- -Ear Training doesn't have to be a bummer. I found a way to make it fun by including backing tracks, or Challenge Songs, so you can learn by hearing full-band musical examples. For Practical Ear Training you only need your guitar or bass to follow along. The rest of the series is being filmed now and will be uploaded and available to anyone who's a member of the site: www.the-art-of-guitar.com Have fun!

Thanks!!!
I play guitar by ear.....though tbh i think i should use fingers as its less awkward and painful
Ba dum bump. (Cymbal crash)
Doh!
Trust me, once you get more wax in there things get MUCH easier.
It’s like when people say “made by hand.” Well… durr. Lol. I’d like to see something that says “made by feet.” That would be weird. 😆
Related to your Wrong Teacher video (a year or so ago - and this one), consider this saying: "Those who know...do. Those who understand...Teach". Thanks for what you do and have a great day, sir!
Thank you for this, and thank you for including us lowly bass players
This was awesome. I learned how to sight read vocals 30+ years ago using similar techniques, but I never applied it to ear training. This could be really beneficial.
Incredible lesson on ear training. I still have the melody in my head. Thank you.
100% getting this series. I need this
Love this so much! I really need to kick myself up the butt and start properly working on this. I've learned from various things that I have pretty good ears, and a teacher of mine even said that to me after I'd instantly noticed i'd made a mistake with something, I just need to use them and get to work at training them to be better.
Congrats on 716K Subscribers!
🔥🤘
This is an awesome video! Thanks Mike
Thank you Mike! 😁 I’m interested in developing my ear training🎶🎧. I appreciate your channel and always try to catch your live streams 😎
Awesome lesson and super useful. Can't wait for the next one!
Just what I needed!! Thanks, Mike!! 👍👍👍
Dude this is exactly what I wanted to hear and see. Thanks!
awesome, thanks so much! you are an amazing teacher!!
Thanks Mike for this, appreciate it
Thanks Mike, I needed this 🤘
Thank you! Very helpful 🙂
I've always been able to learn guitar by ear. That's mainly how I learned to play guitar, by ear and sight.
Best way to learn
that was so helpfull thank you...
The one I use is the Star Wars theme.
you're great man. thank you. i will become a member
Hello, wonderful tips! What Jazzmaster series this guitar is?
I could see how someone could benefit from this- personally, I would say doing those harmonies on my joke videos really helped me with major/minor thirds and perfect fifths. So far the only note I can find without thinking on the first try on every string is E. I mean technically A, too, because of Eugene’s Trickbag.
Man I really should practice guitar more lol.
I’m guessing the next video will be about 3rds
Hey Mike, how did you stripe your evh 5150? I want to do it to mine too
With that guitar tone and playing root then fifth,, add some vibrato and it's a SpongeBob riff.
Why am I suddenly envisioning The Kids in the Hall theme?
I tried some myself before this video when I was mucking around. The beginning bit of the challenge song sounds like something I heard during Chinese New Year LOL
Just to say but it's not "Ti Do" it's "Si Do" ;)
This is my biggest weakness when it comes to music.
I was like oh, this could be an interesting lesson and summit I wanna check out the try... Then you lost me at only 2 minutes in hahaha :'(
pretty sure i am tone deaf or something. I feel like my ears play tricks on me.
