I made a macrame hummingbird sanctuary

- I think the hummingbirds are going to love it. Seriously.
So, I found this hot air balloon hummingbird feeder at my local thrift store, and I decided to upcycle it, or thrift flip it into a DIY macrame plant hanger bird feeder mashup thing.
If you're looking for some fun outdoor decor ideas for macrame projects, you should try making one of these cool plant hangers too.
I'm using outdoor macrame cord, and I'm starting my plant holder without a wooden ring so it doesn't fall apart on me.
Note: This isn't a step-by-step tutorial, but I do explain what I'm doing as I go so if you want, you can follow along and do something similar.
Here's the cord I used: www.ganxxet.com/collections/o...
Cord Lengths: 6 pieces @ 6 arm-spans long (402 inches)
2 @ 35 inches long (for wrapping knots)
Oh, and a little piece to make the little loop to hold the hummingbird feeder.
(Yes that number is correct, this is a longer plant hanger so it took a lot of cord.)
And I found the hummingbird feeder at a thrift store.🌸

Love this idea. Looking forward to seeing it when the flowers come in and you catch some hummingbirds feeding.
What a super idea. I found your blog first and now UA-cam. Yea!
This is a very cool idea, and the ring covering as the perfect touch!😍
Crystal, this is so cool and cute. I love to watch your thought process in your video. Super charming. You always come up with something you can repurpose. I will add this to my list of macrame projects. The repurpose, up cycle movement is so on trend. Love it.
It will do better in the shade .. just plant shade loving plants.. but I love it

I love to see the whole process from start to finish. I really enjoyed this video! Very nice!
our humming birdfeeder is in the sun. It should be changed every 2-3 days because of the sun same with the other feeder which is in the shade changed the nectar frequently Great idea too
Very pretty
Wow this so cool :) love it
Its so Great!!! You're amazing. i just saw round rings today at the dollar store actually. And wanted to mention, it might be a bit low for the hummingbirds, they might be afraid being so close to the ground (cats, creatures, can easily jump and grab them and all that), They don't care what color the feeder is-they'll find it. They do like a bit of protection tho, so maybe not so centered out there in the yard? But wait and see....
So dang cute!!! Love it!!!!
I love this.
Awesome I love it
😊What a great idea! I do have one question though :-) at the very end when you're putting cord on the ring with the pico knots, after you pull your cord through the cord running down that are already on the ring, Why not just continue on with your next 5 or 6 kn²? Why cut and burn it to seal so it doesn't fray or unravel? Do you understand my question? What I'm trying to ask? Thanks, Suzi.
ran out of cord, right?
Hi Crystal, just found your channel and love that you talk while you're going through your instructions. One thing I'm uncertain about is the measurements. When you give the measurement for the length of cord are you doubling it to allow for folding it in half to do you're starting larks head knot or is that the total length and then folded in half. Thank you
I'm so glad to hear that! I'm accounting for doubling it- so it's total length of the piece of cord, before you fold it. Thanks! 😊
