- Not a very clean run but least I managed to get sub 6. Those cats are making this fight even more luck based than usual (especially when you use GS, CB or Hammer) and I got tired of dealing with that, so I uploaded this run anyway.

Damn, I don't remember the CB in MHGen/MHX causing this many staggers and flinches. This makes it feel like MH4U's CB all over again. I like it.
That new combo in axe mode is just disgusting. I love it. Really well done Canta, wish I could speed run like you.
As a CB main I must say the brave mode discharge is so satisfying.
Why didn't they just make Brave style instead of Adept in the first place? I know Adept helps some weapons, but Brave just feels so much more refined.
CuttingEdges the play style is a lot more different though. adept is kinda like dodge and hit the enemy the enemy.

CuttingEdges well what i mean is that you use the adept dodge as your main play style. In brave, i personally find brave dodge as a just an additional effect. Look how he just use brave dodge to just evade those that are hard to dodge. Additionally, brave dodge makes you sheath your weapon so it's not really a good tempo play. Well at least it makes you run after the brave dodge. Also when you are at brave mode, your attack changes so it's more complicated than adept. In my opinion adept has a more flexible dodge and more simple as it can be used almost every time while brave had a more complex play style that you should focus on being on brave style before doing damage. Well when I play brave, i spam "Y and X or R" to get my gauge full faster. I think you know what I mean if you play brave.

Holy crap, that Reload into Elemental Discharge 2.
CB might be even better than before with the GP+dodge and the Axe mode phial combos are really amazing and if by mistake an ultra charge is done the blue shield doesn't disapear as is Brave Gauge reliant. That's a another solid weapon.
It's good but it lacks the mobility it had in 4U

It's just the tundra area theme. The fact that it's listed as "his" theme in the OST doesn't mean anything.
I wish the tundra was in MHXX, it's so much better than the Frozen Seaway
I'd honestly say the Arctic Ridge theme fits Barioth better than the Tundra theme.
+Adam Stewart I have to agree. I think the Tundra theme has this feeling of urgency that fits Gigginox a little bit better personally.
...please bring back Gigginox for XX capcom.
+RandomNPC Gigginox is one of the few monsters I hate but at the same time, I want it to return.
I feel like Brave & Alchemy style are gonna be those 2 styles that I wanna use because they look fun, but are confusing & hard to use.
That's my only fear about MHXX right now.
Monster Hunter has always been an obtuse game, but if you stuck with it this long, you'll be able to figure out the new styles within a few hours easily.

Atomic_Thomas brave is really simple. still kinda like guild style when not on brave mode but has less attacks. while on brave mode you unlock these attacks and more. also brave dodge and better "B" dodge

So, to do the sword mode A attack you need to either go in sheating stance or do it after a shield bash?
The mobility in axe mode is crazy. It's the biggest feature of this style imo.
You can use Y + A to charge shield or normally after shield bash.
And, is it true what everyone says?
Do these evades have innate Evasion+2 or is that just people speculating based on good runs?
If you had a mega dash juice, would you be able to spam that weird sort-of-archdemon-mode-dash thing? I haven't played a lot of CB in MHGen, but I definitely don't recognize the dash or the addition to the phial combo

mah, i'm slaying the barioth in the arena grudge match,
i swear there is something off about that barioth, while in your case it slowly turns around to face you,
in the arena it just keeps jumping around, preventing me from sniping him :/

Monster AI behavior changes whenever you enter the quest
Sometimes they act stupidly docile and sometimes they act like hyperactive kid on crack who can't sit still for a second

Eh, I'm not quite sure about this Brave CB... The Axe Mode A loop definitely looks strong, and Guard Point while dodging should be useful, but I definitely prefer the stationary Guard Point that GL got (and that 4U CB had). The weapon still looks clunky to use like in Gen, except now it has a strong spammable attack.
I know that the Blue Shield in brave mode has a really impressive K.O power. But what about the Blue blade with LS?

So I just got comfortable using the CB on MHW. And when I say comfortable I mean I'm slaying most tempered elders in 10-15 minutes comfortable. It's become my new favorite weapon. So naturally I've defaulted to guild style in MHGU. What tips do you or anyone reading this have for me going into valor style CB?
Shield Thrust into AED/SAED and GP into AED/SAED were removed in Gen, and in GU. This guts the CB quite a bit. Striker and Aerial are by far the strongest CB styles, with Valor coming in third because Striker has stronger axe attacks and Aerial has a stronger, and more spammable AED.
All CB styles except Aerial now focus on charging up, getting into axe mode, circling a monster and getting a headsnipe. Valor relies on flinches from ED I + II + III, which makes it weaker against end-game monsters because they don't flinch as often. Check out Rainy's old Striker CB videos, and there are lots of Japanese Striker CB videos on UA-cam, and a couple Valor ones. Eri comes to mind.
Aerial is different - it's the only style to require a prerequisite armor skill to play (Load Up makes it very offensive style, because yellow sword charge is all you'll need for 5 phials), and it's about hopping onto the monster or monster's attacks and then aiming for the head with an AED (press A in the air with red shield). Aerial AEDs have a motion value of 90, versus other style's MV of like 75 or something.
@@JamalPollok thanks. But 2 days later I'm a valor CB main and your telling me the other ones are better lol smh. I actually tried the other ones in the training room, adept and aerial specifically. Now Im so comfortable with Valor I don't feel like I can get into those until Arrekz puts out his guide on it. I tried watching gaijin hunter and others but I don't think I can learn as much the way he teaches vs the way Arekkz does. That's just me though. But I will check out the person you recommended as well. And tbh I disagree because I feel like I'm spamming axe attacks with valor, kinda the same way the person in this video is doing it, it is a very viable style, it just takes setup and timing.
