That Time an Artifact Folded Spacetime | Dwarf Fortress Lore
#dwarffortress #lore #wiki - Ігри
The current bug has to do with meeting areas overlapping the workshop, causing it to for one reason or another, make the dwarf keep gathering the second to last item on a repeating cycle until the meeting area is no longer over the workshop. Otherwise the dwarf seems to go insane regardless of how much material it gathers.
Hope this helps someone, it took some researching a week ago but I had a dwarf collect 50 cloths before I found out what was causing it.
Easily reproduced but seems to be only a chance to happen, as I have had dwarves not glitch in adjacent workshops that were also overlapped.
Unlimited adamantine 😂
I somehow like the idea of "Mega-Artifacts" :D
Though i wish it wasnt a bug related thing rather than a really really rare occurrence like catching a shiny pokemon xD
A video about Cacame Awemedinade, the Elf-King of the dwarves, would be neat.
I second this!
I was just re-reading the wiki page on Cacame yesterday, as I just got an elf king who I'm hoping to make a dwarf out of!
I love the meta-lore of Dwarf Fortress
I knew this would be about Planepacked when I saw the title! ^_^
The mechanics of how it happened might be understood now, but even so, getting such a perfect name at the discovery of the bug was pure serendipity.
God damn… some DF bugs create the most legendary and insane shenanigans.
There use to be a bug where *candy* spires would fill all z levels instead of just a few above the clown house...
like the sims, Dwarf Fortress patch notes can and often are an utterly wild ride to read...
and with how interlocked systems can be, I loved hearing the long story and chain of events that caused cats to suddenly drop dead after they added Bars and Taverns to Dwarf Fortess
(Spoilers: it had to do with cats walking through puddles and then picking up an entire mugs worth of ale from the puddle, before cleaning it off themselves with grooming, drinking an entire mug of ale off each foot and slowly dying of alcohol poisoning)
My submission would be Rosmo Queenales, Story linked on the "DF2014:Intelligent undead" page of the wiki
Love that new Video type! I Would love to see a video about Boatmurdered someday :D
Wiki lore would be a cool series to watch
This video was super dope. Please do more, for sure
This is a fun new video type.
Best video you ever did*. This is fascinating.
Wow, thanks!
A curated dive in texts I'm not going to read myself is nice to have. Thx blind.
Love the wiki lore idea. I have spent many hours reading the wiki and missed this gem.
Planepacked is such a wonderful name considering what it actually is
This happened to me in the first steam fort I built. I had never heard or experienced this "bug"(feature) before so I was pleasantly surprised to find the entire forts cloth supply inside the workshop. More cloth was being made as the dwarf , now know as the Cultist of sheets, was collecting collecting cloth I would often see him running back and forth to the loom to get his fresh fix of the stuf.
My guess is that the self referencial part of of the bug is that the artifact itself is created and registered as a potential image before its description is generated. So there might be a small chance for a regular artifact to contain an image of itself.
I think I had something similar to this but my dworf was non stop grabbing yarn cloth
Can someone help? I could have sworn that I heard "procedurally generated sports" in a recent Blind video. I believe it was talking about sports that were accessable in Adventure mode. Is this actually a thing or did I completely make it up?
They are a thing and they're accessible in Legends mode. As in you can read about them. They don't exist anywhere else in the game to my knowledge.
A Historical Artefact the goblins will demand belongs to them XD
This is really cool. Thanks for making this new style of video. I hope they continue.
good wiki reads mixed with personal experience. I liked it!
I know everyone in the comments is clamoring for Boatmurdered, I would love to hear you talk about Cacame Awemedinade, the Elf who became King of the Dwarfs.
Loving these dwarf fortress lore vids!
very cool
any idea of circumstances that allowed you to create them in recent versions though?
interested in more of these, very entertaining :)
mega-artifacts are so wild -- much like the rest of DF. I'd love to see more of these~
I like info like this very interesting and entertaining 😊😊
This is a good idea for a series
I thought my inner hipster would hate the steam release, but now I'm just glad it's getting attention and great content made about it.
wikiloooooooore
Yes please more dwarf lore it's amazing 🤩
*looks at his pile of 1200 brass bars*
Ummm, please no?
Brassburned
Moar things like this!
I had one of these fail cause I don’t have another material for them
What about the time all of my dwarves climbed out of my screen and kissed my belly.
What a hullabaloo
Would we ever see a Lore on the god Armok? Or are something’s better left to the mind’s explanation…
He did it
👌
hello good, I need help with my fortress, one of my dwarves has entered in a strange mood, the thing is that it seems that his desire for cloth is infinite, so far he has around 100 pieces of cloth to assemble his artifact and still It doesn't stop like that, it doesn't let me make clothes, F for the socks. thnx
ah, in the fixed comment is the solution, thanks XD
More of this. Maybe explaining a mechanic in more detail but less tutorial more just talking about.
