hi.when i exported to nwc, GUID value is shown in Navisworks Item -Tab. Is there any formula that i can add GUID value in Property set in Civil 3D as well?
Sorry the response took a bit. We asked our technical team, they aren’t 100% sure. You would need to connect with us or directly with Autodesk to research it.
The "Default" value being something static set inside Property Set is unfortunately not helpful for what I needed to label. I would like for my label style to be able to read off a block's attribute that contains that particular object's real world ID (IE: Hydrant #1) along with its Station so basically the label should look like: Hydrant #ABC STA = XYZ ABC and XYZ dynamically changes depending on the specific hydrant I select to label. Right now Civil3D can grab the STA info (XYZ portion) in a label, but I have to manually write the Hydrant ID (the ABC portion) for each Hydrant even though the block itself already has that value stored in its attribute and is displayed next to the block, I just happen to still need a label with its ID and STA along with that, and when there's 50+ hydrants in a drawing surely there's a better way.
From our experts: I’m not sure of a direct way to embed block attribute data into property set data although there is likely a programmatic way to do it. You may want to explore how the attribute data is being assigned to the blocks to start with. If it is manually, then it may make sense to not put it in the block attributes and instead put it in property set data. If you are using Civil 3D and this is survey collected data, this could be done through description keys. I HAVE A QUESTION HOW TO EXPORT THIS DATA TO EXCEL OR MAKE A SCHDULE WITH GENERAL PROPERTIES OF THE OBJECT
