I was inspired by this. I’m customizing a Halloween 1978 mask and I did the hair, used a soldering iron and did the weathering, and I’m finished with layering the latex for the burnt side and the gunshot hole so thanks a lot for inspiring!
It's crazy how good and detailed that mask looks. Both your version and the hero mask used by James Jude Courtney. Kinda sad you barely see any of the detail in the movie. I didn't even notice there is mold on it when watching the film.
They definitely used different masks .. it changes shape pun intended when Corey has it on. Plus I've seen different stills from the movie and they definitely took evil changes shape to the next level with the mask. Too bad they didn't take it further mythology wise cuz they hinted the mask has power in the very first scene of 2018!

You should do a rehaul on the Halloween ends knife. I have one and it seems to be printed but still have a texture also the hilt has sculpted eyelets!!
I think it’s funny how no one is really mad at the fact Michael was sidelined and Corey took the spotlight for a bit as the “new Shape” of evil, but what pissed everyone off, especially me, was the fact there was no explanation, no pay off, and an extremely lack luster ending to the film. Not only did killing Corey off make his entire appearance in the film pointless, it also made Michael’s presence pointless as well. They had something so good going for Corey and decided to waste it. Michael was absolutely undermined in this film. I personally didn’t really care at first that he was set aside for a bit, but the fact he only got three kills in the film and ended up having 90% of his final fight spoiled by the trailers, it felt like we got absolutely no Michael. I don’t like how they even included the whole subplot how Michael may be supernatural as he transferred his evil over to Corey and also “appeared” to get stronger the more he killed only to not explain it further. It left me more confused about Michael’s place in this trilogy. Overall, unlike most people, I enjoyed most of this film. The ending is what ruined the previous 1 and a half hours for me.
Should have been 2 and half hours at least especially adding a new character. In the novelization we see Micheal before he goes into hibernation which would have at least kept us more on edge and giving us a better look into what happens after kills. Plus there was even a scene with the area that used to be micheals house that would have at least had more to do with Micheal. The fact we waited for this piss poor attempt at an ending is really a bummer and Micheal got sidelined even though his look is the best to date. If they had just sidelined the references and rehashing of every sequel they ignored the whole trilogy would have been better. Should have been four movies I think especially adding a new character. Too many split ends in ENDS. The fact that Corey takes his own life made no sense at all. He should have felt the power of the mask . I mean he did just fight for it? Also how does Micheal know where Corey goes? Some crazy mask smelling scent? Bad writing and too many what ifs .. they just wanted it to be done I guess. So many missed opportunities for some real suspense. Shame. I feel bad for the makeup fx crew, they put some serious effort into micheals look and we barely see it in it's full glory... what a waste. To send him off they should have had more over the shoulder view /maybe first person view of him coming back to Haddonfield and wreaking havoc again and stumbling upon Corey and Laurie (hey their names rhyme coincidence I think not.) Micheal badly needed a real send off ... ya he's evil ya he's an asshole , at least show him unleashing hell again to really justify his demise and killing him the way the townspeople do. That sheriff is the most useless attempt at a new character. He just gives up. Which apparently Micheal did too? What also bothers me is Micheal gives up his power but still gets strength from killing? Somethings missing there.... if he still gets strength why was he so powerless to protect is raison detre? The mask? It's fine they wanted to add a new character but it's not fine that nothing got a real chance to breathe heavy like the Shape. The whole less is more attitude is what really Kills ENDS. I really felt he should have at least taken Laurie's hand like she took his. That would have been shocking. Why is she able to overpower him after he clearly took his evil and mask back? He can take on an army of firefighters and a mob but one woman who got lucky and really wasn't prepared for a final showdown is all it takes? And why would Micheal hibernate? It's not like they even cancel Halloween! Nobody seems to even be scared of the holiday like they should be with this fucking lunatic looming at large!!! Ughhh they wanted to reboot this franchise so badly they forgot to ignore the bad writing that killed it in the first place!!! Not impressed!! Halloween ends and no one's scared anymore. But evil changes shape and cannot die. Hmm for a trilogy that so badly wants to be like the original they sure missed the point in the End.
@@nefariousnimbus Yeah, I agree, but the thing about the novel that explains how Michael found Corey is that Joan’s death is explained to actually be Michael, not Corey, who was in search of his mask and the first place he went was Corey’s house (although a deleted scene retcons this idea from the novel which is clearly shows Corey with the mask killing his mother). If we go by the novel’s explanation, I guess you could say Michael just went to the two only places he could’ve guessed Corey to have been, his house or Laurie’s house.

But if that's the case, he would have seen that Laurie was in coreys life I mean in the film he just goes straight to her house made no sense , other than what I just said or that he has mask homing radar....really made no frickin' sense , he just walks in to Laurie's new house pretty sure he would be scoping first. Such a missed opportunity for suspense. Really feel like he would be more cautious especially after being suckered 3 times in 40 plus years. Why does Micheal even want the mask back? He passed on the evil already, why wouldn't he let Corey just take it and carry on? Shouldn't he have felt more human? Or a sense of relief? So I guess it's just an infection he just passes it on but is still a carrier. Why wouldn't he infect more people in the 4 years he disappeared then? Questions questions questions. As you can see the problem with adding a new character and a new ability to an old character in the last film in a trilogy and not making it more than two hours is just plain stupid and infuriating. And even more aggravating is the Halloween movies are supposed to make you scared!!! They left it with a everything is honkey doory and evil lost and died...even though it changes shape. So which is it? Is Laurie the next Micheal than since she has the mask? Didn't really feel like that was what they meant with the mask in her house cuz there was no question mark with music , which would have at least left something to spook /unsettle the audience. The problem with the whole trilogy is there is very little suspense and too many sequel references and quick cuts. They are just blink and you miss it movies.

Hey Chris, amazing video! Do you think a rehaul would be something anyone could do, or does it demand a certain experience? I yesterday bought my ENDS mask, and consider to rehaul it myself. I have previously rehauled a Jason mask with great success, but latex is indeed trickier. What do you think?
So, normal acrylic water based paint without any latex doesn't crack if you seal the basecoat and then the final layer with plastidip? Asking cause I don't have an airbrush and painting using latex mixed paints with a brush is pure torture

I've painted every mask except for the kills one cause the side that isn't burnt literally has no detail so i just bought 2 ends masks and made one of them into the kills one and it turned out very very good tbh
whats crazy about these masks is the difference between mine and yours. i went to spirit and got one and now that i compare your un rehauled and mine (i habent rehauled it yet) is my base paint job on my mask looks like more of a rehaul than the other base ones ive seen, idk man just comparing
I'm doing this to a cheap amazon one and to make it.look incredible i used paint on the hair cause it makes it nice and crusty which is what michaels hair would feel like I used a sponge and some white paint for it as it gives it a different colour all I need to do is the cotton on the side
I need a stand for my mask as it's getting funky with sweat and then being put back in my bureau daily. Where'd you get that stand for the mask? Or what's a good mask stand for a mask that's worn daily and sweat in?

Question bud.. I thought in order to rehaul a mask you couldn't use regular acrylic paint? Some sort of applicator had to be added to it?
