The calculation is 3x the footprint of the crib. Each piece of wood he's using is 4 x 4. If you place four of them next to each other, it's going to be 16 x 16. Three times that is 48". This also assumes that they are cut to 16" lengths.
i was wonder what auto crib was and came along this. i'm still not sure why cribbing is needed as someone who is under vehicles daily. if this is just to spray water under the car just let that baby burn to the ground. your efforts costs more than the car.
