Woop woop! 😁 In spite of lacking a viewfinder, the fact that Sony includes a touch shutter feature with the ZV-E10 and FX30 to compensate is a gamechanger for anyone who's transitioning from smartphone shooting to using a proper camera for both beginner and professional applications.
I am so keen to get one of these, I’ve been hanging out to see what Sony releases in the APSC line. This new camera due for release next week, the suspense is killing me 😂
The shutter button won’t let you choose a point on the screen. You’d have to click a custom button, go into flexible spot autofocus, move the point around and then press the shutter button. Or you could do this and touch the screen to focus and take a picture of anything in the frame instantly. I didn’t say it makes up for the lack of EVF, I said it’s helpful on a camera without an evf because since you have to look a the screen to take pics anyway, you can use this feature to touch anywhere on the screen to get a streamlined workflow.
these cameras don't have evf-s so the LCS runs all the time anyway. And the battery life os great on the fx30 and even though the ZV-E10 has a smaller batter - if stills lasts fro hours of photos
Hey Mark, What is a setting that will give you 100% focus of everything ? I did an interview two people and the back drop had poster with human faces and my lens was deciding who to focus and my entire video came out as in and out of focus. For 100% continues focus everything in 4K. Any setting? I use 16mm lens. ZV-E10
There is no flash - like most cameras, you can add an external flash. Most mirrorless cameras have eliminated on camera flash and rely on external flashes which are much better
Hi, I just got Sony zve 10 and The touch shutter bottom is grey and says: this operation or setting not available for shoot mode. The touch screen doesn't do anything. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks
The touch screen is only for focus or taking photos - it does not have a touch operation to control the menus. If you want to usee the shutter button, you have to be in photo mode. when you want to record video - use the red record button
since they don’t have one, you have to use the lcd for everything. with touch shutter it makes the camera more useable for photos - a lot of people think that because they don’t have evf’’s that they aren’t useable photo cameras.

i tried this with my zv-e10 and it would work by taking a single pic, then it won’t click anymore :

make sure your focus area is in wide. and don’t tap too fast

I am getting a camera. Confused between zve10 or R10
they’re both great, but there not very many lenses available for the canon unless you get an adapter, which is why I usually recommend the Sony
So ibhad zve10 for a year and now i know how to be more productive with it
