I'm completely new to prospecting and have been watching your videos for "How to" information. I'm curious to what makes East to West or West to East creeks, streams and rivers more appealing than North and South moving waters. We have some places locally (between Reading and Philly) we'd like to try once we get some equipment.
There isn’t a reason to be honest, it’s just a trend I happen to notice. Others have noticed the same. So I’m sure it’s just coincidence but there could be something to it
@@pennsylvaniagoldhunter Thank you for the quick reply. Literally just ordered an ASR package and a Garrett Super Sluice pan. Here's to new adventures for my son and I and maybe even finding a flake or two. Best of luck to you and we'll be watching for new videos. 🤙

I hope you don’t mind someone who knows nothing coming in and asking questions. I live in Somerset County, what should I look for in a river to try to find gold in my area?
I have a 5 spots gold concentrates in video. Watch that, it will help. Other than that, look at a moraine deposits map to also help. Little Loyal sock Creek produces gold and that runs in your areas
Fun!!! One won't get rich from Pennsylvania gold I guess. Except for the enjoyment of getting out and having fun.
It's really just about being outside and having fun
Nice thanks for sharing the fun 👍🏻
Those heavy rocks are probably a gem stone like serpentine. If youre around philly

There is most definitely a reason for this. Look into a little bit of geology and ancient glacial movement. Hope it helps

I'm out in Waterford! I haven't tried the area yet, but I will be hitting some areas in the spring
I definitely need to try this.
So are you allowed to use the sluice legally without a permit in PA?
Correct, no permit needed
