I have just noticed something. Whereas the first movement is based on Les Sauvages by Rameau, the second movement is Quand on sait aimer et plaire from Le Devin du Village by... Rousseau !
The two mortal enemies gathered in the same concerto !

Not a first time, for Corrette, using other works to make something new: don't miss his Laudate Dominum over Vivaldi' Springs! ➡ ua-cam.com/video/TK2pe3yHY0Y/v-deo.html

God, I love French Baroque... So elegant and sublime... Even though this is a bit after the Baroque era. Could this be classified as "Classical"?

@@theslayer1120 On wiki it says he still continued to compose in the Baroque style well into the Classical era. His music sounds so old, despite being contemporary with Mozart

He was a Mozart contemporary but definitely not the same generation: it's just that Mozart died very young, but Corrette died almost at 90!
He watched the Classical periodo born, but he was basically still a late Baroque composer. :

From my limited understanding of musicology, I'd say he spanned the baroque and galante periods

      Galant would be more accurate.

Far more inventive than the original, that, after listening to, you loose the will to live.

Comical is odd to say on one of the most nicest pieces ever ( in my opinion) I don't see how its comical. please explain.

@@Ianaljardkovic i'm pretty i wrote the comment because it has the word "comique" in the title, and then my caveman brain immediately thought it meant "comical" (which i am _100%_ sure is not the correct translation). it was all in good fun honestly.
