  • In this lesson, we introduce for the first time one of the most famous names from the Reformation period, the French Reformer John Calvin. Although Calvin's name is forever linked to the city of Geneva, he began his reforming work in France, and addressed the first edition of his Institutes to King Francis I. Here we learn more about his motives in writing the Institutes, how he came to Geneva, and his important time of collaboration with Martin Bucer in Strasbourg.
