This was very helpful. My pegs were pulling out on a bass I was re-stringing. I tried a 45 degree angle on the bottom of the pegs, but your idea works regardless of bridge plate thickness. Thank you!
The natch in the bridge plate may not be large enough for the wrap on the strings to anchor the end ball- if you increase the gauge of strings the wrap is to large for the notch..**DR KEL

My bridge pin won’t stay in I tried everything you said but when I pull on it to see if it’s loose it always comes out and I don’t even tug hard
string might be thick

Yaa bro keep your finger on the bridge pin and start tuning the string after totally tuned it won't come out.....
