Also why wheelpros has allegedly such a bad influence on their content? Why specifically? And why did they sell the shop? So many questions and sadly they don't seem to care enough about their original fanbase to explain it themselves..
Basically you're right. They were sold to Wheel Pros and after that things've changed. You have to understand that before that it was Ken and Brian that defined the kind of crazy content that we know for years. So now that they sold the company they have to follow rules put by the buyers that don't want the "Hoonigan" kind of content. Is more "arbitruary" and "responsable". And for the worst they started to doing the worst brand deals with huge car companies in the "This vs. That" like that Kia EV vs. Ferrari. We don't even have the crew working on cars anymore. So the guys that were part of the series basically quit and started their own things. What Wheel Pros didn't realized is that Hoonigan is not only a brand, is the people behind the scene and in front of the camera. @@Harry_Gersack
@@ADSImagens hmm responsible is not the first thing for me that comes to mind when thinking about how the content has changed. For me it feels like the videos are lower effort and more for the broad masses and not for the real car guys anymore. I know renting an airport or building a dirt track is not the least effort you can put in a video. But I see it like that: they rent the location and then they do the races and in one day they can get content for like 10 videos or so. I think compared to the hoonage and scumbaggery we know from years ago, that this is a easy way for them to make content. And from a technical perspective the videos have gotten really shallow. Not the true car guy content anymore. Probably helps to reach more viewers.. On the other hand I've recently rewatched a view daily transmissions from the donut garage and some of them had much more views than the videos from now
I was about to comment this on the Goodbye to Hoonigan video but I was afraid it was gonna get lost and figured I had a better chance of you reading this here so.. I never really cared for Hoonigan but I saw you appear in the DDE video so I decided to watch this and man, you seem like one of the most genuine, down to earth, sensible, full of emotion guys I’ve ever come across and even tho I don’t know you all that well, I wish you all the best on your journey and I hope you achieve everything in life that you desire and wish for. And whatever happens I’m sure that, like me, a lot of people will stick along for the ride brother. 🙌🏻
Cool cars, always. What I really enjoyed was the community and social aspect of it. Dropping in to see what others are up to, going to cars-n-coffee, driving, while your main story was talking about the financial risks of expensive cars. I guess that would be called the "B story". A lot of other UA-cam channels out there seem like they are working in isolation because it never shows them interacting with the larger community except to do collaborations that feel too staged.
You are doing the thing already. You are a part of the automotive cultural phenomenon that was Hoonigan. You stay connected with your friends from there, you buy cars because of your passion, you have your own unique perspective, and you're used to talking to camera. My deepest hope is that the lot of you guys all figure out that your contributions to that entity are valuable on their own as well and deserve their own deep dives. The "Oh, that's just Vin being Vin" or "Scotto being Scotto" brush offs to keep to the Hoonigan format doesn't apply anymore. You've got the content built in, and people will either stay because they enjoy it or not. Stop caring about what you think people want and just do you. And bring a camera. The rest will sort itself out. The happiest content creators are the most genuine ones. Hell, we saw Suppy smile today.
I've commented the same thing under a lot of other comments on this video, but: I agree. Haha! Refreshing to see the wholesomeness of the people in here.
The point about mileage is so solid. Cars that have been driven have had some attention paid to them (especially older enthusiast cars). Plus, leaving a car sitting without taking care of it is potentially one of the worst things you can do to it aside from actually wrecking it.
So i only discovered you with the recent DDE vid and have to say your vlogs are perfect for where you are at. It gives you momentum and freedom to grow in certain directions, and you are naturally really talented at talking to camera and sharing your enthusiasm. Keep going!
Personally I find that following someone on the inside of the car scene, watching them meet people, see their cars and share their opinions makes for the best content. I really loved Hoonigan's Carcain Abroad series and Scotto's Van series, and this video reminds me of those. Something about simplicity and honesty and real life setting makes it enjoyable. I would gladly watch more vids in the similar format, and if you go on a road trip, make sure to film it aswell.
You are in a unique position compared to other UA-camrs and that is, your viewers are invested in you as a person. Your time on Hoonigan gave us all a chance to get to know you and feel as if you're a "friend" so to be honest, most of us are just curious what you're doing on a day-to-day. UA-cam viewers are a voyeuristic bunch and we enjoy living vicariously thru the lives of people we relate to, & the same is especially true for car guys. We can't afford all the cars we really want so we enjoy watching others do it. Unfortunately for you that means you should just be a vlogger. Show us what you're doing. Even if it seems boring and mundane to you, it's a distraction from our own boring lives to watch how you live yours. I'm sure I speak for a lot of your fans when I say, we're just curious how you make a living playing with cars since that's all any of us really want to do ourselves. The other thing I'll say is, take advantage of your relationships with the OG Hoonigan crew and introduce us to your other car guy personalities. There are 2 keys to a successful UA-cam channel; being good at what you do (I think that counts you out as a car builder ;-) sorry) and being an entertaining personality (that's your bread and butter). Jimmy Oakes channel does well because he's pretty good at both but where he really shines is his crew of friends that all seem to be having a good time playing with cars. Show us you and your friends having a good time playing with cars. We'll watch that, promise.
Doubt I'll ever own a super car but i dig leaning anything i can automotive wise. I'd like to see videos on all the stuff you mentioned, especially how to flip cars successfully. Also, you're killing it cinematicly IMHO. I've enjoyed all the videos so far, keep it up man.
In terms of content ideas for the channel, I think a bi-weekly/ monthly podcast with literally anyone interesting of your choice would be pretty cool, sitting back, relaxing and just talking about cool cars, good times, and having some laughs. Very enjoyable content dude, glad you’re doing your own thing!
These types of videos are exactly what we want, car based videos but with the social aspect of car life and making money with cars, driving cars, the dogs, everything, even the editing is top notch. Keep up the great work
you're right. you cant afford it. you're smart enough to see it wears on your mental state and all we truly have in the end is time. not worth it in the end to be that stressed. sell it brotha. you'll get it back soon enough when the time is right. excellent vid. keep em coming, 999
I love this kind of content. Hearing about how to flip cars and make money is definitely something I'm interested in. I suffer greatly from scope creep and can't leave anything not perfect, so I feel like I always spend way too much on a project.
Unpacking the finance of this life is super valuable. Culturally, people are far too scared to talk about their personal finance journey. Financial education is sorely lacking. Please keep sharing this. The best information on finance could help people manage their way into the hobby.
This content is brilliant, its refreshing and honest. The editing is great, the mix of informative content and more personal stuff with seeing your dogs and Amy and the familiar faces is a nice balance. You're one of the big reasons I enjoyed DT so much and I'm glad you're still making content
I like where your going with these vlogs. Nice - and I fully understand your view............I share it. Keep sharing - a full one combination of finance, value, prep, valet etc............. the full story.
This was such refresher for me. Thank you for sharing some knowledge, I can’t even begin to explain how well this video was able to grab my attention and keep it. Already these couple videos have been great to watch, I’ll definitely always be quick to watch any more to come when I see them.
Just keep doing you and don't stop because everyone loves to hear what you gotta say! I've been watching you for years now and I along with many other love watching every minute! You are every smart and funny, so don't every stop being you! Mad love and respect brother!
video style, pacing, and editing are killer for vid number 3!! just remember lighting, a couple shots at the start have you super dark vs your background. Can't wait for more content!
I recently sold a low mileage E46 M3 6MT coupe. All original paint, no accidents, no scratches, lots of nice OEM+ extras... I enjoyed driving the car, but only for joyrides and not on the track, because I didn't want to take the chance of getting it damaged. Knowing that the car would have been practically impossible to replace and a lot of its value was because of the mileage and condition took the fun out of owning it. I bought a 2020 M2C and I'm finally having fun behind the wheel.
Hit the nail on the head on multiple fronts. The struggle is real with having the car and having to think about the "what ifs" before every drive or having to think about if there is safe parking near your destination. Makes jumping in a Raptor or overland Cayenne Diesel the decision 9 time out of 10.
Vin, you can brain dump ANYTHING and you will get 100k views and I for sure will be here. Thank you for picking up the camera and continuing on. This was truly enjoyable to watch!
Happy to watch you drop any type of knowledge I think you've done things a lot of people aspire to do, whether that's flipping cars up to your dream car, your job at Hoonigan or simply just owning tastefully modded cars. I think casual / honest conversations about any of this is great content
Woke up early to watch this first thing! Turned out great, really informative without being just a sit-and-talk video. The pacing kept my attention. Also dogs.
Bro I just started watching your channel and been catching up on older videos. I see you ask the follower what we would like to see. But honestly just be you do you. That’s why I stayed. Everyone one UA-cam just recycles everyone’s material and it’s got boring. Just do you bro 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I feel this video so hard. I have a small collection, and I drive all of them, some more than others. Yet every time I think of selling one…I…just…can’t…. Great video!
Fantastic episode, love the blurred dash. Definitely would love to hear about your love for the Raptor. Accidents are called that for a reason, so totally get why you are stressed about others on the road
You mentioned a few times, and I would love to see your perspectives on buying/flipping cars. In general I feel like I have pretty realistic expectations, I know I’m not gonna roll in money within months, but I want as much of the real, nitty gritty shit to know about the process, the things to look out for, negotiation methods; whatever you can share. Separately, enjoying the vlogs, and would love to see more about the raptor obsession too 😂
100% in for financial car move knowledge. Not enough people talk about how they went from say a 2k$ mk1 Gti to a e63 wagon… my own moves. But I probably could have done it faster or smarter if someone with the knowledge shared it with me back in the day. Keep this rad line of videos going!
Vin. Thank you ! Love this vid!! My recommendation, throw in some slice of life… restaurant recommendations, keep the car content you got that on lock. Make this more of a real “this is me” channel. I think people can and will relate. And will keep watching
You have already started, but please continue to lift the veil of the carfluencer culture as a business. I am not the only one that is interested in how the financials work or how the businesses operate.
Your vlog style is grippy - it holds my attention. You’re adding a lot of value with your experience that people want to hear. You have a perspective a lot of people don’t. Love the videos! Keep it coming. Definitely want to see a finance video on how you think when buying / selling.
Love the video. I’m currently in the process of acquiring a 87’ 911 G50 coupe and I’m struggling with the mental game and the financial aspect of owning a car that’s worth more than both my daily’s so this was super helpful!
...it's Vin Diaries! Appreciated the insight on high dollar car ownership. Also great to see some of the old crew. Keep it up! I always enjoy your content.
Love the content. The repaint identification tips and your thoughts about high mileage and accidents is awesome. People should be less obsessed with low miles and no stories. Keep it up.
Keep the vlog going. Your videos are really the only ones that kept Hoonigan UA-cam going. This VS That was too played out. Doing fun stuff and builds, built the channel. You always had/have different vehicles to mod. I will watch every vlog. I look forward to more info on all the Raptors.
Really enjoying your content so far. The people really made Hoonigan and some of the best vids were just random shit you guys were doing every day. Glad to see you back at it.
This is amazing content. You growth through hoonigan is inspiring. Realize you are the brand and through your experience you know what enthusiast will love…because it’s authentic.
Whatever you call this vlog/vibe works really well IMO. Your authenticity is what gets the views. It'd be dope to learn about the buying aspect, the driving, or even previous work you've done before, like you mentioned body/paint experience. Had no clue. Good luck and honestly at this point I'm supporting almost anything ya post.
Im stoked for more content, this actually made me think about my 996. Id like to see more on the financial end of owning higher end / performance oriented cars and how to save cost and maximize the experience
GREAT EVERYTHING!! I love the fact that you are very descriptive, how you like to go in depth with details and doing so naturally in any environment that you are at. I would only suggest you get a mic so that we can hear you better on noisy environments. Don't get me wrong, I love engine sounds! But I also like to hear what you've got to say.
Love your honesty coming from the viewpoint of an enthusiast who's worked hard to get to their dream ride. I got mine last year (although not to the same scale - '19 rs3) and reality and stress of ownership has tainted the pleasure somewhat. The financial worry and having to think twice where it gets parked is tiresome.
I am interested in your Raptor and Tacoma story , i follow you on IG as well and it's crazy how many you have had over the years. Enjoying the channel , i think most people will keep watching for you and whatever your up to with your life. You guys are the ones that kept us coming back for more content , so it's great to be able to support you directly now.

That said the way these vlogs are presented are great man not forced you seem like the same geezer in the hoonigan vids we all liked!
Thanks for the video, Vin! Good content, I think this context gives us non-supercar-owners insight into the experience of dream vs. reality. Also, I'd love to watch a video about your "Raptor Buy/Sell Journey" or whatever you call it. Buy, style, drive, sell, buy, style, drive, sell, etc.
The content we want is you. You make it different. Your view and opinion on cars like this is what we are here for. Why you buy, what you buy, what you sell, explain what’s in your brain and you will do good 👍🏼
I rate this man, its a good take, finding things to talk about that most other youtubers/car owners don't talk about. If you can find interesting things to discuss that I haven't heard 100 times I'll tune in 👌
I like Vinney Aneistrat. More please! Very interesting topic in this video, and the other stuff you mentioned for the future, too. And it's great to see some of the guys again (especially Kyle *KEE KEE!* , Suppy and Grim). Even the "new guys", Angelo, Trevor and co., who we didn't get to know much, all seem chill, are nice appearances. Oh and Zac, of course, was forgetting about him, 'cause he was one of the last ones to "leave". The fact that you care, and worry, about the content you put out (like you talk about @16:50) is enough for me to watch and follow you.
Every video from an established UA-cam character is valuable because you have been there and done that. Don't overthink what people want to see. We are here because we like what you do. Insider tips and tricks in the industry would be a cool video maybe. Good luck bro.

I live for the community. Without it I’d have nothing to do 😂
You are doing the thing already.
Keep going!
Glad to see you doing your own shit and happy to see it taking off, keep up the good work big dawg!!
Thanks man. Filmed this entire thing myself!
@@vin_tra That's one thing that really impresses me about Freddy (Tavarish). He does EVERYTHING himself, no film crew, no editors, just him.
Vin’s ramblings are exactly what you’d do with a buddy just shooting the shit, it makes for great engaging content, keep it coming.
Keep up the great work
you're right. you cant afford it. you're smart enough to see it wears on your mental state and all we truly have in the end is time. not worth it in the end to be that stressed. sell it brotha. you'll get it back soon enough when the time is right. excellent vid. keep em coming,
999
Also really enjoy seeing the rationale behind your purchases/how you view cars since you've got a good track record
I like where your going with these vlogs.
Nice - and I fully understand your view............I share it.
Keep sharing - a full one combination of finance, value, prep, valet etc............. the full story.
I feel like the Vin that I’m seeing in these videos is a different Vin than I saw on the Hoonigan channel and I love it
Hoonigan was more reckless which is fun but like pack mentality
This was such refresher for me. Thank you for sharing some knowledge, I can’t even begin to explain how well this video was able to grab my attention and keep it. Already these couple videos have been great to watch, I’ll definitely always be quick to watch any more to come when I see them.
Just keep doing you and don't stop because everyone loves to hear what you gotta say! I've been watching you for years now and I along with many other love watching every minute! You are every smart and funny, so don't every stop being you! Mad love and respect brother!
Dude is so real, very refreshing in youtube
love it bro just keep it real and authentic. Real gear heads will relate and many more will appreciate it and learn
video style, pacing, and editing are killer for vid number 3!! just remember lighting, a couple shots at the start have you super dark vs your background. Can't wait for more content!
Yeah the in car stuff is real bad. Will improve for sure
@@vin_tra oh I know you will, it’s all just getting the reps in. Hyped for more!
@@vin_tra also don't forget to hi-pass the audio for removing the droning sound from the in car shot.
LETS GO VIN!! Excited for your page my man!
I’m glad Vin is making videos!!
I dont know if that’s true but I will try to make stuff that I find interesting or that you guys will enjoy!
A little bit of both is GREAT. Knowing the the details of owning a car is great.
Let’s go vinnie. Glad you’re still putting content out there bud. Always be a fan keep rocking dude 🤘🤘
Happy to watch you drop any type of knowledge
I think you've done things a lot of people aspire to do, whether that's flipping cars up to your dream car, your job at Hoonigan or simply just owning tastefully modded cars. I think casual / honest conversations about any of this is great content
Woke up early to watch this first thing! Turned out great, really informative without being just a sit-and-talk video. The pacing kept my attention. Also dogs.
Dogs!!! ❤
Doggos! 😂
I think a few of us would love to see a vlog about stuff that isn't about cars, like a house tour or Champ!
I’ll sprinkle that in
I feel this video so hard. I have a small collection, and I drive all of them, some more than others. Yet every time I think of selling one…I…just…can’t…. Great video!
Fantastic episode, love the blurred dash. Definitely would love to hear about your love for the Raptor. Accidents are called that for a reason, so totally get why you are stressed about others on the road
its nice watching these videos and getting excited about getting out there in your own car ,wrenching or whatever.
Do this more often. I like the vlog ideas you have, about the buy, sell, upgrade of cars etcetera. I love the edit by the way.
Vin.
Keep it up! I always enjoy your content.
this is a fresh car youtube content! love the authenticity 🤙🏽
Keep up the videos of just being yourself and what you feel like you should cover as far as content! Good to see you back on UA-cam!!!
Really liked this video concept. There are tons of build and review channels, so it’s cool to have something fresh to watch.
This video was dope. Hearing your ideas and your transitions and storytelling skills were all something I'll stick around for.
Im stoked for more content, this actually made me think about my 996. Id like to see more on the financial end of owning higher end / performance oriented cars and how to save cost and maximize the experience
Authenticity of this channel is awesome
Like some said, a breath of fresh air, really enjoy discussion videos that aren't artificially dragged longer than needed
You’re vlogs are so dope . Glad to see you doing your own thing
Giving advice on buying cars and how to retain value on existing cars sounds brilliant. Cheers Vin. Looking forward to more content.
Keep ‘em coming!!! Your doing great. We here for you, Vin.
I DIG IT! This is what the world needs, the reality. Don't over think it a day in the life of Vin is interesting enough.
Really great to see some of the gang still together.
Keep providing genuine content on your journey. Sprinkle things in organically as you encounter/experience things. Good stuff
For stuff to show in future vids? track scene where you are different, chassis to look into building for the track, mods. Different track classes for beginner/ intermediate/advanced.
Why you buy, what you buy, what you sell, explain what’s in your brain and you will do good 👍🏼
Seeing the old gang is everything! Keep it up!
Would love to hear your journey of finding a new shop / storage for your cars and similar tips/tricks like you discussed on the paint. Great content!
Love it duder! I dig real life stuff, feels like hanging out with friends
First car vlog channel ive enjoyed. As if im just listening to friends chit chay about car woes just on another level.
So glad you’ve gone your own way, you just know your content is going to be 10/10. Love it
Love the content. Also huge W having Amy & champ in the Vlogs, because they're a huge part of who you are/what you do.
Every video from an established UA-cam character is valuable because you have been there and done that. Don't overthink what people want to see. We are here because we like what you do. Insider tips and tricks in the industry would be a cool video maybe. Good luck bro.
Need more videos. People love you. Just talking or other content is great. But your life experience is valuable to others and your speaking is entertaining.
Keep it up!
