In this video review Auto Express' Editor-in-Chief, Steve Fowler, gets to grips with the all-new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso.
It looks great on the outside, with sleek LED lights just above the headlights and a grille that looks a bit Star Trek. Round the side, it has typical Germanic lines as opposed to French ones, and clever grey roof rails that go all the way back and sweep round into a C shape. It's really easy to change from a five-seater to a seven-seater, and although headroom isn't fantastic in the third row, it's not too bad altogether.
Upfront, Citroen has gone all posh, with a smart dashboard with some high-quality materials. Although, the bottom half to the cabin does feel a little cheap. There's a wonderful 12-inch screen, and a little touchscreen for the navigation and infotainment systems. You can even get Facebook ... wow.
So, what's it like to drive? The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is not a sporty car and, thankfully, Citroen has avoided the temptation tom ake it ride horribly and handle adroitly. It does lean a bit into corners, but that's not what the car is about, it's about comfort and refinement - on the motorway it's really hushed even at top speeds.
Citroen is really proud of its new engine, a 2.0-litre diesel 148bhp, which is really efficient and manages 67mpg and emits just 110g/km of CO2. The 1.6 diesel with 115bhp and just over 100g/km of CO2 should be a good bet, too.
The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is all about the ease-of-use. It's a comfortable car to drive, and we love the visibility provided by the giant windscreen and massive glass panels. It ticks all the boxes, and as MPVS go right now, it's one of the best.
Without doubt the best review i've seen Steve Fowler do, very well done. The car is very nice too.
Don't forget to mention there is a cooling compartment in the glove box, able to cool 500ml bottle only when u turn on the AC

Just bought the BlueHDI 2L manual, exclusive+ and its exceed my expectations. A beautiful designed car inside and out, and provides an amazing blend of power and economy. I love the amount of technology on board and touches of discrete lighting in the car at night, very cool.
Great review, but why do you sometimes use the steering wheel on the right, and other times use the one of the left? It should make going abroad good.

How come when you got in, it was a left hand drive. When you got out it was left hand drive, but the bit in the middle was right hand drive?

I have moved on to the Grand C4 Tourer.And thers is a big difference in my opinion.The gear change is far smoother and not so notchy.Than the previous model.Fantastic 1.5 liter engine and very economical.Everything about this M.P.V is right not to big and great for my grand kids with the sunroof.Citroen didn't have to change anything to the looks it is a nice looking car.

Did you guys noticed the LED daytime running lights are pulsing when the video starts?
I noticed. But i cant seem to find any information anywhere on how to enable them. Mine stays on forever, doesnt turn off or pulse when the engine is running
Good review, good car but there's something wrong with the sunvisor being on top of your head as the driver, it's unusual. It should be in front of the driver

hi Steve with regards to the load cover if you have a look at Paul O'Neill video Perry's he dose not throw his cover on the floor he puts it in the place that Citroen have supplied. need to do more home work

Still prefer my C8. Shame the PSA group dont make anything as big and comfy as the Eurovan 2 any more.
About 67mpg? Pull the other one problaby in the mid fourty's for a 2litre Diesel.

Yes, good review, and very fresh and stylish design. Great choice if you need this sort of car. Dry, British sarcasm is so lacking these days. Glad this review had some.Steering wheel as birthday cake. Ha!
just had a test drive, drives very nice and is sharper to drive than its predecessor but although I usually like most things techy, I was not over keen on the touch screen, especially having to swap screens just to adjust the temperature, not great while on the move, (technology just for the sake of it !) simple rotary controls work best so if it ain't broke, don't fix it !, a good car but overly fussy controls
Just ordered one and I thought the same on the test drive! Citroen rep couldn't tell me whether you could leave sat nav in top screen and leave AC in bottom screen. Played with it half the test drive and couldn't find a way! Hopefully once it's delivered I'll work it out as it really is tech for the hell of it
Still like them but ended up going a different way, nice machine just a shame about those controls
+nigelcb1300 what did you go for in the end? We looked at tourans and 2 series as well but for the bang for buck, got the exclusive + with full leather for just under 20k so was a no brainer
If you have children please take them with you when buying this because trust me you don’t want to be listening to a 6,4,12 and 15 year olds complaining that there isn’t enough space for them and really there isn’t wish I thought of the children

Wish I could get one of these, but my licence is only automatic from Canada. So that means the dodgy EGS auto. The Toyota Verso is too small compared to this. Have a big dilemma on my hands. ?!

Please don’t waste yourself money on this car. I have brand new 2017 model and it’s already have electric faults, gear hesitate to change automatically. I miss my VW Sharan. That was much easier to drive and never had problem.

Trouble is you've bought the Automatic gearbox version which is pretty much rubbish. The manual proves to be more sensible if you can drive one.

the real illuminati maybe u got very faulty model. But if you have warranty, the service will replace bad parts and the car will be allright for very long time
arkasza2007 ye there is warranty. but 1. you lose a day of work. its not like its 15 minutes fix and you cant work till they fix it. and because it happens so often you lose work days.
2. the warranty doesnt cover anything. recently he had to replace the turbocharger and it cost more then 250-300$.
I'm telling you, this car breaks every freaking time. he is currently selling it and after that going to buy Japanese cars as they where always working good.
the real illuminati it's really strange issue. I got a Xsara Picasso (2002) after my dad and it was and is working troublefree. Now he is looking for a good offer to buy a 5seat C4 Picasso. After this what you had written we are having doubts about this model... Maybe you should talk with citroen seller and they will replace the car for a new one¿
