I understand the argument - and agree with it. The less screens possible, the better. But I think he misses the point with the meaning given to the word "interface" especially in the title of his book. Interfaces are all about communication, about what is < in between >. What is in between me and my distant family when I want to talk to them is the phone and our voices. What is in between a dog and the food they want to eat is perhaps the bowl, what is in between me and my closed apartment is the door, the lock and the key. Those systems are interfaces. Interfaces are not only screen interfaces. So the best interface is the least perceivable, the most subtle interface.
That was excellent. I do have an opinion on this though, while all of the low/no UI is appreciated in society which is already saturated by technology. I wonder how the next billion mobile/tech users would feel about this.
Oh my god i was just starting an interface project. Now I am thinking how can I make less interface. Thank you so much, i am starting to really really challenge myself

May be he is not implying the literal meaning of interface.
So what would be the non-literal meaning of an interface?
Chaitanya Alluru I don't think so - he talks about buttons and screens and doors...
