This guy is right on, we were paying for 60 Meg's and only getting 20 and found out our router wasn't.capable of providing the higher speed. Upgraded router and problem fixed. Quit putting this guy down just because he has an accent.
Wi-fi AP upgrade will alway help but your router not the bandwidth I just means it old technology so replacing a working router every 3 to 5 years is just good practise.
Also, u must remember that WiFi is much SLOWER than ETHERNET. A direct connection is the BEST way 2 Go. Connecting your Ethernet wire to the Router then to any box "ie" Desktop or Laptop Computer or Android Box will make the speed much Faster.
What an awesome teacher, he spoke in a simple way so even I could understand. Many people in these videos speak in technical language so I end up more confused than I was, when I started. I love his techniques.
I’m paying for a Gigabit connection (and got about 950-ish right when i upgraded, but lately have only been seeing an average of 500 or so. WiFi is even worse @ 70-80 MBPS usually on the 2.4 band & around 120-150 on the 5 GHz band..
ummm, I always know everything going about my wifi/router. I know who is connected and can allow or kick them at any time. If you don't have at least one person in command of your network settings you need to appoint someone.
i would be changing internet provider if i was only get 12mbps download, three years ago i was getting 90mbps on a shit plan . today the cheapest and slowest internet plan is 100mbps . the fastest plan for the average worker is 1gbps
That is just a badly configured Wi-fi configuration. It is no hack it just optimising your Wi-fi configuration and there is also other thing to bear in mind as there will be other routers using the wave band. The busier the frequency the slower your connection will be and also your share internet connection with other subscribers when you hear the term retention ratio in the terms of your internet connect means the number of other clients that are sharing the connection and throttling of the connection. I will conclude that yes the optimisation of the configuration helps but it will be limited as there is way to meany other things that will impact your connection on a isp side and the destination as you will only get best speed that the device in the route taken can provide.
Simon Thomas Do I need to look at the modem an are there adjustments I can make there first? Then I would need to look at router and make changes there? Would you be willing to walk me through that? Router supposed to be high end router. I had no issues working from home for my job yrs ago. But now I seem to have severe performance degradation. Disabled since 2012. 15 surgeries, flack removal. I still set off airport alarms.
Hi Alton it will depend on the technology your connection / your modem is using as there are factors there that will effect the performance of your connection as I said it can even be your Internet Service Provider is throttling your connection. But their this a few things you can look at generally that can help. The main thing is the higher the bandwidth on the connection the more important the quality of the board band line needs to be as things like noise on the line is a problem. Some things to look for in your property is things like excessive cable length to your telecom or isp cabling presentation for broadband modem. If that is present as a copper cable ensure that cable is not long. if it is to long en sure the cable is not coiled up as it will effect the noise on the line. I would recommend looking for one that is the correct length plus say 6 to 12 Inches. Altering the configuration on the modem will not gain you much as your ISP would of pre configured it before shipment for the type of connect and altering it may in fact make thing worst if not bring down your connection.
I get 1mbps fuck optus apperantly ur supposed to get 50 mbps and i get 1 on download and upload and on the worst days 100 kb on both wtf help me god help me please
