I wasn't your kind
Only here for the ride
Oh L'Amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
No emotional ties
You don't remember my name
I lay down and die
I'm only to blame
Oh love of my heart
It's up to you now
You've tore me apart
I hurt inside-out
Oh L'Amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Oh L'Amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
Oh L'Amour
Broke my heart
Now I'm aching for you
Mon amour
What's a boy in love
Supposed to do
