Great run but these camaro's are capable of low 7's just need lots of HP my buddy has a 2015 camaro with 3,400 WHP he runs a 7.0 pretty consistent and he's capable of running mid 6's when he gets her dialed in

@@jaylockz8545 he'll get there, just got the car on the track for the first time 2 months ago, getting the bugs worked out takes a little time so for now he's pulling alot of power out.shes a heavy car too not a pro- mod it weighs 3,600 lbs

Hey Nick. Pull the fuse for the Chevy My Link infotainment system and kill the circuit. It's in the trunk. My 2015 ZL1 had a parasitic draw that was coming from the Chevy My Link head unit. My battery would be at 4v after 3 days. I had to hook up my Battery Tender everyday to keep a charge on the battery. I eventually just pulled the fuse to keep my battery from going dead. I now have a Kenwood system rocking the ZL1 and thus the parasitic draw has been eliminated. The electronics in the Panasonic head unit (My Link) is absolute crap and will eventually fail and cause issues. This may be your root cause for the drained battery and maybe not. Still I would remove the fuse. Good Luck!

Since you have a Holley on you car. You can make your bump button into the scramble button after you release the the trans brake. That away you can grab the scramble in second gear or even first gear. The way it is now you can really do that because you have to shift. Or you could do a air shifter and keep both hands on the wheel and grab the scramble with ur right hand. Also congrats on the 8.5!

Congrats! Yeah starting and stopping at Cecil last Saturday was taking a toll on my car as well. Where’s your starter located? Could be heat soaking the starter requiring to draw more power from the battery trying to get it to start. Just a thought!

You probably won’t see this but I had just lost my amazing grandpa early morning do to a major heart attack and it makes me happy that your dad is going out there with you cause it seems like you have a great supporting father and and you shouldn’t take all these moments for granite it just sucks because in the beginning of October me my dad and his dad which is my grandpa we’re going to start building my gbody 88 Monte Carlo cause my twin turbo kit which is the last piece we need to start and finish would be coming in and good luck to your family and I wish good health on everyone amen.

Man I really don’t like the way it cranks. It sounds like it has a cylinder with low compression and the catch can puking really makes me suspicious. Other that that the freedom rocket it a bad mother I really like the potential. Awesome build.

First congratulations on getting the car going in the right direction. I'm little surprised you didn't back half better with the mph on the first pass though. Although depending on how much boost you had in it up top could be the reason.
I'd also suggest getting a drive shaft sensor if you don't have one. It's valuable information going forward.
Also watch how long you sit on the transbrake. It heats the trans/convert fast and it's going to take a toll on them. Even if it requires you to adjust the converter. Which should be done if it's the converter from the old combination regardless. The transbrake just generates heat so fast. You're talking about as much as 100 degrees per second in come cases but even at 25 degrees per second you can see how quickly the temp goes up. I understand you're just trying to get the car to spool but if you can't get it to spool in a few seconds. Then changes need to be made. It could be the cam, converter, turbo, etc. Many factors at play. Cam could be a big factor if it was designed for a blower and not a turbo this size. Many things to consider.
Anyway good luck and there's no question even at this weight. High 7s are possible once you turn in up. Whatever you do, don't worry about throwing power in it after 400ft. Get the first 330ft figured out, specially the first 60ft. That's where most of the ET comes from.

Looks like the car will be going to the chassis shop over the winter for a SFI up grade. Car can only go 8.50 as it sits. How are you getting away with no window net?
