WOW, in my opinion, Dee Roscioli was the greatest!! Incredible!! Her power and steadiness! No matter if she did no outstanding riff: her control was amazing. Then there's Willemijn, whose versatility just *showed*. Jemma Rix, because her voice was amazingly steady; again, with no riffs, but amazing!!!
Rachel Tucker, Kerry Ellis Alexia Khadime, Eden Espinosa, Willemijn Verkaik, Stephanie J. Block, my all-time favorite Elphba's, but I love the current one, Lindsay Mendez.
Willemijn Verkaik's voice is one of the best, her talent is outstanding, she performs the show not only in English, but Dutch and German too, seen her at the Apollo victoria in London on the 3rd april 2014, outstanding.
My favorite Elphaba is Willemijn Verkaik... I saw her in "Wicked" in London in April 2014... She was so amazing!!! Even in green, she was beautiful! And her voice is gorgeous
I like everyone :) it's a very difficult role to sing and I appreciate every actress who has done it! And they all manage to bring something completely unique to the part :)
Also look at us Brits go with our excessive screaming and whooping :'D I love that we all come together on their last shows! But then we don't really have to travel as far
It really annoys me when the audience starts clapping and shouting before the song ends. How are we supposed to appreciate the amazing riffs and talent of the singers if we can't hear shit? You wanna show your appreciation for the artist? Awesome! Maybe do it after the song so other ppl can also hear?
Alexia Khadime & Rachel Tucker were the top in this group to me however 2 that are not on here tops them that is Stephanie J Block & Brandi Chavonne Massey
Idina Menzel is one of my favorites. But my other two Favorites arn't here :( Lindsey Mendez and Jenifer Dinoa (she was who i saw, the most recent one)
campervan20 Honestly, having seen both of them, Rachel IS the better Singer, BUT, Idina kills in terms of acting, Rachel isn't NEARLY as good an actress as Idina is. It's all so subjective, but that's how I've experienced their performances, both of which were phenomenal.
First one was horrible. Sadly, that was also one of the worst performances by Idina I've heard. She doesn't sound like that on the soundtrack. Everyone is prety much speaking the first part of each clip which I've never heard done before either in the live performance I saw of Anne Brummel or the recordings I've heard of the original Elphaba. I'm not really a fan of that.
I will not lie....although Idina is the original I dont think her performances are as good as Kerry or Rachels.. On another note, where is Donna's version?!
the audience at Kerry's last show was just insane! One of the best nights of my life! Rachel's last show was also an incredible night :D I LOVED Alexia's riffs but for some reason her Elphaba fan base never really took off in comparison with other london elphabas.....
I've never understood why Alexia never had the same fan base as Kerry or Rachel, because she's always been my personal favourite (though I can't help loving all of them.)
Alan Manning Respectfully, I'm asking you not to bother commenting on any of my videos again. I wholeheartedly encourage discussing favourite performances/least favourite, but openly bashing an actress and not giving a genuine reason why or being respectful of her fans? That's not cool and I won't have it on my videos.
Kerry's last Defying Gravity was absolutely insane. The crowd, her choices, the immense LOOK. But last time's in Defying Gravity are always so crazy, especially in London.
Okay, I am sick of Idina's flock of defenders. I like Idina, I really do. I think her acting was incredible and her singing on other songs was fabulous. But Defying Gravity just wasn't her song, especially the final riff. All Elphabas have songs they don't do as well on. This is Idina's. And I couldn't have chosen another recording, as this is a compilation of the last ever performance of Defying Gravity each actress sang on their last show. This is how she sung it.
Don't get me wrong I'm not a Wicked die hard (not yet) but when Idina was in London she was better so her but I know why she is so loved. She had asthma at the time and it blew people's minds that she could sing those high and long notes in her condition
Alexis' riffs were so amazing and creative, i don't necessarily like the timbre of her voice, but no one can deny she's got mad talent. Eden was great, even tho you can tell she was tired she SLAYED it. Willemijn sounded the best tho, by far. Completely effortless strong and clear.
My top two: Willemijn, then Rachel! Both are just so amazing. No shade to everyone else though, some of my other favorites are Donna, Jennifer, and Stephanie!
Alexia will always be my favorite London Elphaba! She doesn't have a traditional sound to her voice. Some find it annoying but the girl has the notes and the emotion to pack behind the song & she ALWAYS delivers.
Ok,Julia murney is amazing, Kerry and Eden and dee and Jemma are Awesome but Idina is queen,Marcie dodd is good but I dont like Rachel, and Willemjin is okay
Kerry for the pure fact I went on the journey with her from the very beginning, she made me cry and laugh in more ways I thought possible at every show - and I shout bullshit to those who say "she can't act or sing", because if they actually went to her shows and payed attention to her they would know she really pulled the emotion at every show like a professional! No justification needed, she was phenomenal - one of the hard ones to beat!!
Danny B To the extent of my knowledge, it is, as I used footage/audio from UA-cam (considering I wasn't there for any performer's last show, and I'm from the UK), and the uploader of the audio I used stated that it was her last performance. Maybe she had multiple last performances in different theatres/countries. I personally don't know.
Eden has had 4 final performances lol. The performance was posted previously and she made the same exhale noise after "And nobody." You're correct on that being her last San Fran run lol
Willemijn Verkaik. She IS Elphaba. No one can match her. Never!
My favorites are the ones where the audience is clapping during all of it, just makes it so much more special!
RACHEL RACHEL RACHEL! Incredible....that growl is just another level, and the strength of the belt afterwards!!!!!
I agree. Stephanie’s was very strong. She sounded like she was gonna start bawling!
EDEN and ALEXIA there are no words!! Idina is always queen though.
Poor Eden. She was Sick =(
Jae Andre I wish I sounded like that sick
@@KarlyCshe wasn’t sick . She was actually trying to be vocally stable at her last show . I think she was crying.
Kerry's most recent last performance had her best AHHHH ever.
Jemma Rix, Rachel Tucker, Eden Espinosa, Willemijn Verkaik, Stephanie J. Block.
Alexia Khadime is so amazing!!!!
I'm sorry but Rachel is head and shoulders above the rest...closely followed by Kerry
Willemijn Verkaik's voice is one of the best, her talent is outstanding, she performs the show not only in English, but Dutch and German too, seen her at the Apollo victoria in London on the 3rd april 2014, outstanding.
I ❤️kerry's and idina's performance thumbs up
Hi, MCRwriterwickedfreak. this is a extremely nice looking video. thanks. :)
Marcie is amazing. Love her so much.
My favorite Elphaba is Willemijn Verkaik... I saw her in "Wicked" in London in April 2014... She was so amazing!!! Even in green, she was beautiful! And her voice is gorgeous
Willemijn will always be the best to me. Nobody else can compare to her in my opinion, she's so special to me:)
I like everyone :) it's a very difficult role to sing and I appreciate every actress who has done it! And they all manage to bring something completely unique to the part :)
Jemma Rix was definitely one of my favorites along with Idina and Jennifer Dinoia
Caroline Bowman is easily my favourite Elphaba.
I'd say Kerry for me her breath I think shows she give it her all
Dee, Jemma, Stephanie, Willemijn,
Rachel tucker. The atmosphere on her last show was INCREDIBLE.
If you haven't seen "Wicked" with Emmy Raver-Lampman as Elphaba it sucks to be you. The others are good, Emmy will blow you away!
This makes me even more excited for cast change, EEEE.
Kerry is perfection. She's my favorite Elphaba. Willemijn Verkeik is a close 2nd.
My fav was Dee! Incredible vocals
I love donna vivino
Also look at us Brits go with our excessive screaming and whooping :'D I love that we all come together on their last shows! But then we don't really have to travel as far
Rachel Ticker or Stephanie J Block
RACHEL TUCKER!!!
Beverly Leslie is my favourite
?????
It really annoys me when the audience starts clapping and shouting before the song ends. How are we supposed to appreciate the amazing riffs and talent of the singers if we can't hear shit? You wanna show your appreciation for the artist? Awesome! Maybe do it after the song so other ppl can also hear?
Marcie Dodd and Alexia khadime are the best elphabas in wicked
Alexia Khadime & Rachel Tucker were the top in this group to me however 2 that are not on here tops them that is Stephanie J Block & Brandi Chavonne Massey
Idina Menzel is one of my favorites. But my other two Favorites arn't here :( Lindsey Mendez and Jenifer Dinoa (she was who i saw, the most recent one)
I didn't include Lindsey or Jennifer, (as well as Louise Dearman) as at the time of making this video they hadn't had a final performance. :)
MCRwriterwickedfreak
i'm surprised Jemma was included asince she hasn't had a last yet either.
Creepy4sure pretty sure jennifer dinoa is still on broadway
WILLAMIJN IS AWSOME AND THE BEST (everyone esse is average)
Rachel
Is it me or does Dee Roscioli's sound rushed.
woah, what happened to Idina's voice?! O_O
She was probably exhausted vocally.
But she was terribly flat
she was also crying a ton.
i dont think idina is as good as as rachel.
campervan20 Honestly, having seen both of them, Rachel IS the better Singer, BUT, Idina kills in terms of acting, Rachel isn't NEARLY as good an actress as Idina is. It's all so subjective, but that's how I've experienced their performances, both of which were phenomenal.
Indina Mendel
EXCUSE ME?; 2:38
First one was horrible.
Rachel Tucker is first... Idina was the second track.
I know this is late, but never base someone's voice off of the soundtrack alone. You're just setting yourself up for failure.
Ruthie Klein Rachel is better than idina
I will not lie....although Idina is the original I dont think her performances are as good as Kerry or Rachels.. On another note, where is Donna's version?!
whoever picked Idina obviously skipped the first 45 seconds of this video. that growl...
I can't believe Idina made it to Broadway! She's awful!
Willemijn Verkaik is Wicked bae. Not only because she is a FANTASTIC singer, but she has performed Wicked in four countries and three languages :)
the audience at Kerry's last show was just insane!
Kerry's last was just fucking crazy!!!! Rachel's was pretty mad too but not even close. Alexia was pretty bad that's why she had no fan base lol!
MCRwriterwickedfreak Well said. Alexia may not have been the best, but she was very good in the role and I love the "witchy" sound of her voice!
I was at Kerry's last performance also and it really was soo amazing !
The best part is listening to the audience's reactions.
You have to see the Brazilian last DG... That was just everething.
@Ryan Kelly The Movie Alternate VHS 2001 ua-cam.com/video/d_422STCjK8/v-deo.html here :D
Kerry's last Defying Gravity was absolutely insane. The crowd, her choices, the immense LOOK. But last time's in Defying Gravity are always so crazy, especially in London.
Stephen Valentine her second last night when she returned was just as epic during Defying gravity
WHERE IS SHOSHANA?
and i swear ideana was crying
No Elphaba is bad. If they were bad, they wouldn't have been chosen to play Elphaba. Simple as that.
Goldgary456 preach
that's not true they could have fucked the producers or something
Your moms a bad Elphaba. OHHHHH I MADE I RAIN
Too bad art is subjective and people can think others are bad.
Idina Menzel is bad.
Not true. The first ever Elphaba, Idiot Menzel, is absolutely DREADFUL
Willemijn is THE ULTIMATE ELPHABA!
No Shoshana Bean? But... But... She's my favorite Elphaba... :(
rachel’s final nite actually killed me...willemijn is also freaking amazing...idinas last london show gives me chills omg
Willemijn is still queen compared to all of them.
+Macie Goodspeed STEPHANIE
I just literally jumped out of my seat for Idina's one & I haven't even finished watching the vid!!
STEPHANIE J BLOCK
Eden Espinosa is my fave! She can do amazing things with her voice. When I saw her in person as Elphaba I literally got goosebumps she was so awesome!
Idina held “me” for eons!!! Queen and all those riffs!!! Icon
Willemjin's riffs got me dead
All of them are amazing to be cast in such an amazing role! My personal favorite is Willemijn Verkaik. She's so fabulous and I love her so much!
Don't get me wrong I'm not a Wicked die hard (not yet) but when Idina was in London she was better so her but I know why she is so loved. She had asthma at the time and it blew people's minds that she could sing those high and long notes in her condition
Was Idina crying while doing her "And nobody in all of oz no wizard that there is or was"?
Wilemijin and Idina....very strong voices!!!!
though I might be a bit biased, nobody beats Willemijn in my opinion.
Alexia. Is. The. Best. Elphaba.
but I also really enjoyed Rachel, Wilhemin, amd Eden.
I don't know why people are saying who is better then who... they all hit it = they are all amazing
Julia has such a strong vibrato!!!!! I got so many chills!
omfg i cryed when donna left..i fucking cryed...
willemijn and kerry are the best!! idina is better on broadway
Willemijn is mijn inspiratie en ik hou van haar 💚
Idina will always be my favorite Elphaba just like Kristen will always be my favorite Glinda. I'm always partial to original cast members.
Eden's was amazing, she had to take a big breath at "And nobody...Oooh~!" My, how amazing.
My favorite isn't in this video:( I love Alison luff!!!!! SO MUCH!
My top two: Willemijn, then Rachel! Both are just so amazing.
No shade to everyone else though, some of my other favorites are Donna, Jennifer, and Stephanie!
i really love Eden, it wasn't her BEST performance, but she has an incredible voice 😍😍
the audience's reaction to kerry was louder that a football match!!
idina was far from the best of this batch, but when she does occasionally nail it, she is my absolute favorite
Alexia will always be my favorite London Elphaba! She doesn't have a traditional sound to her voice. Some find it annoying but the girl has the notes and the emotion to pack behind the song & she ALWAYS delivers.
Enji Drake I agree
Yes, I really love Alexia
I like all elphabas but I'd in a Rachel and Kerry Ellis are my favourite. Julia murnays bring me downnnn is amazing and powerful
Idina is the best and the original!! No one can beat her!!
Ok,Julia murney is amazing, Kerry and Eden and dee and Jemma are Awesome but Idina is queen,Marcie dodd is good but I dont like Rachel, and Willemjin is okay
+FurryFriend Fun123 I actually like Rachel's first bring me down
Idina Menzel!!:)
Wow alexia was amazing! And nobody's really commented on that! (As far down as I can scroll haha) WOOOW!
I love hearing the audience cheer
Willemijn verkaik!
Eden Espinosa!!!
That wasn't Eden's Last.... her last is on YouTUBE it is a lot stronger than that.
+Danny B This was her last in the San Fran run. She was sick unfortunately.
Eden has had 4 final performances lol. The performance was posted previously and she made the same exhale noise after "And nobody." You're correct on that being her last San Fran run lol
I know I was disappointed that it wasnt her last because she was more powerful on that one
That was Eden's last.Eden came back in 2010 and was really sick. She hasn't come back since.
it's like hearing vocal chords shredding one after the other
+Steve Gunderson except for Dee Roscioli, sounds like her voice is intact
No contest! IDINA MENZEL!!!!
Also Alexia Khadime is so underrated
EDEN OH MY GOD
Idina was the original, but she always seems to be a little screechy and loses it
Yeah. It must be hard to sing with asthma
MegaSoulhero totally!
05: 38. SJB! Forever! Nobody will ever bring Stephanie J. Block down.
