They are such mesmerising little creatures. I'm quite fascinated by them. The poor male goes through all that 'song and dance' to impress and the female just sits there staring at him. :D
There is so much beauty in this world. If we take the time to look at tiny things, there is a whole other world to explore.
I take macro shots of tiny desert flowers. They are amazingly beautiful.
Couldn't agree more. Love to see your flower shots
Peacockspiderman Thank you. I'll see what I can do. My photos pale in comparison to what you do. Simply amazing.

@@Peacockspiderman Jürgen Otto klingt sehr deutsch.
Von daher...schöne Grüße aus Württemberg... :)
I love that bit where the female is watching him going from side to side, it's like she's watching a tennis match! :-D
I love how it always ends with him gently touching her on the head, every time I see that I imagine him going "aaaaaaaaaaand boop, tehehehehehehehehe" as he leaves
Oh dear, all of these spider dance better than I do! I keep grinning at how hard they're trying to impress and the progressive sneaking closer. I can absolutely imagine spending hours riveted watching them.
the one who not try hard enough will be eaten.
I CANNOT get over how cute these little spiders are!
Spiders used to scare the holy peepee out of me (even though I couldn't bear to kill them, since my fear wasn't their fault). After a couple of decades of phobia and the realization that the damn things are everywhere, I decided to watch and learn as much as I could about them. While my heart still speeds up when I see a big'un, I find them beautiful and fascinating and worthy of respect. This is the 1st time I've ever heard of Peacock spiders. The boys especially are just adorable. It's kind of sad that the lady Peacock sometimes eats them after such a pretty dance. Thanks for making and sharing these videos.
M C Smith Lovely to read your comment. I am so happy when I hear from people with arachnophobia who watch my videos
M C Smith Comments like yours make my spider loving heart swell with hope :;_;:
The choice of music for these videos is wonderful!
Absolutely exquisite creatures - and you did a superb job not only shooting these guys but picking out what is THEE perfect song to go with this vid. Well done, Sir!

Really not a big fan of spiders, but this funky little guy trying to woo his big mama is just adorable! Thanks!
Jumping spiders are my favorites. This is the best foreplay I've ever seen! Fantastisch, Jürgen!
Superb! with combination of nice music!
Wonderful !!
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos! I love to share them all over the place, so few people know about these gorgeous spiders and your videos are the best examples out there.
Many thanks for your appreciation
Music's so complementary! So enjoyable. Thanks...
The part where he wipes his eyes with his little face mittens just kills me. These guys are so cute.
I am glad you enjoyed this video, and thank you for watching all of them !
I like the part where he goes "Hey, I just wanna touch your head, just hold still...ok, ok, no I won't do that. Backing off.
The music pairs up so perfectly with the video
Awesome photography, great documentary work and music choice!
Thanks for sharing those wonderful videos with us!
it's pretty awesome that they are really smart. Almost like they watch you watching them. So little. This might be one that i wouldn't be afraid of.
I love all your videos of this amazing and beautiful little creature. This one is particularly wonderful! Thanks so much! :-) Sandy
Nature... you've never seen enough...
The videos in this series are wonderful, thanks for sharing!
texmorg Nice feedback, thanks
I am an avid spider lover, as a result of which my two year old daughter is very intrigued by them (although with some trepidation, which makes me think that the human fear of spiders is possibly instilled in our brains somewhere and needs to be actively overcome). Nevertheless, she and I have been watching and loving your videos together. She even asks for "more spider" when each video ends. Just before writing this comment she had a typical "terrible twos" fit, and only stopped when I put on some of your videos. She was entranced enough so that my wife could feed her.
Emile Myburgh Thanks a lot for telling me about this. It is nice to know that my videos have that effect. In regards to whether fear of spider is instilled in our brains, I am not sure. I used to be frightened of spiders myself when I was little and overcame my fear by keeping some in a jar. Personally I think that initially we are not fearful of them at all until our parents start to interfere and tell us "don't touch that". I am intrigued by your profile pc, obviously in an aircraft. I had a fear of flying which I overcame by doing a pilot licence, and then became obsessed with flying, like with spiders.
I luv ur story. :) X♡
I never knew there were spiders this beautiful and unique thank u so much for making these videos, my son is so into animals, bugs and anything in nature and he loved watching ur videos (me too)!!!!
Nice feedback, thanks
Love the "boing" sound at the end! He struck out...
Why are these spiders not called the disco spider?
I'm doing my part to share the links around -- I had no idea about these guys. It really is phenomenal footage, and the peacock name is so fitting! But mostly great job with the highly entertaining soundtrack.
That was awesome! That male had some kick ass dance moves ;)
That's the most "WHAT'S UP BRO" spider I've ever seen.
Wonderful! Thank you so much for filming these marvelous little spiders. I am a big fan of arachnids and hope to see one of these in the bush someday. Keep posting these fantastic videos. Also: LOVE the music!
Thanks for the nice comment. I am about to publish another one, so watch this space
i HATE spiders and I am terrified of them but these are incredibly facinating :O
at 2:39 She's like "oh geez.." lol
Andrew De Mio "Don't look him in the eye... don't look him in the eyes*..."
Oohnagi This really made my day XD
*heavy breathing*
Actually Andrew, this is a 'he' spider presenting a mating dance. Accepted as a mate he'll sadly be killed when the act is completed. Gorgeous though!
Pretty sure he knew that, Catherine. At the time he indicated, 2:39, the female was actually facing away from the male, somewhat dismissively. This is what the others were joking about.
I LOVE these videos! Keep them coming!!! Give one a new appreciation for spiders!
These videos always make my day!! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. These spiders are such great little creatures. =)
Damn, this little guy got all the right moves and a stylish afro to boot.
Thanks John, music is so subjective and everyone has different tastes. I therefore always enjoy positive comments about my music selection
This is my friend when he's on drugs : red eyes, dumb smile and nonsensical dancing.. stil no blue face tho.
Another perfectly done video with a beautifully cute spider. It's interesting how there are two species - the rectangular and circular abdomen spiders. What is really weird is how the colorful abdomen has faces on them. This guy in the video has two eyes, a nose and a very visible smiling mouth on it.
fantastic videos, very informative yet humorous at the same time, love it !
Danny Wilkinson thank Danny, nice feedback, much appreciated
they are really cute little spiders. It would be fun to have a poster/ collage of all of them displaying side by side.
These are beautiful spiders and it does look like a happy sloth.
Oh if I only had the money to come to Australia, I would love to video these spiders myself. I have some awesome spiders out here, but those peacock jumping spiders are really something. Your choice of music is excellent for this video.
starts slow, then hes like BAMM check out this afro baby lol
Thanks for watching all my videos and your nice comment Shaylean. I am glad you enjoyed them
great vids and funky music...had my 14 year old girl grooving...:-)
OMG the music! I love this so much. :D
No wire ! If you refer the the threads you can sometimes see, these are the spiders' silken safety lines which they always drag around.
treading on shaky grounds, this one, it seems they hop out of fear even for a slight movement from the females..
you are one passionate peacock spider researcher..
they r soooo cute.. i love springspiders.... so fascinating and awesome....
Every song on these videos is awesome, i love it
I hope you do realise that if you post this video with james bond/ninja/dramatic music it will go viral. Classical music and you've got some Planet Earth documentary style gold. amazing footage! I love these spiders they're amazing. Some look like they have an evil clown face on their back, its hilarious yet so beautiful to watch. They also remind me a bit of Master Roshi! Thanks for posting these videos =) They're amazing.
Now, you see I am terrified to death of spiders, however one of my friends got me to watch this and I think this is the only spider I am not afraid of. This little guy is adorable.
Your choice of music on this one was wonderful, Jurgen! As always, incredible footage. Too bad the lady wasn't willing. ;P
Is this some kind of spider designed specifically for parties? ò_O
OMG, these are AMAZING!!! THANK YOU, JÜRGEN!!!
National Geographic and Discovery Channel together never did such an hilarious video like this!
Goodness. I just noticed the dislikes. Why? These videos are perfect. If you don't like the subject matter, just find something else rather than blam it.
Now that guy has talent. I must check out your other videos!
These jumping spiders dance far better than I can.
I loved it when the funk started up. All I could think was "DAAAAAMN THAT BE ONE GOOD MATIN' DISPLAY!"
Amazing footage! Just awesome!
I usually hate spiders and are terrified of them but these little guys are too cute and pretty :)
If the next time someone tells you they hate spider, show them this lol It's so cute!
Thats awesome! More people need to know about these guys!
You should demand nominal reimbursement though, at least to repay you for the time and dedication to make these!
Such high quality and great shots
Oh my . . . now I'm hooked on this spiders.
The music is awesome with this video !
Just when I thought jumping spiders couldnt get any more awesome
Thank you ! I just bought a new camera, a C100, so hopefully will be able to get footage that is technically better. But it still will require just as much effort to get some good scenes
❤ Love ❤ Love ❤ Love
Colors are Stunning 😍
Now Im not really into bugs but I have to say that this cute little guy 0:08 looks like he has some adorable mittens on LOL
OMG IT DOES X3
Nice job Jürgen. Amazing video, awesome jumper.
These lil dudes got it goin' on! How could a girl say "No" after All dat!?! Wassup!! My man would never dance 4 me like that. LOL!! Luv Luv Luv!!! Xxx♡♡♡

Great footage! Absolutely brilliant creatures!
Such an amazing creature!
This spider is so funny :-D
This is so cool. She plays hard to get.
the only *published* footage of the species!
+moreliaviridis89 the same applies to most of my other videos
Quite a few people thought these spiders are photoshopped, but nature can't be beaten in this instance
Never seen such a cute animal before
do they bite humans???? they are sooo cute!!!! I can't belive you could do this!! congratulation for the quality of your work, you patience and ....you COURAGE!!! they should pay you for this art!
Did anyone else find this absolutely hilarious? It proper looks like he's dancing to the funky soul music about 20 seconds in.
Very enjoyable!! Thanks for sharing
No, I shot most of my recent videos, including this one, with the 60D. I find the flip-out screen very useful and consider image or video quality to be similar. Lens is the 100 mm IS
OMFG THIS IS THE CUTEST
Thank you too !
You are not alone, the vast majority of Australians have never heard of these spiders, partially because they have never featured in any David Attenborough documentary. But give it some time, its only seven years that I publicise them. I think once they have become famous overseas, which they will, also Australians will know about them
i'm not a big fan of spiders but I thought that this was interesting how this species are quite beautiful.
Glad you like the music
they are the birds of Paradise amung the spiders.
I'm not the biggest fan of spiders. I'm not afraid though either. I love jumping spiders; I think they are adorable. Only within this last year I heard about the Peacock Spiders. They are lovely, such variety of vivid colors and dances.
the color of the spider is awesome
At the end, the male is like "can..can iiii just put my hands on youuu girlll?? Just for a lil bit. You like that righttt??--"
female is like "foo get OFF of me!!" lolol
I know it's a courting ritual. But all I could think of when he threw his arms up was "COME AT ME BRO!" lol
Love it, keep going, great tracks too. Well done!
