I read this book in high school and didn't really get it because I was young and dumb but it still had a pretty profound impact on me. Soon I will have to go through the entire series properly to really appreciate it.
Reverend Eccles and his wife my fave characters
@@noochinator Agreed. I'm not a very religious man myself but I admired the Reverend's devotion to Rabbit and his attempts to make him into a better husband and father.
@@silversnail1413 Rev. Eccles made a brief appearance in 'Rabbit Redux' (1969) but Updike cut it-- the scene has been restored in at least one later edition

BBC radio 4 had this and the other books as a radio play but it's off the iPlayer now.
