We have some of the best small mount bass fishing here in the mid island! And the best large mouth fishing in the Victoria area.

Done 3 full days in this fishery on a fishing kayak also. Truthfully IDK how they are using any sinking lures, there are few places even the best weedless rigs would work. Best option I found was topwater frogs.

Good video thanks for that. There's this small pond that I know of on the Island, and I saw 2 huge Bass in there, but then they seemed to have disappeared.Never seen anyone ever fish there, lots of frogs..do they eat ducks?

Ducklings get gobbled by the largest/senior Bass.
Pike and musky eat ‘em up.

Quite typical of bass fishing enthusiasts to downplay the damage these fish have done and continue to do to our ecosystems. Unfortunately they are here to stay. I've been out a couple of times to fish Smallmouth in Cultus Lake. They taste pretty good. Try eating them next time.

I bass fishing often, in fact I tournament fish for them. Usually I disagree strongly with keeping them due to genetics and keeping a fishery as pristine as possible. However in this instance I 100% agree with you. Native species need to have priority over the "cool sport fish", plus like I said, keeping a fishery as pristine as possible is important to me

Hey Petr, what if they're small, I've been getting into lots of small ones. I was thinking of seeing if people would use them for sturgeon bait. Lots of lakes that have struggling salmon have bass in them

@@JohnJames. Invasive or not, I draw the line at killing something and not using it. Lots of people toss them in the bushes, but I think that's not right, even if some racoon gets a meal. Have no idea if sturgeon would want to eat them, I understand they are very picky.

@@petrhermanadventures9509 I feel the same way. Ill ask my sturgeon fishing friend if he will try it. Unfortunately where Im catching them, eating them would be questionable. Love your videos , hope you got your fair fill of sockeye, I went bass fishing instead

7:55 This speil about Bass is just nonsense and legitimizing a bass sport fishery in BC by someone who makes a living from it. Its like asking the fox what kind of chickens to have in the coop. Bass have been illegally introduced into areas areas where juvenille salmonids take refuge, like the pitt polder, silvermere and hatzic lakes. I've caught bass in several Fraser tributaries, because they migrated. Juvenille Chinook, coho and steelhead all live in these marshy/slough areas of the lower Fraser, and Bass are eating them up. They are an invasive species that ought to be culled out of existance.

Pfft stfu clown bass have been here for over a century. Nobody's here saying we should start stocking them again he made some pretty irrefutable points hence why you're not addressing any of them directly. Bass are not going anywhere anytime soon and salmon and trout have alot greater threats to their existence than the presence of bass. Ironically all you salmon and trout "conservationists" bring home a cooler full of fish from the Vedder every day in the fall.

I wish every body of water in BC could be eradicated of bass so native species can flourish.....the bass are so great at eating our hatchery smolts and fingerlings so guys can fish for trash in mud puddles....eradicating our efforts to promote trout salmon and steelhead stocks
