technically google maps isn't a game but you can make it one.
sticking it in VR only adds to that. like say... acting like a spawn of godzilla.

hey Jon! you might want to try disabling "Comfort mode" it will get rid of the grey boundaries when moving so you can see more than just that tiny circle. You can also enable human sized view so you can get much lower on the planet. these options can be found in the top right of locations menu.

I am amused by the concept of referring to Google Earth as a "Game" but let's face it, outside of certain specific job purposes most people just use Google Earth to goof off.
Just in case anyone is curious, most of the modeling isn't hand rendered it's procedurally rendered by a computer based on a mixture of ground level and satellite imagery and other data.

I find it so amazing how the original Google Earth program (the 2D one) was inspired by and based off of Neal Stephenson's novel Snow Crash in which the protagonist uses a fully 3D, VR based setup in the "metaverse" (gotta love 90s post-cyberpunk) to access a global real-time satellite map called "Earth" that could be manipulated in 3D with your hands and could be zoomed in and out from a global to a street level perspective. And now, with the Google Earth VR we've come full circle to the original concept. I love living in sci-fi.

Yes I know, I was just pointing out that when most people talk about Vegas they usually mean Paradise

I honestly thought this game would just be a trick and here's how I thought it would go down.
A drone or something is sent into space to take pictures of earth, but gets shot down by aliens and crashes onto earth, where the endgoal is to survive alien patrols and get back into space to observe the now-wrecked Earth.

I've been to several New Vegas locations in real life. I'm sad Jon did not take the time to identify the Prospector's Saloon. I had dinner there and the crowd was awesome. Had ribs and baked beans. Baked beans were served in the can! Also, wish he'd found the real world inspiration for Helios 1. You can see it for MILES on a sunny day.

Ok so we went to King's Cross, but you didn't show us where Hogwarts is? Thanks a lot Jon!

I know it's unlikely, but could this be a series? Perhaps once a week, exploring a fan suggested city that you've never been to before? It would be a wonderful travel experience to share with you.

The Shard is gorgeous! Stunning, clean lines and purity of form. how can anyone call it ugly? Especially considering some of the other crap polluting the London skyline.
