Cat Bed CNC Project | Freud Sponsored Project

- This pet bed is just the right size for cats or small dogs. This project features multiple duplicate curved parts, making it the perfect project for the CNC. Cutting the hoops and spacer rings that make this project would be very time consuming with a jigsaw or band saw, but it's fast and easy with a CNC router. This pet shelter provides shelter and privacy, but the slatted sides also give the cats a view to peek through.

Must have been a great success if they are fighting over it :) Thanks for sharing ॐ
I cant seem to find the plans for this project.
Gosh, I can't seem to even get a few $100.oo tools and consumable/supplies, I can not begin to imagine the cost here...
Most likely his cat lays GOLD'N EGGS often. Have you checked the prices of Baltic Birch lately !?
Geesh that looks crazy expensive in materials costs!
It is not cheap ... especially if you are buying new plywood for the piece. If you have some smaller pieces of ply around the shop, that helps.
Instead of cutting one hoop and then flipping the board end for end to cut out the other hoop, couldn't you have simply programmed the machine to cut out both hoops from the sheet?
Nowadays everyone seems to have small home cnc.. are them inexpensive?
Some are and some are not too bad.
If you have a 3d printer, or a friend with one, they're not that expensive.

What the heck is a TAP file and how do I convert it to my machine format I use Fusion 360 asmy file creator.
Change the .tap to .gcode . It's just straight ascii gcode with a weird extension.
Peter Menningen it is an extension that Enroute software assigns to cut files.
Why do you need an engraving bit? Where is the engraving? What's the purpose of it?
The number of the hoop ... so you can keep them in order.
Next time use a pencil. ;)
Changing the bit twice (and having to zero it twice) for every hoop is a waste of time.
Krešimir Cindrić no, it is work done right ...
Oh my Lord could you make it any more expensive have you priced Baltic birch plywood lately
From comparing the VCarve file to the video I have a few questions:
1) The hoop count is different, 15 vs 17. Why?
2) I don't see the a cut for the end piece without a hole
3) The numbering sequence it's consistent and has repeats, why?
4) What does the hoop labeled "C" signify? Where do I use it?
5) The VCarve spacers don't have a flat side but the video's do, why?
Perhaps the VCarve file that's linked to isn't the final version?
The dxf is even worse it does not have the washers in the files Why not just give the real designs in the normal design formats that are currently used like sketchup, Fusion, Autocad, etc.
I’d rather make it with a jigsaw.
Tom Marliere Psssh! Real men use a hand scroll saw 😂
bucknaked31 I'll make it with my teeth !!
I'll make it by blowing the wood away!
Who’s up for the machine gun ?
