I’m on the same boat as you. Second year teacher, first year started fully remote and transitioned into in-person in the spring. It’s a challenge knowing what’s “normal.” We’re in such a complicated time. Definitely taking it day by day and learning what works as I go

It's so funny that you mentioned you have a student teacher this year- I'm student teaching right now in 4th grade! I go on Tuesdays and Thursdays all day and we have such a sweet group of kiddos :)
Race to a flat is a fun game I sometimes play in intervention groups.

Could you go into more detail on what happens during “intervention” time/what the goal is?
Intervention is extra support for tier 2 students. It teaches them fundament skills and allows for students to get extra time if they need it. For example, if your student is low in reading then in intervention you might have them do leveled literacy books to increase their reading levels. So in third & fourth, students are typically “reading to learn” however, you might run into a student who is still “learning to read” and might need help with fluency, decoding, comprehension, etc. but FIRST you must test to see where they are compared to where they should be.
@@marissastinson1528 Thanks Marissa! I’m not a teacher (unfortunately I chose a money over passion career 😭) and my area doesn’t utilize that in school at any grade level so definitely was confused!

do you wear contacts when you are not wearing glasses or are your eyes not that bad that you don't have to wear glasses all the time?
Yes I wear contacts when not wearing glasses but also I can survive without them but things are def blurry lol
