Talking about cool stories behind bourbon, I'm surprised you didn't point out Horse Soldier (3:40). The company was founded by two soldiers who went on horseback in Afghanistan after 9/11. Several years later, the two soldiers founded the company. Another fun fact, the metal plate on the front of the bottle was molded with steel from the world trade center.
For those of you who haven’t tried Charles Goodnight, to me it’s a brown sugar bomb 💣 I think it’s one of the best Texas bourbons for the price 🍻🍻🍻Great hunt, wish I could of made it out there 🐐🍻👍 next year for sure 💯. Thank you fellas for your service and happy holidays.
Great video and awesome score on the pappy! I saw a Buzzards Roost Cigar Rye on one of those shelves. If you haven’t tried it, I would recommend. They actually discontinued that bottle too. Cheers!
Walmart in mid michigan had 750ml bottles for $12 at Christmas 🫣, Another great video and congrats on the Pappy. Picked up a Stagg, EHT single barrel and a Coy Hill today for MSRP from my favorite liquor store owner, he showed me his Pappy 20 that he has in his office 😵💫👍 . CHEERS and Happy New Year 🥃😉
Great video! I recently got into an allocation event at my local store and got a Blanton's Gold, Stagg, Weller 12, EH Taylor Small Batch, and an Elijah Craig 18 all for MSRP. So far tried the EH Taylor and Stagg and they are both so freaking good, not gonna lie kinda worth the hype to me. Think I am going to open the EC 18 tomorrow!
Also I think that smoke eye hill bp tastes like Elijah Craig c924 "BUT" with a little more maple flavor! I think if you have the option for both and like ECBP's it's cheaper to go for that majority of the time.
😂😂 They moved those 70th anniversary WT to the shelf then. They were four sitting behind the counter by their point system bottles. I asked about them last week on Thursday about selling them. It was odd because I bought two on the shelf, then they moved them behind the counter and now back to the shelves 😅 oh yeah you gotta check out that bar area in the back of the store also. Usually some good stuff there. John J Bowman Single Barrel was there last time I went in(2 bottles). Masters collection maderia finished and so forth
@ I did. And then went to the Buffalo Trace website where the only Pappys listed have at least a 15 year age statement. You taters are obnoxious and insufferable.
It's not rare. They make literally tons of it and ship it all over the globe. Literally thousands of YT'ers have videos finding it and trying it. Sure, maybe it's allocated, or maybe you have a store in your city that always has a bottle at a price tag you can't afford. Or maybe you have to enter a lottery to score at bottle at MSRP. But by definition, it's a mass produced bourbon -- it's not rare. It has the same dent corn (aka corn not meant for direct human consumption) that nearly every single bourbon distiller uses. What's rare, you might ask. A bourbon made with heirloom corn. Try a Wood Hat heirloom bourbon - the man has fewer than 100 barrels. That's rare. 10,000 barrels of Pappys ain't rare.
@@saladsalad9991 it is 100% rare because you can never find these bottles at cost🤣 I’ve searched for over 2 years for one and have yet to come across one until this time.
@ It’s rare to find it at cost, I have collected a few bottles through my city’s ABC lottery system. The state controls the prices, everything at MSRP (only up charge liquor license, or discount the price for ordinary customers). Brewzle, famed YT’er, travels throughout the US and regularly sees Pappy offerings $3,000 in nearly every single video he posts. It’s mass produced. It’s not rare. You’re confusing difficult to justify at secondary prices with it being impossible to collect. Example of a rare bourbon: EH Taylor “survivor” bottle or a bottle from a distillery that grows their own corn variety in extreme limited production. Those are rare. A bourbon you find in tens of thousands of liquor stores and bars all across the globe is not rare and with literally thousands of yt’ers finding it is evidence that it’s not rare.
