Denise this is a beautiful project, I am knitting it right now Oct 5th,2024. It will be perfect for the Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦 cold winter ❄️ you are such amazing artist and teacher. Thank you again for thinking of us loomers. Hugs 🤗
Finally someone my Autistic, ADHD brain can understand! 😍💜 Thank YOU for explaining every step so clearly, I´ve actually been searching for something like this for awhile, those I found, I didnt understand, but YOU are speaking my language love *joy* 💜💜💜Thank you for helping me helping others 💜💜💜 I wanted to make something like this and give it to the refugees and to families that are struggling, I´ve made socks, mittens and hats and crocheted stuffed animals for Xmas :) (been sewing stuffed animales too, a good way of giving new life to clothes that are beyond repair) I may not be able to do or give much as a impecunious disabled pensioner, but what I do have a lot of is time, and I got boxes of yarn after my grandma when she passed, so I´ve just learned how to knit and crochet earlier this year 😊
Wow 🥰 Sweet Sweet CrixJoki as a fellow ADHD brain - knowing that my video is helpful to you gives me GREAT great great pleasure. More than I can express. I have so many things to be thankful for in this message. Most importantly, thank you for taking the time to share with me. You fed my heart today. 💛💛💛 Thank you for being a giver. You make the world a more beautiful place.
i am going to make as gift for granddaughter in NYC. She has already told me that if I make her something that it has enough room for all her hair. Now to think about the color. Myself, never go wrong with bright yellow!
What a lovely message about giving during the scarf bind off ❤ how very kind! I for one truly appreciate your videos. I've learned so much! And p.s. love the bed head 😊
OMG you’ve taken our breaths away 🎉. I never even thought of this but now my granddaughter wants to wear it to the bus for school. Have a Loving Turkey Family Gatherings 🦃💜🥰🎉🥰💋
I just bought the pattern yesterday (along with the tube socks and starter beanies patterns.) One thing I have to ask is, once I find out from my step daughter her height is where she needs her pockets, ala bent elbow or straight, how many inches (repeats) to do.
Hi Dean ! Glad to see you decided to dive into the scarf. Please share pics when done. Before doing the math for the length you need to know if she would want her arms extended or bent. I did my based on how I would use the pockets standing and sitting. I didn't want the pockets far from me when I sit. I hope this makes sense.
Love it, love it. I’m making it right now. I learned from watching your videos and this January I will be knitting 4 years. I make all my Christmas and birthday gifts for family and friends. I made so many different projects from your videos. I don’t do many projects with sewing as I’m terrible at sewing but I am trying to do more with joining. When I saw this video today I had to do it. Thanks so much.
Denise I love this pattern so much. I sewed the hood after rewatching video over and over. Actually did it. I’m on the scarf problem is it feels so soft, stretchy and squishy that I realize that I’m not actually knitting but I’m playing with the scarf. Thank you so much for all your amazing videos.
You're a great teacher. You explained everything very clearly and you took your time and didn't rush. The tip about pearl first then knit back was wonderful. Thank you I will be checking out the patterns.
Thank you again for teaching us all of the skills it takes to do loom knitting. You are a wonderful teaching spirit and so patient to show in depth what we need to do and with such a soothing voice. I am making this beautiful hooded scarf and it will be my biggest project so far. You are so appreciated!
Thank YOU soooooooOOOOo much. I really appreciate the feedback. And I feel like a proud mama knowing you're feeling confidents enough to take on larger projects. AWESOME !!! Thanks for sharing that. 💛
I did it, Denise!! I thought I would never get to the end. I had a yarn which was all I had on hand with some striping which really made it trickier. I added one little addition which was a couple matching colors pompom ties to cinch up the hood a bit. It turned out beautifully and I am proud on the stitching I did. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for teaching this to us. ♥@@LoomaHat
Such a beautiful, cozy design. You and I are the same height. I wouldn't have guessed, but I'm thrilled because I'm more confident with how your projects will work with petite proportions. And, Denise, you basically were the one who taught me how to loom knit from the get-go. Love your work. Always looking forward to the next video.
Yes it’s that time of year again and so looking forward to making this …Absolutely gorgeous … you have such a calm manner of teaching love to hear you explain so detailed as if anyone can do this … thank you so much for sharing your wonderful works and your time and knowledge… stay blessed
Instead of using your tool underneath where you can snag the top one, you use your tool going downward between yarn pieces then pull it over the yarn in your e wrap. It's also faster
Thank YOU for thanks. I really appreaciate it. And you can make soooOOOoo many things with looms. Here's a video with 60+ projects with just one loom . ua-cam.com/video/5M57cyaO1_4/v-deo.html
I can’t wait to try this pattern! Thank you for such a clear explanation. I like the way you set up the loom with the stitch markers, I’d like to do this as well. Do you sell these stitch markers?
I so very much love this project idea and am going to give it a try. Only question I have is on the hood-piece. In the video it says "rows 5-92: repeat rows 1-4, 22 times". Then you next say to do "rows 92-93: SL1, K1, *P1, K1, (*until last 3 stitches), P1, K2. Are we supposed to do the 4th stitch set (SL1, K1, *P31, (*until last 2 stitches), K2) on 92, or the one you list to do for 92 and 93?
Thank you for your wonderful Tutorials, I am new to looming. I have crocheted for years and recently started knitting again after years of not knitting. Is is possible to decrease on a loom?🙂
Welcome to the family !!! Yes, you can decrease on a loom simply by moving the loops. The channel Good Knit Kisses has a video specifically on the subject. Plus you will find that she needle knits, loom knit and sometimes crochets many of her projects.
Seven year olds range greatly in size. I would say to adjust the width down use less pegs. To adjust the length do less rows. Measure as you knit. It's customary that a scraf should be the length of the recipients height. Hope that helps some.
First - keep in mind that you can adjust the length and wideth of both parts of the project. Your question about will it fit - well it really depends of the 10 year old. There are husky and petite 10 year olds. Also, when the loom or yarn changes - I really can't tell you much. I didn't test the pattern with bernat baby blanket yarn. I can only suggest that you knit and measure as you go.
I love this, Denise. Can it be made with a chunky 5 yarn, or would it leave big gaps?? I have this beautiful autumn colored yarn that would look fantastic as a hooded scarf. Thanks for another fun project!!
You can, but you would need to adjust up the peg and row count for the lighter weight yarn. I really like this stitch a lot and I'm going to do a video on it and show the difference in what it looks like when you change the yarn weight. But that won't be for more than two weeks.
Hey my friend! Yes you can do the U for the cast on. Also yes, you can go left to right. You know I’m normally a left to right knitter- but I’m trying to stay consistent with the community at large.
This project is knitted flat so as long as you have enough pegs it doesn't matter how many more pegs your loom has. So you can use a loom with 100 pegs, and it can be any shape .

Hello - I think I might attempt to knit this on my loom - May I ask what size bulky yarn did you use? 5 or 6 thank you again in advance ❤
That is a bulky #6
Hi Denise, great project. I have a 7 year old niece who would love one of these, average height. What size Loom should i use?
Seven year olds range greatly in size. I would say to adjust the width down use less pegs. To adjust the length do less rows. Measure as you knit. It's customary that a scraf should be the length of the recipients height. Hope that helps some.
Does it have to be bulky yarn or any kinds yarns? Can I use #4 yarns but make it 2 strings together?
I used bulky - depending on the #4, you might need 3 strands together
@@LoomaHat ok thank you!
I want to use #5 yarn on 5/8 pegs. How many pegs do I need? I was looking for your follow up video ( re sizing)
Thanks you for helping
It truly is my pleasure 🌼
I just purchased your pattern. My question is will this fit a 10 yr old? I’m using bernat baby blanket yarn 5 ply.

Thanks for another fun project!!
You could just use it to knit flat. You‘d need 1.5x the pegs for the same width though, just as a heads up.
I am using bernat softee chunky 6 but really it’s more like a 5 and it looks great.
You can, but you would need to adjust up the peg and row count for the lighter weight yarn. I really like this stitch a lot and I'm going to do a video on it and show the difference in what it looks like when you change the yarn weight. But that won't be for more than two weeks.
@@LoomaHat thank you, Denise. I look forward to seeing that video. I'm currently making an infinity scarf with the autumn-colored yarn. 💛
Hi Denise. I hope you're well. I wanted to know if this could be converted into a hooded shawl? And could this be made on a skinny flexee loom?
I don’t think it would work on the Skinny … but it can be a shawl by just making the scarf wider.

Love this hoodie/scarf. On the Cast on row, can it be done in U-wrap and does it need to be made right to left? My tendency is to go left to right.
Hey my friend! Yes you can do the U for the cast on. Also yes, you can go left to right. You know I’m normally a left to right knitter- but I’m trying to stay consistent with the community at large.

I am confused, is slip and skip the same thing?
For this pattern, yes
Nice!
Thanks!
What brand yarn did you use for this project? 😊
Hometown by Lion Brand - all the info and complete supply list is at loomahat.com
Can i use a 41 pegged loom for this we dont have 35 pegged looms
This project is knitted flat so as long as you have enough pegs it doesn't matter how many more pegs your loom has. So you can use a loom with 100 pegs, and it can be any shape .
