"Have you listened to X and X?" Actually I have! My W203 has Harman Kardon audio and it's amazing! The clarity, the power, the bass... Everything is superb!
Listening to the guitar solo from Comfortably Numb on a superior audio system is almost like sex.
Totally harman audio is legendary,look same but not , harman is audiophiles art and science.
I own an AMG CLA45 with this system, and I can say that it's an entirely different listening experience from my BMW. The sound is much cleaner, flatter and the fidelity is quite good, but if you're "all about the bass" you're going to be disappointed with the HK system.

I have it in the 2016 Lexus GX, 17 speakers...or maybe 16. The car and the sound system were designed together, this system is to the bone. I sometimes ride around in the car listening to my play list via bluetooth long after I should be home. If ears could see. It's a whole body experience. I won't buy a car without this system now. When I was 17, I bought a Sansui 9090 receiver and a pair of Bose 901's. I have always valued
the quality of the music I listen to. This HK makes it real.
I have this setup in my c350 and i also had the bmw individual audio in my 335. BOTH will sound mediocre with feeds from radio, satellite, or mp3 BUT man do they come up live with FLAC or any other HD audio sources. in order to "hear" these systems you need high quality music, otherwise get your iphone buds and be done with it.
its true, for you to feel the full effect of the HK system, you will need to have high quality music, which means where you download your music plays a big part.

I’ve switched from an Audi S3 with a B & O sound system to a CLA with HK 6 days ago, there is a noticeable difference. I haven’t yet decided which one is better though.

Does it play DVD-Audio (DVD-a) discs like the acura els system?
You may have an option on their web pages where we can find information (PDF files) about the old models or already discontinued their audio equipments, before were those options, I do not know because now they are no longer available, yet many old items sold and discontinued Harman (for example, I have two receivers AVR330 and AVR145 and HK750 amplifier Infinity speakers and the years' 90s), so it is necessary that you have this option, since often not found on the web, or sellers do not have the original manuals (anytime i'm buying and selling Harman Kardon, JBL, Infinity audio equipment).... from already thank you if this is possible, or otherwise where is that option before you could see on their website is? .... Thanks.
just for fact every in harman is team company produce any audio output but keep the flat harman curve.

All the reviews I have seen som far says the system sounds bad. Are they using it wrong? Does it need surround sound music to play right or so?

Retrofit a Harman Kardon system? It's gonna be difficult, given the fact you need to tear apart the entire interior, to fit the new speakers in and need a friend with STAR, but it is doable. If you have the time and tools, go for it.
If you plan on having the dealer put it in, don't bother. It's gonna cost you a used Mercedes.

I recovered the AK Logic 7 system from my old W245 from 2006. Can I mount it on my "new" W176 from 2015?
Just change to Harman infinity and Harman JBL system is more better for open stage wide experience.😊
I drive a CL 550 which in 2014 was their highest end and the HK system sucks! The speakers actually look nice through the grill because they are components but the problem is the AMP! It’s just too under powered! Some do have the option for the 34 speaker system with twice the power but the standard HK system needs more power. I also have their home old home audio receiver I got in 06’(340z) and for $695 it only delivered 55watts per channel(7 channels). When I called about that, I was told that’s all at the same time and most receivers give you ratings one channel at a time. I now have a cheaper Yamaha 5 channel receiver that’s at 100 watts ch(still powering in 7.2 THX) and the sound is actually brighter! I think they are selling their products based on name alone.

daltex81 Well son it’s actually not! The 340z on put out 70 Watts per channel in two channel stereo mode with the FTC(federal Trade) Approved stamp. This is a 2006 HK 340z that weighs 30lbs and used old circuitry and gave off a lot of heat. The newer HK are more digital and lighter and they are now doing 75-100 Watts per channel in 7.2(all channels driven). What you have to realize son is not one movie will require “all channels driven” @ max level at the same time so that spec to me is irrelevant! My old Optimus receiver did 110x2 & 5.1 @R50+C50+L50- rear 25+ 25 (FTC approval) and it was just as strong sounding. You actually have to double the power to hear 3db or more different. A receiver saying it’s 100x5 is actually 50x5 and will sound as good as a Older HK that is rated 55x5 @ all channels driven. Damping factors and other things matter when dealing with a home system. It not like a car stereo...🤨

Bring back Logic 7 to your receivers. Your new model receivers have crappy sounding amps compared to a decade ago. Disgrace to H/K legacy.
Logic7 was legendary in H/K AVR recievers and Lexicon RV series recievers.

This system sucks horse balls...Beautiful advertisement but horrible sound. Just bought my CLA45 AMG, awesome car but so freaking disappointed with the sound system. Logic7, my ass..... My friend's Hyundai Sonata has a better sound system... :{
