I was just there for the month of September visiting relatives in my Mother’s hometown of Bansko. The weather was great and Bansko is Bansko, just awesome as you know. Glad that you discovered it and were able to enjoy everything it has to offer but I don’t suggest too many others to come too. It’s great just as it is and doesn’t need the crowds…

Thank you!! And I do imagine that it gets super packed in winter times. We really liked the quietness in early summer. Let's hope it stays at least a bit authentic 🙏

Actually, there are 130 lakes in Pirin, not just 4. You just those that particular hike! Glad you enjoyed it! The cloud was not a rain cloud

Hahaha!! Possible. We just had the luck that every day at around 4 - 5pm the rain hit very hard for like 2h and then everything was nice again. Therefore, we were pretty nervous. Thanks for the info about the many lakes there. Definitely need to go back and explore some more 😍

Bansko is not all of Bulgaria but not all of Bulgaria is Bansko (with the qualities and faults of each corner of the world) But at least everything is not abandoned (even if many real estate programs have went bankrupt...) The houses are in good condition and the road network is already well underway... The prices? Half the cost of living in France (unless you go to Lidl or Co. which remains expensive...) You can find an apartment for the price of a normal car... The city that doesn't just live winter is dynamic there are quite a few events during the year and there are schools, public and health services which are well established (not like Pamporivo or co. which are ONLY there for skiing..) Concerning the digital nomads who all talk about Bansko as the "mecca" and the fact that the city, and certain hotel establishments who want to develop work spaces.. Personally it may be good for the city.. But that does not bring not much to the inhabitants (and the speech "creators of digital content, digital marketing, etc. which in the end only talks about money.. that's not my thing..) And as for stray animals or not it You should know that many have a different relationship with dogs... they think "work" and utility before companionship... They let them live their lives which can seem hard for a lot of people.. But you should know that there is a Bansko Street dog association of volunteers and veterinarians here who do a lot of work to get them out of trouble and treat them as best as possible...They always need help. This is also why we chose there three years of buying an apartment to come permanently... (Greece is not far either..) In short Before the transition to Shengen Europe and the euro perhaps changes things as in d other eastern countries..

You are completely right. We could definitely think about living in Bansko as well. Beautiful nature, friendly people, great prices and much more. Bulgaria still has affordable apartments and in the region of the black sea it is also blooming. Besides this, Greece and Turkey are just around the corner and there is so much to see and visit. We really hope that we can come back soon and see more of this beautiful country. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

Let's me watch this Bansko video. I have heard before that it's a very good but less known skiing town.
