@@snakey934Snakeybakey That's depending on country and state you are living in. In Germany, where Rammstein are from, you can learn it as a job. This includes the licence obviously. If you don't want to do it as a job, you can still pay for lessons and get a licence by absolving an official test, but this way is kinda expensive.

    SOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
First off on the Cannibal of Rotenburg case: (BTW: Pretty graphic story and probably not for the faint of heart.
It was actually such an internationally recognized because of the fact that the victim volunteered to be killed and eaten. So german authorities had trubble really making the case for murder and the defense basicly framed it as a killing on demand of the victim. However the motivation for both of them was that they perceived the act of cannibalism as a sexual fantasy. Thats why they found each other in the Cannibal Cafe, a inbternet forum dedicated to the Cannibal fetish. There Meiwes wrote the following ad: "Searching for a well-build 18-30 year old for slaughter. -the master butcher" which is also the intro of the song (2:08).
Afterwards Meiwes received multiple answers to the ad but none of them were really serious about it. That is until Armando Brandis replied. They soon arranged a meeting and agreed to kill Brandis. However brandis requested that before killing him Meiwes should try to bite off Brandis' penis and to prepare it as dinner for both of them. Before going through with it Brandis swallowed 20 sleeping pills and a bottle of cough syrup to ease the pain. Meiwes failed to bite the penis off, so he cut Brandis' "part" off with a knive (hence the name of the song "Mein Teil"- my part). Afterwards Brandis tried to eat a piece raw but couldnt so Meiwes cooked the flesh and they tried again. At this point Brandis was to weak to eat anything. This is also reflected in the lyrics, here:
    (5:49):
Die stumpfe Klinge gut und recht The dull blade nice and proper
Ich blute stark und mir ist schlecht. I'm bleeding strongly and I feel sick.
Muss ich auch mit der Ohnmacht kämpfen Even though I have to fight fainting
Ich esse weiter unter Krämpfen. I continue eating under convulsions.
    (6:11 onwards to 10:25)
Ist doch so gut und so schön gewürzt und so schön flambiert But it's so well seasoned and so nicely flambéed
und so liebevollauf Porzellan serviert. and so lovingly arranged on porcelain.
Dazu ein guter Wein und zarter Kerzenschein To that a fine wine and tender candle light
ja da lass ich mir Zeit, etwas Kultur muss sein. yes, I will take my time, you've got to have some culture.
Meiwes then placed Brandis in the bathtub to bleed out and later stabbed him in the throat and hung him up on a metal hook for slaughter. The incident was videotaped by both of them in a 4 hou long video. After slaughtering his victim Meiwes consumed 44 pounds of Brandis' flesh over the next 10 months. Which, of course was also worked into the lyrics, mainly the refrain:
    (10:25 - 10:58)
Denn du bist, was du isst Cause you are what you eat
Und ihr wisst, was es ist
and you know what it is
    Es ist mein Teil (nein)
    it is my part (no)
    Mein Teil (nein)
    My part (no)
Ja, das ist mein Teil (nein)
Yes, it is my part (no)
Mein Teil (nein) My part (no)
Meiwes was caught by authorities because he started putting up ads again and a college student reported it to the police. While searching his home in 2002 they found parts of the body in his freezer and the aforementioned videotape. In 2004 Meiwes was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 8 years in prison. In 2005 a retrial was held overruling the manslaughter sentence and changing it to murder because of his sexual motives. In 2006 Meiwes was finally convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
While imprisoned he became a vegetarian, took interviews with journalists, inspired multiple movies, songs, and literature and also sued Rammstein for this song.

Another very effectful song is feuer frei (="fire at will"). Normally they just put fire breathing masks on and shoot flames from their faces; also on the Jimmy Kimmel appearance (in that case when they played du hast) they lit a guy on fire on stage which was pretty cool.

  • @ryanodriscoll

The flamethrower uses something called Lycopodium powder. It disperses powder in the air which ignites in a massive flame. Its obviously very hot, but it is a lot easier to control than a liquid fuel and gives less of an intense heat.
I don't know specifically how the fireworks work, but I imagine they are carefully insulated and have a fuel state that is resistant to accidental ignition.

  • @YanBrassard
    @YanBrassard 4 роки тому +5

Actually, the singer of Rammstein, Till Lindemann, has a professional training in pyrotechnics. So that's why he's always playing with fireworks in his shows. And you need to have a permit to use the fireworks that he's playing with in his concerts, which he does...

  • @AnimePhoenix888

On a Rammstein-Show, all remote controlled pyrotechnical effect and safety permissions for handheld devices (like Tills flame throwers) are controlled from the "Pyro-Bunker".
That is the name of the left stage module (under Olliver (Bass) and Paul (Rythm guitar). Even thou Till is a certified Pyrotechnician himself, he couldn´t fire the flame thrower without the "Bunker Crew" unlocking the firing mechanism via remote. They really care about safety.

There are several things that make Rammstein stand out: the music, the lyrics and the controversy are some of them. The text structure is always intelligent because they use words that sound similiar to distort the meaning. In "Du hast" the chorus goes "Du - du hast - du hasst mich" (you - you have - you hate me), but "du hast mich" also has a meaning in this context of a man before his proposal.
Here they play with the "nein" (no), "mein" (my) and "dein" (your): "Es ist mein Teil - nein! - Jetzt ist mein Teil - dein" ("It's my part - no! - now my part is - yours"). But that's not the whole layer because the official lyrics say "Yes it's mein Teil - nein!" ("Yes it's my part - no!")
. You can find those things in many songs and it's worth checking the lyrics even if the translations can't always reflect the double meanings. Your reaction was just amazing. It was funny to watch you starting to understand what this song is about.
About the controversy: they of course reflect on the topic in a very ironic kind of way and he sings stuff like "
Dazu ein guter Wein und zarter Kerzenschein / Ja da lass ich mir Zeit - etwas Kultur muss sein" ("served with a good whine and candle lights - I take my time for a little bit of cultural behaviour") or "Denn du bist was du isst" (old german saying: "You are what you eat") - both things that get a new meaning in this context.

Fun fact: he was very polite as far as cannibals/criminals go. A person came to his house to be eaten, the person came ON PURPOSE to be eaten. And then got cold feet, decided he didn't want to die after all, and Anton said okay, respected his wishes and let him go. He didn't want to murder somebody. He just wanted to eat them 🤮
But when the man got there and got scared and said I change my mind, Anton was like that's cool. Okay. You can leave.
He only ate one person (only, good lord) and that person consented to it. Wild.
Imagine wanting that. That's how he wanted to go.
After he was found out, Anton did not lie or try to make excuses. He told the whole truth about what he had done.
I wish serial killers were so..... Idk.... Courteous? And respectful? Wild. Wild that some regular people are less polite than a cannibal. I know some who would sell their soul and lie out their teeth if they got in a car accident and wanted to keep their insurance payments low.

It's actually pronounced "mine tile". In German, "ei" makes an English hard "i" vowel and "ie" makes an English hard "e" vowel.

The song reportedly was rather unplanned, and came to be when they were recording in the studio, and one of them brought a newspaper to read during a break that had the cannibal-case on the front page.

A cannibal goes never free in Germany, the guy has eat a fuking brain by a human, I think this very creepy. Rammstein makes many lyrics about never talks about this theme in the community in Germany, mutter is a about babys birth and death after birth. The song spieluhr. Sonne you remember, is about Kokain drugs..

The song is about a cannibalism case in Germany 19 years ago. Some guy advertised on the internet that he looked for another man who wanted to be eaten. And, well he found one and murdered and ate him. Apparently the willing victim actually asked for his penis to be chopped off and eaten why he was still alive, which the eventual murdered did before offing the guy and eating the rest of him. This song is a good example of being happy if you don't understand German.

cannibalism is still very much alive even today, you just dont hear much about it because cannibals usually live in more remote locations and their victims are eaten so its rare for one to be found out but dont think for a second that cannibalism no longer exists in society, it still does and is likely to remain for as long as humans exists as it is a psychological issue

You are partially right. You do roll the R. However, Stein is not pronounced like a beet Steine.
    It's Shtine
There's a hidden H sound next to the S is Steine that is not in the spelling as it would change the meaning.
So...It's RammShtine (Rolling the R of course)
Their song Rammled teachers you hot to say it. (if memory serves)

  • @stoffe77

The way you say ein in rammstein is the way you pronounce it in Mein Teil. So Mein is said like mine and the teil is like tile. Ti the way you say tired. So the e is sorta silent or more like a i.
They have never changed lineup. Song is based on a true story about a cannibal. The whole thing about rammstein is to somewhat provoke but you need to know the background to understand.
For example their newest album wit the song deutchland had a segment of ww2 where they hang people and show the nazi logo. At first people went mad but the video is about the german history.
Oh yeah, lead singer is a certified in pyro and all members are train with saftey. They do actually know what they doing haha.
