If your old one isn’t already spoken for, take the compressor off your old one and tie the old tank into your new compressor. That’ll give you 140 gallons of capacity, or you could set it up like a surge tank. Either way will give you more air than you could ever need!

Austin you need to get a two stage compressor instead of a single stage, recovery is much faster and keep's up with high CFM tools like your blast cabinet. Linking the old tank to the new one will also work for high volume to. Another great vid keep up the good work.

I bought the 60 gallon Ingersoll in 2019 and my auto switch already went out. The contact welded themselves together and wouldn't shunt off at max psi. So after I replaced it I always pull the power when I'm not in the shop. I need to go through my system to look for the slow leak that caused it to run more than it should. Just a few thoughts. Keep up the good work!

If it hits a wall at 40, it could be a governor. It does so well at low speeds and even high revs. I know the newer ones I used on street for work were governed to 25mph, so right in that ballpark.

Now that bead breaker tool you made is way overkill!
Lol. You could break beads on semi's (tractor trailers)
You should combine those two air tanks to increase your air storage too.
    Great content as usual.
    Cheers from Sydney Australia

    Hm, not much power?
Check the carburator jets. Might be small.
Also check the "auto-advance" of the spark plugs if it s working properly.
Check the valve clearance (as you mentioned) too.
    Just some thoughts.

Those IR compressors come with anti-vibration isolation pads and hardware. I mounted mine to a modified hand truck with inflatable tires and a thick, rubber isolator. It produces very little harmonic resonance. Surprisingly quiet.

I noticed the wheel studs stuck out beyond the spacer, was there clearance on the back side of the rim? I ran into that trying to put 1" spacers on my sons 97 T4R, had to go with 1.25" thick spacers to get it to work. That thing is really cool!

    • @majormojo
      @majormojo 2 роки тому +3

I saw that as well. It looks like there's enough thread engagement that the original studs could be cut down flush for a better fit. As it is, it appears that the wheel is touching the ends of the old studs and not the face of the hub/spacer.

When it comes to Air ...SCFM rules...
and Max Air Pressure is secondary....
you need as much SCFM as you can afford and the Highest Air Pressure next....then your Tank size will dictate how often your compressor has to come on to Keep Up with your biggest demanding air tools....anything running constantly will drain your system.... and yep..your Blaster is going to still need a break between work... 30 SCFM and 80 - 100 gal tanks at 150-175 PSI will be the best you get without going crazy expensive to get a full commercial shop sized compressor... all depends on your budget and needs...
