You didn’t say anything wrong, but even if you did, you don’t need to stress about it, it’s really complicated and you’re making more of an effort than most. Some of the reactions to Charlie as a character this season, particularly in places like TikTok, have been shockingly insensitive. It’s really nice to see a reactor who is so empathetic to what he is going through, and who recognizes just how terrifying and dangerous an eating disorder can be for the person suffering from it. ❤
Tiktok is a cesspool of toxicity. Nobody on there takes anything serious. It’s usually teens and kids making fucked up comments about serious topics. I blame their parents for making them so chronically online. It’s truly disgusting that people think it’s funny to make fun of someones mental health issues, fictional or not
Morgan, thank you so much for learning more about anorexia, and even watching through this subject as well. This summer I got diagnosed with anorexia and it’s been a tough journey so far. Your videos help me get through the day, you make me laugh and relate to my favorite shows and movies. It took me a lot of thinking and confidence to confess this out on the internet, but I also know that there are so many others that are currently going through or healing from an eating disorder as well. Tara is just feeling the pressure of everyone else’s expectations for her future. Highest possible marks in all her subjects, the teachers assuming that she’ll want to attend a top-tier academically rigorous university, doing all the things an A* student “should” be doing, plus maintaining her relationship with Darcy and keeping up with her dancing. It’s a lot for anyone, much less when you’re 16/17 years old.
I cried again at that ending! I once again said, I won't cry! why am I like this? that's why heartstopper is one of the best shows, all the characters are so relatable! I wished more people would watch this show! I dealt with depression last year so this makes me hurt for Charlie, to the point the mental health stuff is hard to watch. but yet it's so relatable. great reaction can't wait for the next episode and I love your shirt!

Hi Morgan you have got this so right, this is why Nick is so upset and scared about Charlie's illness because he has done the research and knows that anorexia is a big killer especially of teenagers and as someon who has seen people suffer from anorexia they both play their parts unbelievably well, especially Charlie who cleverly doesn't over pay they symptoms, he is very realistic.
29:13 Oh, Morgan, I understand you perfectly! I spent my whole life feeling confused, that I didn’t completely understand myself, and at the ripe old age of 40 I figured out that I was bisexual. And I spent the next 2 days staring at the ceiling, re-examining my entire life, and now every memory, every unknown feeling and urge i felt around certain guys in my past finally made sense. It’s never to late to learn about yourself, but I wish I had known this earlier in my life, it would’ve turned out differently. This is why I’m happy for the kids in Heartstopper (and queer kids IRL) : they get to grow up already knowing who they are.

I think you’re handling this subject really sensitively and the fact you have done research shows you care. Watching how scared and hesitant Nick was to broach the subject at the end broke me. Him saying that Charlie just seems sad sometimes too. It’s so simple but so powerful. I was so happy that Charlie didn’t run or push him away though. Start of his healing ❤

I knew I wouldn't be only one who got a tear at that last bit as that I know is so true who loves and hates how real this show gets I mean first thing that got me and I've seen a lot of negative things , I also love how good they are repusenting all the topics
So I will say him ripping his sandwich up is less a direct part of the anorexia and more related to his "rules" about food he mentioned. He feels like he has to rip it into small bites before he eats it. Otherwise, he can't eat it. Even though I don't have it nearly as badly as others, I struggle with OCD, and I sometimes feel a strong pressure to do things a certain way (sometimes connected to food and sometimes just other things). I've learned not to give in as much over time after recognizing it as OCD, but it's still very uncomfortable when I don't listen to it.
Thanks for everything you're doing Morgan 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And a small bit of encouragement to hopefully help with the anxiety: even if you mispeak and get corrected, the openness you have to being corrected and the way you take accountability if you are is honestly just as inspiring and wonderful an example that seems so rare these days. When I first read this in the books I was crying for at least 2 hours. I couldnt read the rest I got stuck on those pages for at least a day until I had the will to end it. I reread it yesterday and cried again. It's so beautifully heartwrenching portrayed in either the book and the show.
I relate so much to Tori. As an older sister with a younger sibling who had mental health issues, and as someone who also would walk very silently and accidentally scare people I feel so seen (also some more stuff from the comics that I'm not sure they are including in the show)
I find interesting that both Darcy at Tara's birthday party and Charlie at Nick's birthday party are obsessed about everything being perfect and very much ignoring the conversations their partners actually want to have and that they are compensating.
About what youve been saying with pronouns and presentation - the non-binary spectrum isnt just androgyny and they/them pronouns. Pronouns =/= gender, people can be pronoun non-conforming. Anyone can go by any pronouns. Enbies can use she/her, he/him, it/its, neopronouns - and so can the binary genders, too. Its not just they/them for enbies, or she/her + he/him for binary people. The non-binary spectrum has feminine genders, masculine genders, neutral genders, outherine genders, xenine genders - its not just androgynous genders. So even if someone is pronoun-conforming, a non-binary person might be, for example, a demigirl, girlflux, a fenby, etc and use she/her. (Love you, Morgan! We hope you dont take this as us being upset with you, cuz we definitely aren't. Also, good on you for researching anorexia! It's very important.)

(Just a quick backstory, Eurovision is a VERY popular song contest know for its camp-ness and gayness in Europe and Australia it attracts thousands of fans every year and the winner of the contest has to host next year in this case nemo won with their song the ode so Switzerland will have o host next year.) but on a serious note nemo had another song previous to the code called -this body- which talk about not being comfortable in your own skin and wanting to feel safe in yourself and i think you should react to both song but for the code react to the live version . Yes as someone wirh mental health issues, they gave a oretty good glimpse of what some of us go through.
