This was a huge creative evolution for Capcom. They came a long way from Street Fighter and the Megaman franchise. No one thought they could be cinematically successful, too.
Man I miss this game so much. This was the game I frequently play after a long hours of shitty work back in 2008. I was like, "I wanna go home and kill some zombie samurais now". I hope Capcom release a remastered version on the current console and most importantly, on STEAM! I think the series does not need to go on and let it drag out with a fucked up story line. Onimusha 1,2 and 3 + Shin Onimusha / Onimusha Dawn of Dreams is a nice package to resell to hardcore fans and gamers who haven't experienced this hidden gem.

These "Dark Rhealms" take EASILY 2 to 3 HOURS to beat. Don't walk into this like "this is easy". Prepare for 2-3 HOURS per character to make it through this. I don't mind a 'challenge'... but it feels that the game holds you (the player) hostage to complete the trials. There IS no save point... but you have to go to work, go to bed, feed your child... NOPE, it's 3 Hours per character.... and that's if you're GOOD at fighting. Be leary before being pissed. Take care of your family before you take care of this game.
soki is like the strongest but somehow he feels like just a side character for me , because samanosuke is go too deep into my mind , or maybe because he is takeshi kaneshiro ?
