I have a shelf holding a photo of him hugging a teddy bear. I also have a photo of a deceased friend taken by this opioid crisis. Every morning, I clasp my hands and thank a higher power for giving me this man. I bow in respect for the lessons he has taught me. I ask for the willingness to accept myself and my circumstances and that I may be kind and loving to bear witness to those I would help.
My goal for my life is to find peace with time and listening to ajahn brahm makes that goal feel achievable i am grateful for discovering his dharma talks. ❤️🦋
super beautiful ajahn, i also would like to thank the hoost for his eloquent way in putting forth the questions. thanks dhamma friends, peace & joy to you all!
this talk is hands down the most clarifying and useful thing I have ever heard said about meditation. this actually makes me want to sit down: its motivating and makes meditation an attractive, lovely time instead of a chore. great talk.
I really need your teachi gs right now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your kind and open compassion. Im learning to love life and myself again through this new poibt of view of the dhama.
I have to say, I just love your levity. One of the first things my Buddhist teacher told me was that I was way too serious. I was surprised to hear this. But as time passes, I appreciate this message more and more.
He's great. He has really good energy. I met him in London. He makes me so comfortable. I sleep to his talks. I even find the meditation calming. No one talking, but I can hear them, still.
Ajahn Brahm is a worthy monk, and I believe has reached anagami or arahant stage - different stages of enlightenment in Pali language with the last being the highest. Ajahn Brahm is a living saint.
one of his talk stopped my onset of ptsd. just in one talk! amazing! it redirected my thinking, then boom just gone! one symptom of ptsd is nightmares. I was having nightmares of the man that did something bad to me for a really long time was coming after me again, but in a violent way. I sometimes while awake would relive the worse things he did to me. I was begging to think I really needed serious help before it got worse. then bam, gone. adore this man.
Listening to your talk is my routine. So much of your talks resonated with me and I feel a lot better day by day. Words cannot describe how I appreciate what you handed down me. Thank Ajahn Brahm
TM transcends the mind..it allows the body mind and spirit to find deep rest within its inner home and which doesn't require figuring anything else. natural as falling asleep
That happened to me, except when I came out of my meditation, I found my organs had been removed. I had to tell the surgeons to put them back in again! Boy did we laugh about that one.
Dear Ajahn & Friends. I have a consultation, I an new to meditation (Only 5 months daily) thanks to Ajahn Brahms great video teachings, but every time I start meditating my eyes water a lot and I start yawning. It only happens at the beginning of meditation but once I wipe my eyes and continue with my meditation I am fine. Is it normal it happens? Please any guidance will be appreciated. thanks.
How do these guys/gals sit full lotus for so long?! I use to sit full lotus and meditate until my knees got so sore I had to stop. It’s really messed up my meditation practice. I now do it sitting straight up which just isn’t the same for me. I no longer can reach states of pure calm.
what's he talking about? suppressing coughs? In TM.breathing and coughing and sneezing are not issues. It's true the ancient meditation technique has generally gotten lost. Imo TM comes closest to the original form of meditation.
Larry Primeau He says that should NOT suppress coughs etc. pls be aware that he often uses humor where he will talk of doing xyz in a stern voice.... this is called light sarcasm and is meant to show what others do that may not be such a great idea. Pls listen to the talks from the Western Australian Buddhist Society to get a clear idea of how truly lovely this man is.
