I got to see them play Spiderland from start to finish in NYC a couple years ago - absolutely spectacular. I'll never forget it. We are some of the lucky few!
Don stepped outside It felt good to be alone He wished he was drunk He thought about something he just said And how stupid it had sounded He knew he should forget about it And he decided to piss But he couldn't (A plane passed silently overhead) The streetlights, and the buds on the trees and the night Were still It finally came He took a deep breath It made him feel strong And determined To go back inside The light Their backs Their conversations The couples Romancing... so natural His friends stare With eyes like the heads of nails The others Glances With amusement With amazement With contempt So distant With malice For being a sty In their engagement Like swimming underwater in the darkness Like walking through an empty house Speaking to an imaginary audience Being watched From outside A soul without a key He could not dance to anything Don left And drove And howled And laughed At himself He felt he knew what that was Don woke up And looked at the night before He knew what he had to do He was responsible In the mirror He saw his friend
Religion needs Spiritualism Spiritualism doesn't need Religion. So these are 2 different things which can but must not belong together. If people see something spiritual in Slint, then why not? I think they do not have a message like "kill all slayer fans" or something like that.
@UWWS Maybe you're used to seeing big rich rock bands playing in huge venues where they have armies of roadies and techs to do all that shit for them. Well this is the mighty Slint playing in a small bar on their own without all that bollocks. Amateurish? You're talking shit my friend. I saw them live in Dublin 6 years ago and they were anything but.
So is that Pajo on the right and some random guy they hired on the left to play guitar so that McMahon can concentrate on vocals? I suppose I should just shut up and be grateful that there's any live footage of Slint at all, but.... P.S. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO SLINT RULES BRO WHOOOOOOOO COORS LITE!!!!!
That silence is...wow. You almost never get that out of shows, especially at bars and pubs!

"Maurice" was the band Britt Walford was in between his time in Squirrel Bait and Slint. How come no one was shouting "Languid and Flaccid?"
im so freaking jealous that you got to see them live
I've tripped on acid to this for hours one night... Hours...
Take some aspirin
Don stepped outside
It felt good to be alone
He wished he was drunk
He thought about something he just said
And how stupid it had sounded
He knew he should forget about it
And he decided to piss
But he couldn't
(A plane passed silently overhead)
The streetlights, and the buds on the trees and the night
Were still
It finally came
He took a deep breath
It made him feel strong
And determined
To go back inside
The light
Their backs
Their conversations
The couples
Romancing... so natural
His friends stare
With eyes like the heads of nails
The others
Glances
With amusement
With amazement
With contempt
So distant
With malice
For being a sty
In their engagement
Like swimming underwater in the darkness
Like walking through an empty house
Speaking to an imaginary audience
Being watched
From outside
A soul without a key
He could not dance to anything
Don left
And drove
And howled
And laughed
At himself
He felt he knew what that was
Don woke up
And looked at the night before
He knew what he had to do
He was responsible
In the mirror
He saw his friend
Saw them at Metro and Park West!!
"In the mirror he saw his friend" *heavy breathing*
dante stepped outside.
I love Slint and this is AWESOME--thanks!
@RedBalls101 I agree immensely. The second I first heard this song I knew EXACTLY what he meant with his lyrics.
best song ever written
Nicely filmed. :)

Why the fuck would you woo at a Slint concert?
It just seems a little out of place.

Sorry if this question was already answered and I'm just not seeing it but when/where was this?
